On 4/5 January 2011 Louis slept over at Harry’s house and called it ‘home’ (check the time stamp. He had to already be there).
Five days later, on 10 January 2011 Harry would tweet this:

Louis said one of his favourite songs was ‘Look After You’ by The Fray several times (he even recorded a cover it and uploaded it to his YouTube channel). But he only directly tweeted about it once, on 23 September 2011, a week after Eleanor was introduced to the public:

By this point, remember, Louis was supposed to be entering an exciting new relationship. Why the angst? Also, by this point, he and Harry were living together officially.
On 18/19 December 2012 Harry got a ship tattoo on his left arm. He basically hopped off the plane and went to the tattoo parlour. The next day Louis went to the same tattoo parlour and got the compass on his right forearm by the same tattoo artist (Freddy Negrete) and in the same style.
When asked about what the ship tattoo meant, the artist said that Harry wanted a realistic looking English ship, because “he misses home and needs to remind himself that he’s homeward bound”. Coincidentally, Louis’s compass points to ‘Home’ instead of North. Also, Harry has a tattoo that says ‘HOME MADE’ right below the ship.
On 23 March 2013, when the iron closet got significantly tighter (this is a few weeks after he and Louis tweeted about each other for the last time until this year), Harry replied to this tweet:

In late 2012/early 2013, Harry, Louis and Liam wrote Right Now. It has two stories embedded into one. One about a person that’s touring and missing their significant other (I’m guessing Liam and Danielle/Sophia?) the other one about being with your your significant other by your side as an equal while touring. It does mention ‘Home’ (‘and we won’t be going home, for so long, for so long, and I know, that I won’t be on my own’), but I’m only softly including it because they don’t call the person home. They do, however, mention home as a singular place despite the verse talking about two people.
In April 2015, during the only period of time that Harry and Louis were separated for longer than two weeks, Louis and Liam wrote Home.
And it’s alright, calling out for somebody to hold tonight. When you’re lost, I’ll find the way. I’ll be your light. You’ll never feel like you’re alone. I’ll make this feel like home.
The song was a B-side of the Perfect EP. This is what Liam said about it:
While Liam Payne said “Home” (available on the “Perfect” EP) is the most meaningful song for him but demurred about exactly why that is, he revealed Tomlinson (…) tapped into his emotional side while writing and recording.
“Having seen different things he’s gone through and different stuff this year – and obviously I’ve written a lot of songs with him – he can really get into that sensitive mindset to write songs, which is pretty cool,” said Payne.
The song can be clearly interpreted as coming to terms with one’s sexuality.
Around the same period of time, Harry wrote If I Could Fly. According to Julian Bunetta, he asked Harry why he wanted to call it ‘If I Could Fly’, which is only mentioned once in the whole song, at the beginning, followed by…
If I could fly, I’d be coming right back home to you. I think I might give up everything, just ask me to.
Louis tweeted about the song multiple times the day it came out and him and his mum supported Project Home a lot when it happened. Most notably, Louis wore this shirt days before the project started (and when everyone was talking about it and gearing up for it):

Not only does he mention ‘home’, but it’s the last word in the song. This song is the lyrical embodiment of the ship tattoo:
Wherever I go you bring me home = he misses home and he needs to remind himself that he’s homeward bound
It’s also funny because this song mentions rope, and Strong, another song that’s filled with imagery about both of them starts ‘My hands, your hands, tied up like two ships.’
