He had to admit that her scars were enough to cause him to pause for a moment. Her figure didnât hint towards her being any sort of fighter, and yet the wounds were something he would have associated with one. Vicious and countless stab wounds lined her forearms, and Goten found himself hissing in sympathy. The urge to reach out and take her hand as she drew her sleeves back down was something he had to fight against as well. Injuries like that, one someone of her stature⊠he didnât want to jump to conclusions butâŠ
Abuse was really the first and most logical explanation.
Something heavy slammed down over his heart at her words, and he found himself drawing away from her. âYes. I lost someone.â Gotenâs tone was flat as he spoke. His words were agreeing with her, but everything else about how he said them made it clear that he was far from being agreeable.
âEveryone lost someone. Fuck, youâre likeâ one of those sick-ass psychics who go around giving everyone false hope before ruining their lives with the realization that nothing good will ever happen again.â
A heavy scowl creased his features as he reached out to snag her wrist. âYouâre getting out of here, and I never want to see you againââ
Her lips pursed at that accusation. Why would she give the ones she loved a false hope? She wanted to bring comfort and peace to them all, not to hurt them with a betrayal like that. Savora opened her mouth to state otherwise, but then he grabbed her wrist with the intent of kicking her out.
âThen if my words alone will not help you...â
She placed her other hand on top of his, a small hush coming from her as she inhaled. Words, all in a soothing tone albeit in a language not understandable, gently flowed from her like a mantra. This was what she wanted to do, this was what she had to do. Her eyes shut, smile on her face all the while.
It was magic, truly, as simply listening to them brought a sense of comfort, of a weight being lifted from oneâs shoulders. A sense of peace washed over him, as if the scars of the past were fading away.
âThis feeling. This warmth. This is what I wish for you and for everyone. Not just now, but for forever. Please, let me take these burdens from you. You do not deserve to suffer any more.â
