the sound of glass breaking makes joo jump and flinch. he should be used to the sound since he’s broken his fair share of glasses before but his mind had jumped to the worst conclusion, assuming that the man had broken a soju bottle and was going to threaten him with it. the grip the young male had on the older’s arm must have been quite tight because the man seems to back off rather quickly. although, the annoyance on the elder’s face is quite visible as he’s rubbing at his sore wrist and then asking for the check. it’s then that his manager makes her appearance and taking care of the situation. joo is fine with it then he can thank the stranger, “thank you for stepping in. i probably shouldn’t have provoked him. um…i’ll cover your meal as thanks so thank you really. i’m forever grateful.” with that joo was giving a bow out of respect. 

Seokjin watches the other man walk away, taking his check as the manager deals with him. Once he’s gone, his annoyed look melts away, as he’s now concerned for the younger man in front of him. “No no, don’t worry about the food.” He offers his hand to him ,wondering if he could take a look at where the other held his arm. “He sounded like he needed to be kicked out a few drinks ago. But are you okay? I can’t believe someone would think that’s an okay thing to do in a restaurant. Goodness.”

“please calm down sir.” joo should have cut him off, but when he went to tell his manager to suggest the idea his manager just told him that as long as the man was willing to buy more drinks then joo should continue to serve him. he knew that they made a lot of money off of drinks, but he knew that having a drunk in the restaurant wasn’t exactly a great idea, but he couldn’t go against his manager. besides, she said that if the group made a ruckus then it was fine since it was pretty late and there were only a few people left in the restaurant. apparently, the man did not enjoy being told to calm down so the next second there’s a tight grip on joo’s wrist and he’s wincing at the pain but also the smell of alcohol that’s wafting over from the man isn’t pleasant either. if his manager could interrupt now that would be really good.

Seokjin prefered to stay on the farther end of things, keeping his eyes on his own glass as he waited for his meal to arrive. However, watching the scene unfold before him, he grew more and more uneasy. He’s dealt with his own fair share of drunkards with his work, so he feels sympathy rise in his chest as he watches the younger man interact with the customer. His glass slams onto the tabletop, making a small clattering noise with his dinnerware as he walks off. “You let him go.” He speaks firmly, taking the arm of the elder man, the same one that held the employee. “Now.”

       His fingers swirl around the rim of the glass, the moisture the skin has picked up from the glass running with condensation allowing a small hum to be produced. Seokjin just needed a moment to himself, to unwind. So he cut his previous engagement short, and hid himself away in this little bar, occasionally watching the moving bodies on the dance floor. “Always like this in here?” He raised an eyebrow, looking at the other male. “I’m used to my usual hole in the wall smelling like stale beer and being deathly silent, forgive me.”
