An Honest Year – Moments Record Label: Self-Released Release Date: September 1, 2013 Reviewed by: Sean George

Philadelphia-based An Honest Year released their Moments EP on September 1st of last year. The seven-song effort was self-released and is available both online and on iTunes.

The album opens with “Liar and a Thief”, a song about someone not being sure about their situation with another person, because a girl can’t make up her mind about who she wants to be with.

Track 4 is called “Don’t Leave Me”, and the band released an official lyric video for it on September 2nd – a day after the EP dropped. It’s garnered 50,000+ views since its upload, and it’s definitely one of their better songs. Lead singer Matthew McKay sings, “Cause you’ll never understand what you do to me / Just one touch, feel your heart beating next to me. / Cause I’ve been waiting for so long just to see you leave./ So, don’t leave me.” It’s a slow song about having a fight, and not wanting it to lead to the end of a relationship.
