This Anatolian sheepdog is covered in his own blood after fighting off wolves protecting his flock while one of the sheep he protected gently comforts him. The dog is willing to die for his sheep, and the gesture of the sheep comforting him is all he needs. The Anatolian Shepherd is also called Kangal. They are flock guardians from Turkey and have the strongest bite force of any canine in the world. Traditionally, a single Anatolian is sent into the highlands with a flock of sheep for the winter, fending off or even killing wolves to protect its flock. They will receive a collar with giant spikes after their first kill of a wolf in order to further protect their throats from attack. The lesson from this image is that no matter how physically strong or emotionally tough someone is, showing them how much you appreciate their efforts goes a long way. To all the sheepdogs in our lives, thank you for your loyalty and protection. #somethingtothinkabout #whichoneareyou #whichonewouldyouwanttobe ???
