Rogers and Hammersteinās Cinderella by Steven Thompson
French Musicals with English subtitles
I collected some Proshots of French musicals that I found English subtitles for. None of the subtitles are mine, the creators are credited in the .txt files that contain some general information.
(I made several folders because I ain't paying Mega anything)

I'm lag to the party but excuse me. NOTRE DAME DE PARIS CAME BACK IN 2022?!
WITH BRUNO?!
How did I not know this was a thing? š® I love Bruno and can't believe he's played Gringoire again. What I wouldn't give to see him in that role one day. Thank you so much for posting this @amalthea9!
(I also have to add Lune here because that's his song and he somehow managed to make it even more heartbreaking.)
RomƩo et Juliette 2010 Revival subtitles (New and improved)
The hardest part of this whole thing was figuring out how the hell I was going to edit the file. I obviously figured it out eventually.

At around 1:05 of this video (the NDDP RAI proshot ā not the same recording as the Arena di Verona proshot), Matteo Setti as Gringoire DOES A CARTWHEEL across the stage
A WHOLE CARTWHEEL
Around 2009 it seems he just went around doing cartwheelsĀ (all those are audience-shot videos of varying quality). What a flex, honestly!
My Youtube rabbit hole didnāt turn up any other Gringoires, Italian or otherwise, who did cartwheels, but maybe they did and it just wasnāt recorded. When I saw Gian Marco Schiaretti as Gringoire in Montreal (August 17 2022, likely his last show as Gringoire before leaving for Moulin Rouge) I swear he also did a cartwheel across the stage during the same dance break. This was truly the MOST ASTONISHING thing to see live and I am still not over it!! (Iām still looking for video proof though, and thatās where I found the Matteo Setti cartwheels)
Matteo Setti (and the rest of the original Italian cast!) is back in the Italian production now, but considering itās been 10+ years, I doubt heāll be doing any more cartwheels now. But you never knowā¦

RHYS OH MY GOD
MEN OF FRENCH MUSICALS : EMMANUEL MOIREĀ
Louis XIV (Le Roi Soleil)
You know how fantasy worlds are almost always based on (mostly Central and Northern) European Medieval aesthetic and folklore?
For a while Iāve been thinking that if we had a fantasy world made here, it would be interesting to have it be inspired by Modernisme (the Catalan artistic movement from the late 19th century - early 20th century). I mean, look at this and tell me it doesnāt have potential:
Interior of the Sagrada FamĆlia basilica, Barcelona. The stained glass in different sides of the temple are different colours, so the light changes colour depending on the hour of the day. (Photo sources x x)
Illa de la Discòrdia, Barcelona. x
Benches in Parc Güell (Barcelona), made with the ātrencadĆsā, the typical mosaic used in many of Antoni GaudĆās works (heās one of the most famous Modernist architects, and one of the most famous Catalan architects of all times too). x
A hall in Hospital de Sant Pau, Barcelona. x
Ceiling of Palau de la MĆŗsica Catalana, a concert hall in Barcelona.
Lots of these things. This one is in Argentona (Catalonia, too). x
And fashion would be like this:
Stained glass in Cerdanyola, Catalonia. x
Illustrations by Gaspar Camps.
More stained glass, now in Museu del Modernisme, Barcelona. x
Modernist jewels by LluĆs Masriera (Iāve talked about Modernist jewels in this previous post). x
Even the furniture:
x
Interior of Casa Amatller in Barcelona. x.
Even in wood looked pretty.
x
And lots of cool windows inspired by nature!
And from outside
Olot, Catalonia. x.
And of course all kinds of windows. Light is important!
Torre Bellesguard. x.
Barcelona. x.
This ceiling in Palau Güell with holes to let light in. x.
And this lamp?? Also in Palau Güell. x.
Everything would have to be very curvy.
Casa MilĆ , Barcelona. x.
And shops
This bakery in Palma, Mallorca. x.
And I wonāt begin with the tiles to not make the post longerā¦
What do you think?
And for people from other countries, what element in your culture do you think a fantasy world could be based on, aesthetically?
