* KATIE STEVENS, CIS WOMAN + SHE/HER  | you know ALEXANDRA LOWELL, right? they’re TWENTY-TWO, and they’ve lived in irving for, like, FOUR YEARS? well, their spotify wrapped says they listened to DON’T START NOW BY DUA LIPA like, a million times this year, which makes sense ‘cause they’ve got that whole CHERRY RED LIPS, MUSIC THROUGH IPHONE SPEAKERS, AND MISSED CALLS AT 2 AM thing going on. i just checked and their birthday is NOVEMBER 24TH, so they’re a SAGGITARIUS, which is unsurprising, all things considered. 

alexandra elise lowell was born and raised in myrtle beach, virginia as the middle child of 3, her fraternal twin brother being older than her by 2 minutes.

alexandra has always been extremely outgoing from a young age, she has always loved making new friends and meeting new people everywhere she went. she often hung out with the rich kids due to the fact that her father was a famous screenplay writer that had settled in myrtle beach after alex and her twin brother were born and her mother is a retired lead woman of a popular band from the early 90s.

alexandra is pretty much a mini me of both of her parents, while she has always loved writing her own screenplays for both movies and shows as well as theater screenplays, she has also always loved performing and was even in a famous local band herself when she was 14 years old with some of her best friends from high school.

when alex was 18 years old, she decided to go to college in irving because she had pretty much gotten bored of her hometown and because her and her twin brother had been planning on going to college together since they were 6 years old. her entire family followed behind and her younger sibling started and finished high school in irving while her and her brother are in their final year of college in irving.

alex’s band don’t go to the same college as her, but they all agreed to move to irving together as well, so that they could one day be discovered and still be able to make music together without it having to be over the phone all the time.

walking into scuba, clementine sat down at the stranger’s seat and quickly downed the shot that he had clearly intended on buying for himself or someone else, for that matter. the brunette couldn’t afford to buy her own drinks yet and this was the best way for her to get free drinks from someone else, something she had been doing since she was a teenager. “thanks, i really needed that.” she replied, looking at him. “do you mind buying me another one? i’ve had a pretty rough day.”

it felt bittersweet being back home for clementine, although she had always hated to admit it, this place always gave her fond memories of her childhood with her siblings. she knew she fucked up by leaving, but she just wasn’t ready for the responsibility of having to take care of her younger siblings so young and fled. clementine had been at the local gas station for hours, contemplating on whether or not she should go pay her siblings a visit, when someone cut her in line as she was just about to pay for her cigarettes. “excuse me?” she replied, tapping the other on the shoulder. “the line’s back there.”

 “he’s  a  local  stray,”  that  suchs’  unofficially  adopted  -  had  been  taking  care  of  for  years  since  she  came  to  irving,  even  now.  the  dog  lets  her  feed  him  from  her  hand.  “still  haven’t  given  him  a  name.  ideas?”  demanding,  not  asking. / @clementinesfm .​

“he’s adorable.” clementine admitted with a small grin as she continued to pet the dog. looking up at the other, she then put her hands on her chin to think. “what about scrappy?” she asked.

the other’s comment made max sigh in relief,a short chuckle escaping her lips.”thank god! one less embarrassing thing to keep me up at three in the morning.” a smile was displayed on her lips,her hands griping her guitar.”what are you doing here so late? thinking about life and regretting all of your decisions until now?”

clementine couldn’t help but laugh at the other’s comment. “honestly, felt, if i don’t go to bed at four in the morning, there’s something wrong with me.” she admitted, her own thoughts always tended to keep her up at night, especially since she wasn’t the best kind of person. “you could say that, although i don’t wanna bore you with my entire life story so also no.”

a scoff — escaped his lips at her words. something didn’t feel right about this. maybe it was just the fact that he had been alone, had to be the person he needed for his little sister. maybe it was just the anger. maybe it was jealousy. whatever it was, he didn’t like it. he didn’t like her being here. “that’s funny. can’t even remember her name.” why would he expect her to? she was only a few months old when clem left. “i’m telling you now.” his voice was now stern, instead of its typical soft tone. “you’re not allowed around her. if i find out you have talked to her, been around her, or anything. we’re going to have problems.” lukas began to step backwards. “i’m trying to give her the childhood we never had. i’m trying my best to keep her normal. she doesn’t need you coming in to ruin it. she doesn’t even know who you are. and we’re going to keep it that way.” 

looking up at her younger brother with sadness in her eyes, she folded her arms. “okay, that’s not fair.” she replied, the eldest renolds always tried her best to make an effort with her siblings unlike their mother, but she was also left to take care of two kids when she was just a kid herself and she needed the break. “of course, i remember her name, i helped mom pick it.” she replied, especially since their mom was too high to even come up with a name for her at the time. “problems? you gonna call the cops on your own flesh and blood, luka?” she asked, genuinely curious. “i’m not here to ruin it, i genuinely missed you both.”

a huff — escaped his lips. “i’m surprised you remember me. i figured your brain would be too fried to even comprehend this place was still here.” he expected her to. you can forget some people, but not everyone. and something deep in him had hoped she’d remember him. lukas hoped she’d remember him, give him a hug, apologize, and tell him everything would be okay. but deeper down, he didn’t want that. he wanted her to leave. “why are you here? get tired of running?” he popped his skateboard up into his hand. he remembered it all. the memory of a young thirteen-year-old boy, watching his sister leave. a thirteen-year-old boy who was now left to take care of a newborn and try to make a functioning home. “did you get tired of pretending this place wasn’t real? why? why are you here?”

