plot: cassian is a pirate <3 he's so annoying <3 and he's in jail. he probably robbed something or pissed off the wrong person. your muse can be a partner of his/someone on his ship/an ex/who cares!

he lets out a sigh as his head hits the stone wall behind him. the only thing illuminating them are the distant firelight coming from the guard's station. the air is heavy with the smell of mildew and rot. still, cassian has a shit-eating grin on his face. "you have to admit, that was a little fun, wasn't it?"

Lucy had half of mine to bash his face into the metal bars between them. Even in light of a very dangerous situation for them both he was still laughing. “ I am only going to tell you once to stop talking,” was all she could murder as she placed her face in her hands. It wasn’t outside of the realm of possibility that they would both get the gallows, this region did not take kindly to Pirates

Plot: your muse was taken prisoner by the clan, how they ended up there is up to you! Bjorn feels bad for them, and tries to bring them a plate of food.

Bjorn waited until the last of the feasting had turned to snoring , bellies full, mugs tipped. Everything was quiet now, save for the crackle of the fire and the occasional grunt from someone dreaming. He moved through the wreckage of the meal eyeing what he could scavenge. A few shriveled apples. A half-gnawed ox thigh. Good enough. He piled what he could onto a rough wooden plate, the meat still warm, if only just. With heavy steps, he crossed the ground to where the prisoners lay in shadows. Bjorn stopped before one, his gaze cold but not unkind. “You’ve not eaten,” he said, voice low like distant thunder. “Keep on that path, and the Norns’ll cut your thread before the cold does.”

He held out the plate.

“Eat. You’ll need strength if you plan to live. And warmth, if you plan to sleep.”

It all had happened so quickly. The blood, the bodies and the screaming. It has been so overwhelming, Lucy had been taken without being able to put up much of a fight. She was almost grateful to not have to watch the rest of it unfold. Snores of the men around her almost lulled her to sleep, things had finally become quiet. Alone pair of footsteps stirred her.

Sitting up and putting a hand out in front of herself, Lucy expected to have to try to defend herself. To her surprise, the man’s eyes were kind, hands full of items meant to help her. Perhaps she should’ve been suspicious, but she couldn’t find it in her upon seeing the ox leg. She hesitated for a moment before drawing nearer. Reaching out, she took the plate, careful not to let her hand too close to his. “Should I assume this comes with a price?” at this point, she almost felt willing to pay whatever it would take to stop the small cramping that had started in her stomach.

Lucy had heard of these things, stories from her people morphed into cryptids or things to keep children in bed. Not something that could actively kill her. Seeing the blade she elected to listen to the man, “what kind of spirit?” she whispered back trying not to be too loud.

Salt, she turned heel hurrying up the steps toward the kitchen, they had a small stock build up in the pantry. Grabbing the largest tub she could find she ripped the paper off before hurrying back outside she about stumbled over herself. “Where am I putting this?”

"A vengeful one," he deadpanned, though the answer was honest. "Probably human." He continuing slowly backing towards the steps, knife out and at the ready. "At one point, at least." Before he could explain further, another scream ripped through the trees, and he planted his feet.

Turning to see her return with the salt, he put a hand out to help steady her, gesturing to the threshhold of the door. "Put this here; keep it out of the house. There's got to be an object or something around here that it's attached to. Until we can find it and destroy it, just—take precaution."

“What else could it be if not human?” She could take a few guesses as to what he’d say but, she was far out of her depth enough to not assume. The next scream froze her in place until the echo faded, her blood felt cold. His hand was welcomed and steadied her well enough, outside of the house. Nodding she poured a handful of the substance before starting to make a boundary where he pointed.

Once the salt was laid out she set the tub on the window sill, “okay, how do we figure out which object?” To say whoever owned the cabin as a hoarder was a gentle way to put it. Tons of knick knacks and various dated equipment laid across the property. “I don’t even know name,” she offered quietly to the man.

"I don't care what caused the blood it is as long as it isn't actively coming out of you at this point. Which you still havent said."

"I was going to ignore it since it was not pointed in my general direction. Wouldn't be able to do much to stop you at this point. So what are we doing here?"

"We are getting the hell out of here --- soon as I know you're safe, you're going one way and I'm going the other."

“I hope you know you ought to wash that off soon. Do you need any of it patched?”

“That’s very kind of you all things considered. Guess I’ll follow you. I’m going to guess that’s your only gun?”

His quiet confidence made her look over, she opened her mouth to argue. A shrill scream echoed through the trees, stepping toward the house she frowned. “What things would that be?” Her voice barely broke above a whisper.

At the scream, the knife unsheathed from his jacket, he took a step back of his own, slowly retreating ahead of her towards the house. "Things beyond most people's comprehension," he muttered, letting out a breath. Sharp eyes scanned the tree line in front of them, looking for any sign of movement.

"I've been hunting this spirit for days now," Patrick replied, louder this time, head angled so she could hear without him yelling. "This might be our only chance to bag it before it disappears again. So if you're not going to get inside, then do me a favor and find salt. Lots of it." He glanced over his shoulder. "We're gonna need it."

“I thought-“ she had seen something move. A shadow out in the yard, as quick as it had come it was gone. Her eye furrowed, “I saw something. Felt wrong to let you find it alone.”

