His eyes ached. Everything in this forest was too bright, he couldn’t sleep. The phrase·‘too much of a good thing’ echoed between his ears: a symphony. Curling up among the flowers, the colours became too vibrant, they hurt his eyes.·
"I ʜᴀᴛᴇ ᴛʜɪs" He breathed, rubbing at his eyes, stomach churning from the sweetness that filled his nose. "I ʜᴀᴛᴇ ɪᴛ, I ʜᴀᴛᴇ ɪᴛ, I ʜᴀᴛᴇ ɪᴛ!!" Scrambling up to his feet, Chansik ripped at too-green grass, tearing apart vibrant petals. These were not the beautiful parts of nature he dedicated so much of his life to! This was fake. "...ɪᴛ's ᴀʟʟ ғᴀᴋᴇ." Looking around, his chest ached as the fae gulped down air into his lungs - though even the air felt wrong and he did not know why. "ʜᴇʟᴘ ᴍᴇ!" He screamed to deaf ears, "sᴏᴍᴇᴏɴᴇ ᴘʟᴇᴀsᴇ ʜᴇʟᴘ ᴍᴇ!" But no one was there. No one was ever there. No rose coloured glasses could dim the horrors of reality. He had taken to his feet, eyes frenzied. He felt as if he were home in each forest he had been to but these trees were strangers. His legs buckled as he ran, voices whispering in his ears, 'come back!','we'll keep you company!'we love you!' 'chansik don't leave us!' 'you have no one else to go to, just stay with us' He ran faster, tears clinging to his lashes. "ʟᴇᴀᴠᴇ ᴍᴇ ᴀʟᴏɴᴇ!" He bellowed to the voices, turning his head away from the darkness at the end of the path. Looking back to it he had realized just how close he was. The closer he got the stronger the pull back was, he was fighting tooth and nail. But he had breached it. He had come out! He couldn't see, the bright lights had burned out his sight like walking into a dark room. Closing his eyes he waited for his eyes to adjust before opening them again...--
