WHAT THE FUCK
I loved these books
I read this when I was in elementary school! This took me way back.
“Something brought you here, Flynn Rider. Call it what you will… fate… destiny…” “A horse.”

February writing challenge- Day 24
A time when someone helped you:
It was my freshman year of college and I was still driving my ol’ 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix (loved that car). despite my love for the car it had a lot of issues. I mean A LOT. My silver bullet was quite the gas guzzler, both windows couldn’t roll down, a leak that let water soak in the passenger side floor anytime it rained, and a darn battery that would make me pull my hair out. It was a long day at school. I had just walked down to the lot from my biology class that ended at 6:20pm. I was looking forward to just drive back home (45 mins away) and call it a day. But my silver bullet had other plans. Like decide not to start and leave me in a pile of tears in my car. With my parents being an hour away and sister being at work it was just the cherry on top of a bad day. My sister told me to just ask anyone who walks by to help, but I have a minor form of social anxiety which makes doing something like that much more difficult than it needs to be. Anyways I had to put my big girl pants on and do it so I asked this guy as he walked by if he could help. Poor guy could probably tell I was a hot mess and cried for 1 hour before that. He said he was just going to his girlfriends and apologized and disappeared into the dark. I sat in my car trying to figure out what to do when I saw headlights pull in front of my car. I got so excited thinking it was my sister or something- and then i realized it was that same guy who I had asked for help earlier 😭 he had come back with his girlfriend and her friend sitting in the car and he helped me start my car back up that night. I wanted to cry I was so happy. That guy doesn’t even know the impact he left on me. Such a lifesaver! A simple thing like that really helped me significantly.
February writing challenge- Day 22
A good thing from today:
I was actually feeling pretty down in the dumps today for no particular reason. It was just one of those days where I just couldn’t get myself to snap out of feeling sad and frustrated with myself. BUT after work I went to gym with my sister and busted out a really intense leg workout! I actually feel so much better after spending some time with her, cheering each other on, and getting a good sweat on to remind me of my strengths. Of course most my hard work was reversed when my mom decided to make homemade bread. It was FRESH out the oven. I mean guys HOT HOT. So I took it upon myself and made the executive decision to eat it with Nutella 😛😉 #noregrets. So. Good. I’ll just make up for it tomorrow 😂 anyways THAT is what ultimately made my day amazing 😊 thanks mama for your amazing bread.
February writing challenge- Day 21
Five things you like about yourself:
I honestly haven’t thought about this type of question in a long time. I feel like I’m quicker to criticize myself and find things wrong than I am to focus on things I actually like about myself.
1. I’m a good listener- I will admittedly say that I think I am a great listener. Especially when it comes to being there for my friends and supporting them/offering advice in any way I can.
2. I’m reliable/ you can depend on me- I will drop anything for the people I care about. Even after being walked on so many times, I never want to lose this part of me that always wants to help people in any way I can no matter what.
3. My drive and ambition- although this wavers pretty frequently, I always come back to knowing I am motivated enough to at least TRY to accomplish my goals. I have dreams that I want to live out and am willing to go the distance to get there. Really depends on the day though (haha).
4. My smile- just to change things up a bit, I guess I’ll choose a physical thing I like! There’s not much I would choose besides my smile. It’s the one thing I will consistently get complimented on too which has made a very cheeky grin appear on my face in those moments. I actually like my smile.
5. How passionate I am- I am passionate about so much. My education, being a woman, the environment, equality, helping others, peace and coming together, the list goes on... there’s so much I want to do in this world, and so many ways I want to contribute to making it a better place. All of it is driven by my passions and my upbringing.
February writing challenge- Day 20
The best day you had last week:
February 12th! It was honestly the start of a terrible week from that point forward, but this day in particular was great. We got a snow day in Texas and my dad decided to turn on the fireplace. I LOVE the fireplace. There’s honestly nothing like a hot fire warming your back while reading a nice book and drinking some hot cocoa. I got to spend some extra time with my parents and really cherished being around them without any internet distractions. Oh, and I can’t forget, I got to roast s’mores in the fireplace too!! The gooey, marshmellow-y, chocolate-y, crunchy, sweet goodness was something I missed and brings me back to some amazing memories. It was overall a really good day!!
February writing challenge- Day 19
One way you can help a friend:
Just be there for them. Support them. Listen to them. Show them that no matter what you will be by their side. Be someone they can trust and confide in. But most of all, accept them for who they are. Be honest and trustworthy with them. Be there for them in good times and bad. Good friends make time for one another even when life gets really busy. It never hurts to pick up the phone and reach out and say hi or check in. Good friends might not have to keep in touch every day, but are able to pick up where they left off like they never stopped talking and catch up on life. We all need someone we can confide in and have to support us, and you can help a friend by showing them that you can be that person for them. You don’t always have to be on the same page and agree with one another, but you can be open-minded and understanding and offer different perspectives in a respectful way. This is what I’ve learned I want from my friendships, and I hope to be this type of friend to somebody else and help them this way.
February writing challenge- Day 18
A moment you will always remember:
My first time ever visiting Bosnia as a child is althogether an experience I will never forget growing up. I wish I was old enough at the time to fully appreciate all the moments I had, but one memory always sticks out in particular. I remember it was a really hot day. The sun was scorching our already tanned skin and you could barely look up at the sky. We decided that our adventure for the day would be to go to my grandmas old farm she used to own. I can remember pulling up on the side of the road and seeing tall grass almost my length in height. I remember walking through it, the itchy blades slapping my ankles with every step and making my skin feel itchy. I remember sweat dripping down my temples and looking behind me only to see my mom with her camera trying to tape every step we took. 30 minutes of walking through this only to realize that yes, in fact, the grass was too overgrown to go any further. We turned back around and walked towards the scalding pavement. It was a simple memory really. Nothing extremely special or unique about it. Honestly, it could’ve even been a dream for all I know. But in those moments, in the scalding heat, I remember feeling like I could finally try to understand what it was like for my grandma to grow up in an area like that. I could try to see through her eyes the open beauty and the landscape of a place she had once inhabited. It was unlike anything I had seen before growing up and I sometimes wish I could vividly place a finger on the memory. Simple yet something stuck in the back of my mind until the day I can go back and make the memory a little clearer.
It might be a little late for this, but I really wanted to try to do this journal challenge I found on pinterest for the rest of the month of February. I fell off of doing one of the things I love the most, and that’s journaling. I hope that this will help me get back into it and allow me to be more in tune with myself and maybe think about things I haven’t thought about before! As strange as it might be answering some of these questions on a platform like this, I’m looking forward to sharing these bits and pieces of my life. Pinterest link: https://pin.it/2HDM840
