Participated in a sticker making workshop today, so these are my warmup sketches for the day haha

I'm wondering if I cleaned these up and made them into actual stickers if anyone would be interested in them? (I'm gonna play around with the compositions of the stickers a bit so they'll likely look different when they're done, but these are the mockups)

Question: is there anywhere you can hire people for research? In this specific case I know someone who is disabled who was trying to research some living arrangement stuff (for sleeping set ups and other household supplies and trying to find wheelchair and other stuff+ friendly apartments and so on) so rather mundane but fairly indepth with tracking down the reviews, more on each company, on if this compiled article recommendation has any actual knowledge behind it or is just cash grabbing or affiliate linked, having no filter for relevant needs, etc. I do not have the spoons or knowledge for all of that stuff either, but does anyone have any idea where I can find some fairly reliable research geeks?

Reddit unfortunately also comes up with a lot of old, debunked, or unclear answers so so far that has been rather a bust. Obviously there is no single right answer in a lot of these topics but narrowing it down would be so so helpful.

This is a little drawing I made for a cute Christmas-themed Poirot/Hastings text game that's on AO3 called The First Day of Christmas by ZophobasMorio.

In the game, Hastings and his kids live with Poirot, and after the little ones have gone to bed, Hastings and Poirot enjoy some quiet time on the sofa by the fireside.

In the game you play Arthur and can perform a variety of tasks like look at the clock, talk to Poirot, even kiss Poirot! It is so much fun not just in December!

Three Christmases with the Poirot-Hastings household

After Dulcie's untimely passing in 1936, a lost and heartbroken Hastings returns to England with their four children. They end up settling into a Whitehaven Mansions flat at Poirot's offer, and over the following years he grows close to the family...

I'm sorry, I'm supposed to believe Hastings wasn't in love with Poirot in the actual ITV series with the way he reacts to Japp not wanting to dive right into investigating the Big Four to avenge Poirot? Really? He practically has tears in his eyes after his blustering speech. He's in his sixties, he has always been a beanpole of a man, and he's raring to go fist-fight his way through half of London to strike a blow at the Big Four. Just for Poirot, for his memory, to do something that might fill the void that was left behind when that bomb exploded.

I love these scenes from the book, where Hastings goes on a vengeful rampage against the Big Four and is fully prepared to die (Poirot, who had intended for Hastings to leave the country and return to safety after his "death", has to arrange a whole trickery to bring him into the secret so they can fight the Big Four together)

i love this quote from Hercule Poirot's "autobiography" because its two possible meanings are:

the person who came up with Poirot's most iconic catchphrase is actually Hastings himself

or

Poirot will compulsively shoehorn his beloved Hastings into any conversation, no matter how thoroughly unrelated he is to the topic at hand

This is a scene from the text adventure game, The Little Four! Congrats to The Little Four for placing as one of the top 20 games in the 2025 Interactive Fiction Competition!!

I highly recommend giving the game a play through or two! Gameplay is pretty simple, you don't need any fancy bells and whistles, just an internet browser and an active imagination! Simply type your action commands into the computer and have fun listening to our own Captain Hastings' musings about the people and objects around him!

The game is really well-written and, to me at least, it reads like an Agatha Christie book, and you really feel like you're in Hastings' head, hearing his thoughts about everything! Also, Monsieur Bob is there!! If you like the books (and if you like Monsieur Bob!), I highly recommend that you go check it out! (And, FYI: no spoilers, but there's quite a few little easter eggs in there for us Hastirot shippers, so don't be afraid to get a little cheeky with your action commands! 😉)

I also have it on good authority that there will be a more in-depth version of the game coming out soon-ish, so if you’d like to give the current version of the game a playthrough or two and tell the author what you think, I’m sure such commentary would be welcome!

Hullo!

I've just published an interactive Poirot story—a sort of text-based slice-of-life game mixing together elements from the books and the TV show. I'm very excited to share it with you all!

It's been entered into an interactive fiction competition (IFComp) and can be found on this page until October 15th. Afterwards, it'll migrate to another site.

A few wonderful people from here have already generously contributed as beta-readers and testers before release, but there are certainly still bugs or other issues. If you spot something that seems off or if anything is giving you trouble, don't hesitate to get in touch with me on here or at [email protected].

If you're enjoying the text-based format, I encourage you to stick around and browse the other entries, and maybe even cast some votes! The competition can always use more judges—the main requirement is to play and rate at least 5 games by October 15th. The only other requirement is to be sporting and assign all scores with thoughtfulness and good faith. A lot of hard work went into the entries, and they all deserve a fair shake!

There's so much more I wanted to add and improve which sadly had to be put off due to the deadline, but I hope you enjoy the experience regardless. :-) Thank you for being such a lovely community! (I am hoping to prepare an improved post-comp version later in the year after taking all the feedback into account)

As per my previous post re: Japp's and Hastings' beach wear and there never having been an episode in the show that showed our favourite polycule in swim wear.... WE HAVE BEEN ROBBED! Can you imagine Japp in one of those revealing trunks? I know I can! Hastings would have tried to hide his beauty with one of the long sleeved trunks, but he would have failed utterly, because the fabric would have clung to his body in very indecent ways making Poirot glad he's in his finest dandy outfit, safely on the beach in a deck chair watching the whole spectacle.

Another one about Poirot and Hastings being in love. I’ll stop making them when they stop being so in love!

They’ve known each other for so long, and they continue to choose each other. Regardless of anyone else who may come and go, at the end of the day, it’s the two of them.

First Poirot's like Hastings what does this "Hussie" mean?

And Hastings does not explain it well AT ALL and Poirot has to give him a polite little okay-I-have-no-idea-wtf-you-just-said nod&smile

and then they get inside & Hastings is acting all suave & brave like he'll go in first and make sure the receptionist isn't. like. Medusa or something

and then, when Hastings sees the receptionist, all 2 of the thoughts in his pretty little head go flying out the window

And then it cuts back to Poirot who is like

Oh. So that is "Hussie".

And THEN when Poirot comes to rescue Hastings from his acute loss of all coherent brain function, his voice gets all silky and sensuous and he says "It is alright. I will look after him"

and then he calls to Hastings and looks at him LIKE THIS

and then he gives the receptionist this JEALOUS LOVER LOOK

He may be cute & dumb & think he's into you but He is mine so don't you even think about it, Jezebel

and then as they're leaving, he gives Hastings THESE TWO LOOKS

I really must keep the shorter leash on you, mon cher

yes!! I love that special brand of displeasure Poirot gets when Hastings is getting too close to suspects (and his tendency to physically drag/push Hastings away)
