the thing abt wish list not being believable is so true bc if that was really what she wanted there’s literally nothing stopping her lol she could have never worked again and disappeared tracy chapman style pretty much any time after the 1989 era and been totally fine. but she is so obviously obsessed with awards and charts and $$ and attention. which is fine!! that’s like one of the only things i’ve never judged her for bc it makes sense as an artist to want recognition in your field. but why are we writing a song about how all we want is kids and a man when nothing about everything we do indicates that. at best it’s not believable and at worst it’s lowk giving ballerina farm tradwife to be like “women should love giving birth and being at home” meanwhile she literally has a job and just cosplays being a sahm

IKR anon hit the nail on the head. i also really respect her drive and it's one of the reasons why she's on top, but why deny it? like if all she wants is a husband and suburbia then why release like 10 variants and continually chase the charts and everything i just don't get it. do any of us actually believe the things she says in that song. also the line "they want those three dogs that they call their kids" kinda irks me like girl you have 3 cats, is it any different lol
