I’ve written a guide to using the site Swagbucks to generate money for gems for those who don’t have credit cards, or who maybe don’t have the free cash to spend on pet sites. There are lots of options for rewards - from gift cards to PayPal payouts (which is what you’ll be aiming for if you use this for gems!)

Dragon Therapy

Please show me pretty calming dragons, I could use the help. More info under the cut because advice would be welcome as well.

This is probably not the best place to post it since this is a FR blog, but does anyone have experience with dissociative episodes? times when you do things but feel like someone else is “at the wheel”, so to speak? I’m really struggling to get a handle on what’s going on with me and any advice/encouragement would really be appreciated because I feel like I’m losing my mind and it’s so difficult to explain what’s going on.

I don’t know how much of it is me just being slow to react or what’s me actually being an ass and not taking responsibility later and I can’t get a handle on it. I don’t even know if I’m using the right words for what’s going on, but since I know I have dissociated before, once it was an out of body experience during a particularly horrible event, and another I lost all grasp of time when I was put in a position where I would have been forced to confront that in a way that was out of my control. When I’m having more general trouble, I feel like my brain shuts down and all of the nice bits of myself disappear and are replaced with some horrible, damaging automated system that has never done anything but get me into more trouble. Yes, I need to learn better ways of dealing with things, but there’s really no reasoning with me when this is going on.  It’s painfully slow to get one point across, much less the nuance that is involved in dealing with people’s emotions. When I say my brain shuts down, I mean it takes me a minute just to get one thought to come out of my mouth, maybe more. And unless I take great care to keep it in my mind, I forget large parts of whatever stressed me out enough to get me into that state once the stress has passed.

So if anyone has anything that might help please tell me because I don’t really know what’s going on and it’s trashing me emotionally.

I am absolutely disgusted with the FR staff.

A bit of background: I joined FR back on June 10, 2013. I’ve been here since the start, and, even though I don’t usually talk about it, I’ve been keeping tabs on the drama ever since then. This means that I’ve seen all the bullshit that toxic people get away with on here. I’ve seen pedophiles, cyber stalkers, scammers, harassers, death-threat senders, suicide baiters, and more do things horrendous on and off site and get away with it scot-free with not even a slap on the wrist. Even if a dozen people report someone like this with a mountain of evidence, 9 times out of 10 no action is taken.

Do you know what this means for the community?

It means it needs to self-police. People need to make callout posts so others can avoid toxic people. Why? Because the FR admins won’t help you. They won’t protect you. They’ll look the other way while someone harasses you to the point of suicide. So you need to protect yourself. And to do that, you need to know who to protect yourself from. So people make callout posts, usually on tumblr, with evidence from their own interactions or with the evidence provided by others, who are often too afraid to do it themselves. 

But this?

They do nothing about the toxic users that run rampant on site, but then they slam a suspension on someone who tries to protect the userbase by making a callout post on someone who harassed and suicide baited someone to the point of suicide. As if the people making the callout posts were the real threat. Even though there would be no need for callouts if the staff actually did their goddamn job and banned the toxic people in the first place.

Absolutely fucking disgusting.
