as slippery as your mind is;
@mxyonghwa
it’s tempting to trace fingers over brightly colored illustrations, to drag the pad of his index finger along the contour of the figures and forms that illustrate the book. jeongguk is fascinated by the drawings and almost regretted the fact that he had still lived under the surface of the water in his early developmental years where paper books would have turned to mush.
but he’s not going to give this asshole of an old man the satisfaction of knowing his interest, not when he so stubbornly teased someone of his age for not being able to get through a book written for human children under the age of six. it was all the revenge he could muster for lecture upon lecture of what ease yonghwa was able to make friends with. why not jeongguk too? the boy didn’t think it was so simple; maybe with age and experience he’d be okay with letting people into and out of his life without fear of being hurt, but in his short years that was not the case.
“aren’t you embarrassed at all?” he’s got his greatest judgmental look on his face, lips turned down and nose wrinkled the slightest bit. “you’re not in the suggested reading age range for this. not even close. do you even know any six year olds?”