she nervously chewed on her thumbnail before then looking back up at her brother, who had finally gotten at least two inches taller than her after all these years, making her not only feel small on the inside, but the outside as well. “of course, i remember you, even if i was too high to remember anyone else, i’d remember you and our kid sister.” she admitted. she had always known she had never really been the best sister, it was one of the reasons as to why she even decided to leave home in the first place after high school, but she’d be lying if she had said she never cared for her younger siblings. she has always loved them to death even if she was never the best at showing it. “can’t a girl just wanna visit her favorite siblings without there being some sort of ulterior motive?” she asked. there had actually been something she needed due to a debt she owes someone during her life of crime with her ex, but her brother didn’t need to know that. “what i just said, i wanted to see you two. is that a crime?”

berry shrugged — her shoulders lightly. she never really understood the point of smoking. the smell was awful enough to her, there was no need to taste it. “i think right by that door. it was a good bit of time ago, though.” the blonde quickly began to dig into her purse. “here….” she handed out a five dollar bill. “go get you one.”

clementine grinned. she had always known smoking was bad for her, but it was a stress reliever for her in a way; without it, she’d just be an anxious mess. “thanks.” she replied before then shaking her head as the blonde handed her money. “i can’t take this, you’ve helped me enough already.” she admitted. “and besides, i already have the money, but thank you, i appreciate the sentiment.”

a wave — of shock flooded through the boys veins as he heard the voice. it couldn’t be her? could it? it’s been ten years. he kept count. how could he not? the male was under the belief that siblings never let siblings down. he held that focus for their younger sister. before she could pick up the cigarette, he put his foot on it and twisted it into the ground. “you have some fucking nerve coming back here.” his veins were now burning hot with the years of anger he had. lukas’ foot kicked it to the side. 

anger slowly builds up as the younger male stepped on her cigarette. smoking had always been one of the few things that had calmed the woman down, so it was no surprise that she was upset when the other had stepped on her cigarette. “what the fu-” she replied before then pausing as she was about to get angry at the other and then finally looked up. “luka?” she asked, her and her siblings had never really been close, not since she grew up; there was a time that clem couldn’t possibly imagine life without her siblings, but once she turned 18, leaving the nest had been one of the many things she had always dreamed of doing even though she knew it probably wasn’t the best leaving her younger brother in charge of their kid sister, especially since he was still a kid himself.

wesley blew out an obnoxious puff of smoke past his split lips, letting the cigarette dangle between his forefinger and thumb in a 1920s fashion. he glanced down at clementine sitting lazily on the bench. “nope. no lighter here,” he deadpanned, wanting to stir up a reaction considering it was a flat out lie. he let an uncomfortable amount of time past before a cheesy smile spread across his mouth. “kidding. naturally i always carry matches around, in case i want to spontaneously commit arson.”

clementine watched as the other blew out a puff of smoke from his lips, licking her own lips as she waited for the other to hand her a lighter. looking up at the other, she then stood up straight as she felt like the other had been silently judging her for slouching. “mhmm, i’ll believe it when i see it.” she admitted, chuckling a bit. she could tell that the other had been a smoker just like her, it was one of her gifts for lack of a better word, knowing her kind of people, so to speak. “my only question is when and where?”

with a — purse of her lips, berry gently shook her head. she had found herself on a park bench, taking in the surrounding area as she graded papers. she never imagined there would be a need for a lighter of sorts. so, she didn’t think to bring one. “i’m sorry, deary. i don’t have one.” her thick norwegian accent spoke out. “i think i saw a man around the corner with one, though.”

with an exasperated sigh, clementine shook her. she was upset about the fact that no one she knew seemed to have a light for her to light her cigarette, but she wasn’t mad at the other. “there’s no need to apologize, it’s fine.” she replied with a small smile. “really, where in the corner did you see him again?”

                                    of course he has a light, an LED dollar-store special attached to a carabiner that’s flecked silver, the metallic blue paint chipped from years of wear. he unclips it, presses the button — light immediately dissolving against day. ‘   the extinction of halogen light bulbs will be the death of us all.    ’ a serious sigh escapes, his palm cupped over the end of the mini flashlight to prove a point. no heat. of course, he has a pack of matches in the bottom right pocket of his cargo pants and a lighter in his breast pocket, but that’s not the point. ‘   you should never leave home without your lighter.   ’

she’s caught off guard when the other takes out a literal light, not expecting that to be the light that he brings out. she watches in awe and utter shock as the light shines on her face. “ i- ” she replied before then crossing her arms. “ so do you or do you not have a light? a real one, not whatever the hell this is. ”

clementine had been walking around town, looking for something to do out of boredom, but then decided to take a break and sat on the nearest bench. the young woman then went through her purse to look for her light, but it was nowhere to be found. “shit!” she exclaimed, taking her cigarette pack and a cigarette out anyway. “got a light? i left mine at home.”

another day — another attempt at avoiding returning home. sure, he should find his way there. but there was no reason to. his sister was staying with a friend and it would just be him. this is how he found his foot pushing him and his skateboard down the road. lukas had just gotten off work for the day. another day. another penny. he was lost in his music that was spiraling into his earbuds when he felt his body collide into another. “oh shit.” he cooed out. “i’m so sorry!” he stated as he pulled himself off the ground. “are you okay?”

the eldest renolds had just returned to town from california, for no other reason, other than she needed to borrow money from her family, but they didn’t have to know that. she had just finished unpacking her things and decided to go for a late night walk and a quick smoke break when the other had bumped into her, causing her to drop her bud. “hey, watch it!” she replied, not even realizing who she’s talking to as she goes to pick up her cigarette. “ugh, now i have to throw this away, thanks, kid.”
