Now I can finally be free of having drawn Mike's armor; it was torture. Although it was fun designing both of them, what I wanted most was for all of you to be able to visualize what each clothing design looks like.

another thing about mike wheeler not getting a completed queer arc is that it feels like a complete insult to the small details of filmmaking that are incorporated in storytelling. this may completely discredit future filmmakers who code their characters similarly to how they coded mike, even if they fully intend to go through with that storyline.

all the cinematic queer coding of mike wheeler- and when i say this im referring to things completely outside his actions and behavior or really anything dependent on finns acting like the colors, closet imagery, and music- if none of those details mean anything then people will discredit future filmmakers’ tiny details in their stories.

i genuinely worry this will result in the complete disregard for critical thinking when it comes to foreshadowing in film. the best filmmakers know how to visually foreshadow their narratives and characters’ arcs and they will continue to do so, as we have since the beginning of filmmaking, but now people may not take it as seriously. so maybe people now will watch other films and think “well all the queer coding in stranger things didnt mean anything so this may not mean anything either.” its a fucking insult to filmmaking as an art and storytelling form.
