Kenny from twdg is probably one of my least favorite characters. Yes, I shot him my first S2 playthrough, and yes, I favor Jane over him throughout the game.
Kenny was tolerable in season 1, but even if you disagree with him once about anything, he holds a grudge the entire game and might even leave the player to die in the pharmacy. He's just so unlikable, especially in season 2.
In season 2, of course it's great to see him alive and with clementine again after we thought he was dead, but all throughout the season, he is aggressive and hostile toward everyone, even clem at one point.
Some would argue and say, "Oh well, he lost his wife and kid". I'm not denying that. I'm not saying he's not allowed to be angry about that, but it's no excuse for how he treated clem. His blaming clem for what happened to Sarita is my main reason for not liking him. Blaming an 11-year-old for something like that is insane, especially when he knew full well that she didn't have much of a choice at that point. Sarita was done for when she got bitten.
Kenny is also racist- we see this a bit in season one when he calls Lee "urban", though it's not blatant. In season 2, though, he's more openly racist toward Arvo, a literal kid whose family was just killed.
As a matter of fact, I'm gonna dig deeper into this.
A lot of people praise Kenny for the exact same reasons they hate Violet, and it's giving misogynistic.
People love/feel bad for Kenny when he crashes out or is mean to people, their excuse being that he lost his family.
But suddenly when it's Violet who is mean or agressive, who by the way lost her girlfriend and countless other friends, suddenly she's such a bad person.
Back on the topic of Jane. The reason I actually like her is because she sort of teaches clem good survival skills throughout the game, which she goes on to use in the last 2 seasons. I won't say Jane isn't off-putting, but when it comes to clementine, she's a much safer person to end up with while taking care of AJ. Kenny was unstable, Jane was not.
