MUTEMATH is awesome. If you don't listen to them you should and then you have to see them live because they are one of the best live bands around. I've been a fan since the Reset EP, established this blog in 2010, and I've seen them 3 times. *This blog is not affiliated with MUTEMATH or their management.

Over a year ago I covered Mutemath on September 25th/2012 in Toronto, ON at the Phoenix Concert Theatre. I took this photo with my film camera I normally bring to shows. When I was scanning my film this shot would never scan properly until last week when I tried it again. It’s one of my favourite concert photos I have ever taken and I’m happy I’m able to share it now.

"One joke in our band is that if we’re trying to record a part that’s not working, regardless of the instrument, and Darren comes up to you and says "May I?", you always say "Yes". He just has this gift. He starts twiddling knobs and probably does some stuff he shouldn’t, but all of a sudden the same thing that you were playing starts to sound amazing. I assume it’s probably accidental, and he has no idea what he’s doing, but he’s following this ghost on his shoulder."

MUTEMATH INTERVIEW 9/27/13

Paul: Every past album has produced a pile of music that we use to create a rummage sale of sorts. We go through it every new album to make sure we didn’t miss anything from the last time. And there’s usually something that we made a few years ago, which we now know what to make of.
