My “Keto” Journey - Update 06
97 kg. Enough said.
The “Queen” has died, long live Sabine!
When I first heard that Sabine Schmitz has passed away, I thought it was a prank gone horribly wrong. But after a few hours of frantically searching the interweb, I was finally convinced that the Queen of the Nürburgring has indeed left us.
My reaction to the news was just of disbelief as I was, just a few days back, watched her do the van around the ‘Ring challenge for the nth time on YouTube. It was one of the few clips I watch that inspire me, for some perverse reason. And how I wished to meet her someday and personally tell her that she is one of the people that inspire me to dream, and dream big, although I am already old and miserable.
As I write this, I just finished watching the Top Gear tribute to her. A fitting tribute to the one and only Queen of the Nürburgring.
The Queen is dead, Long live Sabine!
Random Story Pitch 01 - “The Highlander” - Part One
So recently I had a random idea while I was watching a YouTube clip of one of my favorite 90s series, “The Highlander”. To those who don’t know it, just research it. While I still have this idea in my head, I might as well pitch it here for everyone to see (or not!).
I want to reimagine the story, taking the “good bits” from the original, and adding some of my own ideas. The good bits I want to keep from the original story are as follows:- > Immortals are people born normally but “activates” their immortality when they die a violent death
> They retain their physical appearance when activated, but their physical and intellectual prowess will always be when they were at their prime
> Once activated, they cannot be killed unless beheaded
> If an immortal is not activated, they live normal lives, and die a normal, uneventful death.
> An immortal, once activated, cannot have offspring
> Once killed, their “soul” transfers to the victor through what they call “The Quickening”
> Immortals can sense other immortals, even those inactivated
> They live by the prophecy “There can be... only One”
> There will come a time where the remaining immortals congregate to a place for “The Gathering” to fulfill the prophecy
From what I remember, those were the good bits of the show. To that I will add the following:- > If the immortal has a disability before he is activated, he retains the disability. But his body compensates greatly so the immortal can overcome the said disability, i.e. blind - heightened senses; physical deformities (missing limbs, degenerative illness, and the likes) - extreme intellectual prowess, sometimes resulting to sorcery, witchcraft and the dark arts.
> All immortals can “hide” their weapon of choice, albeit only one, and does not include projectile weapons i.e. firearms, crossbows
> You can kill an immortal by blowing its head off, but the Quickening will not happen, ever
> If an immortal kills an inactivated one, the Quickening will never happen.
If any of the new suggestions already part of the Canon, then just disregard them.
I will give the general plot of my story pitch in part 2, as well as any new suggestions I may think of.
My “Keto” Journey - Update 05
So I’m almost at my 99kg mark. ONWARDS!!!
Random Facts from QI
Whale oil was extensively used during the industrial revolution. If it weren’t for the invention of the distillation process for crude oil, the whale would have been extinct. In essence, Petrol saved the whale.
My “Keto” Journey - Update 04
Hello!
Sorry for ditching you guys these past weeks. I was in a bit of a low bit and was just generally depressed. But I’m OK now so let’s go!
After my last post I was pretty happy with my progress but then I hit my first “keto wall”. It’s where you yoyo with your weight even if you’re sticking with your routine. In my case, I was a bit off as I was apparently eating more than my carb limit daily (which in part I know) so when the weight did not go down, I got depressed. But because I want to persevere with this choice for my wellness, I started to crawl back up.
Now I am happy to report that my weight is exactly 100kg :) I haven’t checked my weight for 2 days now but I am confident I will be at the 99kg mark, after some years!
the last time I was under 100kg was A LONG TIME AGO. the last time i weighed less than 90 was when I was 12 years old!
I’m happy with my progress and will continue to pursue my target weight.
My plan will be as follows:-
> Continue to stick to my food regimen
> Do running during the Holy Month of Ramadan
> Be more positive with whatever outcome I get
So enough of this update, will give another one once a milestone is reached. Until then, have a great day, always!
My “Keto” Journey - Update 03
Today is a good day for me. My current weight:- 102.6 kg. YAY!!!
My “Keto” Journey - Update 02
So I checked my weight today and found out that I lost 500g since last time I weighed myself. All thanks to my bowel movement!
Who would have thought you can loose that much weight after defecation? I certainly didn’t!
Current weight - 103.4 kg.
If this is the end of oblivion, let me live each day with you, as if its the last day of my life...

My “Keto” Journey - Update 01
So last time I talked about the start of my “Keto” Journey. Suffice to say there is progress, albeit it has slowed down, way down.
Last time I checked, I was 103.8. Yay! But these past few days I have been constantly exceeding my Net Carbs and Protein intake, which is not good. I learned how bad it is this morning. 103.9!!!
So I will do strict monitoring now and even if I really crave for them, I will not eat any more foods until I see that weight go down to 102.9 (hopefully).
So there. Hope you like my nothingness and SHIT HARD!!!
My “Keto” Journey
Ok so to those who doesn't give a shit, I have been on the overweight side my whole life, even Obese II. It's a hard life, with me currently having hypertension and Diabetes Type 2. I tried a lot of dieting, exercise, but the weight always comes back, with a vengeance. But after A LOT of nagging from my sister, I started doing this Keto diet 4 weeks ago.
Since I already did diets before, I did not want to immediately switch into this diet. So for the first week I looked for any foods that I needed to remove (my sweets!!!). Then I prepared myself to start the diet by eating ALL remaining stocks I have 😁😁😁. I also checked Keto friendly foods that I can replace my normal foods immediately. After a few days I was ready.
The 2nd week was hard since it was the actual start of my Keto diet. I prepared what I think were the best food substitutes for me at that time, eggs and low carb bread. I ate 2 to 3 eggs and 1 low carb flatbread during breakfast and lunch. I know you all think "too much eggs!". It's my preference so deal with it. Drinks were limited to 2 in 1 coffee and water. Snacks were 1 serving of chicharones.
I also started using a carb manager app (Carb Manager, because why not) to monitor my net carbs intake daily.
3rd week was harder because I started to crave for my old foods, to the point that I went to the grocery store and contemplated into buying them. But what motivated me was the amount of carbs they have and what it means to my diet. So i stuck to my now modified foods: hard boiled eggs, some easy keto biscuit recipe i found on the interweb, and chicharones. I know its not far from my previous diet but if it works, why change?
When I started my diet, I'm at a whopping 110.4kg. After a week, it went down to 107.8kg, then last week its at 105.8kg. My sister said it's "water fat", the fat that's easy to reduce. I'm just happy i got rid of those immediately.
I'm managing my diet by using the manager app I have (**cough** purchased). I input my food and check how many net carbs I ate and how much is remaining. At times I overspend my daily net carb allowances, but I don't really try and think about it because it will just depress me. I quickly developed the mindset of "Tomorrow is another day to be better". And I try to stick with that.
During the end of the 1st week and the start of the 2nd week I also started experiencing what they call "Keto Flu". I'm lethargic, unable to process immediately, and overall feel crap. But I persevered. I did not want to go back to my previous lifestyle as I am seeing visible progress with this one.
I'm now nearing my 4th week in Keto mindset, 3rd week in actual keto diet, and my prognosis is still on the rise. I think I hit the end of my "water fats" and am now tackling my "actual fats". I slowed down losing weight during this week to be honest, but I will not stop until I break the 100kg barrier.
Since this has actually became long post, Imma stop here for now. Will post a separate one for the changes I noticed during the 1st weeks of my Keto "journey" or whatever this is.
Kthxbai~~~
