Colette and Crimson go on a road trip.

“I just figured— we needed to get away to get better, y’know? No Evander, no Seb and Eirella. Just you and me,” Crimson was rambling at this point, driving down past the school gates.

Colette laughed lightly at her brother’s rambling, nodding as she listened. “No, I totally agree. I think this is a great idea. Trust me, I’m pretty sure we need this if we ever want the chance to actually stop fighting.” She mumbled, playing with her engagement subconsciously, a nervous habit she had adopted since getting it.

When she got up and rushed to the bathroom Evan raised his eyebrows, following her. When he saw her vomiting into the toilet Evan held her hair back. “Lette, do you know why you’re so sick?” He asked her quietly.

When she had finished throwing up, Colette sat back, steadying herself. Shaking from just having thrown up, she took a minute to answer his question, only nodding her head in response a first. “I’m pregnant.” She mumbled, fidgeting with the skirt of her gown nervously.

Evan held her tightly against her body as he carried her inside. “I’ll take care of you.” He murmured, kissing her gently as he shut the door behind them. Laying her on the bed, he sat down beside her.

Colette shook her head, sitting up as soon as he laid her down. "No, Evan. I'm going to be sick." She told him before rushing to the bathroom and vomitting into the toilet. She knew the reason for all of this, having spoken with the Doctor earlier that day, but she was still having trouble believing it.

“Exactly why we are.” Evan nodded. “We are best friends, no matter what.”

Colette before smiling a little wider. "Forever and always. And nothing will ever change that."

“We balance each other out.” He said quietly. “I love you Lette.” Evan told her quietly.

"That's why mama says we make such good friends." She told softly, giving him a small smile. "I love you too, Evan."

“They may look but they won’t find us.” He shook his head. “We’re leaving the country so they can’t get to us.” Evan murmured. “They may be always trying to keep us apart Colette, but they can’t separate our love forever.” Evan told her, rubbing her back as she gripped his bicep. “Come inside.” He said, picking her up bridal style and carrying her into the cottage.

Colette nodded as she listened, too emotional to say anything. "God, I feel sick." She mumbled as he picked her up, clinging to him like a life line.

Evan wrapped her in a hug. “Yeah, your mama always knows what to do.” He nodded. “I know they did, and I know it’s very likely you won’t. I just have to have hope for you.” He mumbled.

Colette nodded, instantly hugging him back. "At least one of us does then." She muttered with a heavy sigh.

Colette instantly collapsed into his arms, burying her face in the side of his neck as a sob escaped her throat. “They- they did it.” She told him through her tears. “They’re- they’re marrying me off, Evan. They marrying me off to some prince in a far away land that I’ve never met.” She cried, clinging to him tightly.

Evan rubbed her back gently as she cried into his neck. “They won’t get away with this.” He shook his head. “I’m going to take you away. I managed to get the money.” He murmured softly as she clung to him.

"They'll come looking. They'll find us." She murmured bitterly, pulling back slightly and shaking her head. "We can't escape them, don't you see? They'll always be here to keep us apart!" She exclaimed, putting a hand over her mouth as another sob escaped her, gripping his bicep to steady herself.

Evan frowned. “Lette you can tell me anything.” He said, kissing her cheek. As she brushed off her dress he saw the grass stains. “Wait, Lette we can fix that right?” He asked. When she spoke again he lay down beside her. “I know you do Lette. Someday maybe you’ll see him.”

Colette smiled softly at him when he kissed her cheek. "I'll ask my mama when I go home." She shrugged before chewing on her lower lip. "They sent him to the Isle, Evan. I'm never going to see him again. You know that." She mumbled sadly.

Colette instantly collapsed into his arms, burying her face in the side of his neck as a sob escaped her throat. "They- they did it." She told him through her tears. "They're- they're marrying me off, Evan. They marrying me off to some prince in a far away land that I've never met." She cried, clinging to him tightly.

When she sat up, Evan did the same. He looked at her frowning. “Well I’m glad you’re not hurt. What’s the matter?” Evan asked, looking at her curiously. He hadn’t noticed the grass stains on her dress yet, but he looked at his own clothes and deemed them to be alright.

"Nothing." She sighed, not wanting to make him feel bad. He was her best friend after all. Brushing off her dress slightly in an attempt to clean it off some, she sighed, falling back against the hill side and looking up at the clouds. "I miss my papa, Evan."

“Come on Lette that’s not fair!” Evan yelled, running after her as fast as he could. When she stopped running he ran right into her, knocking them both to the ground. “Whoa.” He said. “Are you okay?” He asked.

A giggle escaped Colette's lips as she ran, looking behind her for a brief second as Evan spoke. "Run faster." She called, slowing to a stop so he could catch up. A gasp escaped her lips as he ran into her, sending her rolling to the ground. "Yeah, I'm fine." She nodded, sitting up and frowning slightly when she noticed the grass stains on her dress.

Colette is a member of the royal family and Evan is a lowly peasant.

Colette raced out of the castle, tears streaming down her face. She needed to get out of there- away from her controlling parents and the way they loved to plan out every detail of her life for her. She ran through the woods, jumping over logs and ducking tree branches as made her way to the all to familiar cottage. Hoping that her true love would be there.
