It’s been like this for years and it’s just a common thing to me. Whenever I do something that doesn’t interest me, I tend to not do it. It’s a common attitude among people, right?
Anyways, it’s been happening to me since the first few weeks of 2nd sem. My mood slowly went down ever since I got my braces and I stopped wanting to work hard. I don’t know what sparked it, but even until now it’s still happening. I’m slowly working on my overdue activities, but even those activities I don’t really want to do anymore. Oh well. I did accept my fate for long.
The only problem I have is other ppl being disappointed. I do hate to disappoint, but things just stay the same. I don’t know how to change. oh well.
If only I could turn back time and do things all over again then maybe I’d change the bad that I’ve done, you know? No matter what I do, everything’s still the same. It’s just the same old stuff over and over again. All I can do is just shrug it off.
I hope i get my motivation back to do other stuff after school. I’ve been meaning to do personal projects like illustrations or animations. Aside from illustrating, I’ve also wanted to other stuff like travelling outside the province again. There’s quite a lot that I can do. I just need to manage my scheduling. My scheduling is the worst right now. No matter how hard I try to schedule myself, I’d still ignore disregard it. I do truly believe there’s something wrong with me and I understand that. I’ll see to it that before I graduate, I finally sort out my entire life, my entire existence.
My Empowerment Technology Class pt. 2 (within the era that I slowly started to lose motivation to do anything but I won’t talk about that here)
Even in the Internet, we still follow a set of rules and etiquettes when interacting with strangers and various content we consume. We call this ‘netiquette’. We should also exercise Internet security and privacy in order to keep ourselves protected. I learned that you should always think twice before downloading random stuff from the Internet. Always
I don’t really like research. I had a bad history with it, but I guess research can really be useful sometimes. I’m just really not into it. If there’s one thing I learned about when it comes to researching for your “review of related literature” is that you shouldn’t trust Wikipedia when trying to find sources. Or at least that’s what I learned from my research teacher back in 8th grade.
The performance task we had was the service learning and although it was kind of hectic during the progress, it still turned out good! I’m part of the creatives committee aside from working on the icebreaker and I got to say it was a pleasant experience exercising my craft! Me and my groupmates were working on this one theme inspired by the artstyle of @/cysketch on Twitter. It was really cute and really fun to do. I took charge of coloring and rendering as the others were doing the same aside from lineart.

I’m glad I got to learn a few lessons from my service learning, like how to set up a blog/website, what graphics design to fit your aesthetic, and other online platforming tips.
All in all EmpTech is indeed an interesting subject and I’m glad I got to learn a few in this subject :>
My Empowerment Technology Class pt. 1 (that I kinda had as much fun as my other two art subjects)
Empowerment Technology (aka. EmpTech) is a subject that had been added in the start of the second semester of this school year. In this subject we learn about different topics that relate to technology. We started off with the introduction to information and communication technology (ICT). We learned what it’s about plus its history and how it impacted us through the years. We depend on ICT for communication and information in this new era. With the improvement and advancement of technology, the more we get to learn about their uses.
We then talked about applied productivity tools. These tools are what we use for our school activities and businesses. Examples of these are Word, Zoom, Canva, Excel, Slides, and many more.
Then I made my very first autograph in Google Forms. It was the first project of this subject that I enjoy very much. I decided to make it with the theme of the otome game “Obey Me” (which I’m greatly obssesed with for 2 years). I made in the style of a “get to know you” form with some witty questions. I had fun making the form with stock knowledge from the game, making references and other stuff. I don’t know any of the participants’ impression on my forms if they genuinely had fun or not. Either way, I will keep that form with me and if possible I would love to share it with anyone else that I’d like to know more.
My Service Learning Experience! (I actually enjoy being an icebreaker host)
The activity, the whole class of Arts and Design Section HH did, happened in a Saturday, 30th of April, 2022, from 9AM to around 10AM in a Zoom meeting. The topics were about the differences of a blog and a website, as well as their similarities, later followed by three recommended website builders and their pros and cons. The objective of the session was to deliver an effective presentation that is clear and concise. My role in the presentation was being part of the Creatives Committee as well as the host of the first icebreaker activity. Other classmates were also part of the Creatives Committee, as well as the Research Committee, Technical Committee, presenters, opening remarks, prayer, QnA forum, trivia, and closing remarks.
It was my first-time being part of a service training and I will not lie when I say that it was a pleasant experience. It truly was. I was surprised at how well I handled the icebreaker activity despite the lack of time as it ticks without stop. I did feel pressured but pushed through, nonetheless. My performance reminded me of the days in junior high where students were auditioning for news broadcasting. I never paid much attention due to my poor schedule management and my grades in the academic sense were kind of dwindling. I never thought to be good in broadcasting myself because the way I speak is not that ideal to me. It was until now that I have contained that broadcaster voice, or the voice of a host doing a talk show. When I thought of it again, it made me think that if I didn’t get to prepare enough, if I was lazing around more than usual then I wouldn’t have pulled off such a performance. I also thought that no one would actually like the activity I prepared, specifically the one I hosted since I made the two icebreaker activities with a little help with the help of the other icebreaker host. It was a last-minute preparation for the first technical rehearsal. It still went splendidly, with many participants joining in the activity, which I hadn’t expected for a percentage of 40%. As much as I loved how it went all-in-all, I didn’t like how nervous I truly felt. There were a total of over 70 participants, so I pushed myself to impress them with my enthusiasm and the activity I rushed. Other than that, there’s not much I can say about the service-training that I didn’t like. It still went extremely well in the end.
Service-learning work is actually fun to do, especially when you put your full dedication into it. If you’re interested in doing an activity like this, then the experience would really be something to look forward to and look back when you do this in the regular. With service-learning, I can ease my anxiety talking by doing something I’m comfortable at. However, as much as this service-learning is a jog for the brain and communicating skills, I don’t really see myself staying in the zone for long, for I would rather do other things that I love to do deep in my heart. But if given the opportunity to do another session like this, I would try to accept it again and maybe take a different role, one that still involves me in the creative section as well as part of the presentation where I unmute my mic.
Because of my service-learning, I am exposed and aware on how service-learning works. I have understood what students or trainees should do in a service-learning. I have learned and experienced what is like to be an icebreaker host, as well as being part of the committee that helps with the theme and all-in-all appearance of the presentation. I have also learned the way of working as a whole class. Of course, this isn’t my first time teaming up with the whole class for an activity, specifically a performance task, but doing it in an online class hit different from the usual face-to-face. I would like to appreciate our teacher for giving us this opportunity for our first success in a service-training.
p.s. at this moment i realized that if i were to have this enthusiasm in me in junior high, i could’ve applied for broadcasting. maybe get the chance to be a talkshow host??? or any other host of some gig