"Aye, you did," he answered gruffly, reaching inside his jacket for a weapon. Never once did his eyes leave the yard around them, scanning for any sign of the fast-moving creature. "And I see things every day. It's my job." Sparing the quickest glance at her, he nodded towards the door. "I'm quite used to dealin' with shit on my own."

plot: romantic partner or roommate connection preferred . diego is an ex convict on parole working at a gas station where strange and supernatural things happen at . maybe your muse is one of said supernatural entities or just someone he feels comfortable talking about it with .

he's  glad  to  be  home .  after  the  shift  he's  had  at  that  shitty  little  gas  station  at  the  edge  of  town  past  railroad  tracks  that  lead  to  nowhere,  he's  glad  to  see  at  least  one  face  he  knows  isn't  going  to  be  haunting  his  dreams  tonight.

after  closing  the  door  to  his  apartment,  he  gives  a  weary  smile  seeing  the  back  of  their  head  as they sit  on  the  couch  in  front  of  the  tv.  he  approaches  and quickly  wraps  his  arm  around  their  shoulders  from  behind  and  leans  in  to  bury  his  nose  into  their  hair in a playful greeting .

"what  are  you  still  doing  up,  huh? couldn't sleep 'cause you missed me that much?"  he  teases  before  letting  go  of  them .  he  walks  around  to the front of the  couch  and  runs  a  hand  through  his  dark  curls, his expression tired and confused .  "i  had  the  weirdest  day...  night...  whatever  today."

Her shoulders relax as soon as she hears the door open, he’s in her sight before she could call out to him. Another boring shift, it’s all she ever hoped he’d have. There had been enough chaos. A small smile spreads over her face as he reached up to cup his cheek. Soon he’s standing again, “If I say yes does that mean you’ll bring back sweets next time?”

Seeing his face concern covered her features, “What sort of things?” Luci knew spirits and creatures roamed the town they had settled in. It was what drew her there, her own work with the supernatural had been something she kept close to the chest. “Someone give you trouble?”

The bar was packed shoulder to shoulder, Luci found no reason to be there. But, it was an old friends birthday. Waiting on the drinks she felt the chill of the outside air racing up the back of her legs. After she looked to her friend she stole a look at the most recent patron, a tall handsome fellow. Her eyes lingered on him a moment, though she couldn’t understand why. The ethereal air about him had her reeling until her friend grabbed her arm, shots. Tipping back the amber colored liquid she coughed, “It’s been too long,” she offered reaching for her chaser.

Her eyes cut once more to the stranger, his stare was heavy and his eyes too beautiful. He’s looking- the friend muttered softly teasing the old medicine woman -could keep a bed warm. Elbowing them she took another drink trying to keep her eyes on the tv or the bar beside them. Knocking back another shot with her friends Luci scanned the bar for the man. Liquid courage warmed her chest, daring her to make the first move. One night stands weren’t her thing, but she figured it wouldn’t hurt to try it out.

Pushing off her chair she felt the weight of her choices, “shit-“ stumbling a moment she ran right into a stranger. Hey pretty lady- “Don’t touch me,” she struggled to push the man off of her.

“I don’t care who you are, lower your tone when you talk to her, I don’t mind riding out a little further than normal.”

Lucy’s head lifted when he spoke, her head canted to the side wondering what the other had uttered after. With a nudge of her heel the horse turned starting down the trail, “Thank you,” she offered quietly when he caught up.

“A dimensional rift; it is located in your basement. I built it for security but your mother started using it as cold storage.” Cer said hands above his head as he tied his hair up out of his face. He looked over at Lucinda, eyes taking in every detail of her dress and finding nothing lacking. Holding out his arm he offered her a shawl. It was hand-made from moss and dyed with various plants with protective properties. A gift he would have normally saved for after this test. But the man had full confidence in the woman.

“Feel free to mingle with the other representatives of the gods when we arrive. Try not to be alone with any deity that I have not personally introduced you to. And try not to speak out of turn this time around. As my guest you have certain protections but not on the same level as a priestess. You pass this and your testing and probationary period are over.”

If her heart didn’t feel like it was ready to burst from her chest, she may have found it in her to snort. Her eyes moved to follow his hands as she stepped closer to the man, drinking in the image of him and committing it to memory. A fond thing to look at on a cold night. Her hands took the shawl, only then did she peel her eyes off of him to admire the thing he created. “This is beautiful. It looks like my mother’s,” she offered quietly. She had been buried with her’s by request. 

“Understood,” she offered quietly before setting the shawl on the rail of the steps. Her hands moved to touch the man’s chest, “You look immaculate,” she offered as a warning stepping into his space. One hand draped around the back of his neck while the other moved down the buttons of his shirt, “Intoxicating.” Her voice had lowered a little as she moved to give his hair a small pull to expose his neck, “Too good to go yet.”

A meeting of the gods. It was an intimidating thought to put it politely, not that she dared to voice it. If she was to be at his side, she could not show fear to the gods. Just like her mother. Though the title was not hers yet, she was simply going as a guest. It was a test, to see if she could manage to hold her tongue around being older than her nation.

Sliding the final touch, an ornate piece that held an assortment of tools on her waist. Should he need anything on their way out, “Ready?” she called, fastening her hair with the beaded hair clip. A small part of her home she would always carry with her, walking down the steps of the cabin toward the well-worn path she looked for the other. 

“How do we get there?” her back was to the other as he stepped out onto the patio.
