Let’s talk about something I deal with on the daily, that has been the “demon on my shoulder” my whole life: Food Addiction. ————————————— I can’t tell you what triggered it, when it first started, or why I still struggle. I CAN tell you that my addiction to food has been around for as long as I can remember. I remember being a child and sneaking foods when no one was looking. I would hide food in my room and eat in shame. I would spend all day thinking about food, eat even when I wasn’t hungry, and eat past the point of full until it hurt… then I’d eat some more- all while in an almost “blackout” trance. —————————————— My food addiction was a big part of why I ended up at 330lbs at the age of 20. Even as an adult, I would hide and eat food in shame. So, when I finally made the decision to actively fight against my addiction and get Weight Loss Surgery to help save my life, I thought the addiction would go away. But it didn’t. ————————————— People probably look at me and think I’ve won against my demons. They see me go to the gym 5-6 days a week, they see me eating small portions of healthy foods, they see me as victorious. But what they don’t know is I still struggle every single day. Even after WLS, losing 150lbs, having skin removal, and all of this hard work- I still fight against my own brain. I STILL sneak food at night, give in to my “trigger foods”, and some days I lose control. —————————————– If you’ve never struggled with an eating disorder like food addiction, binge eating, etc. you might not understand the frustration of your mind sabotaging your every effort. But if you DO know- if you are like me- just know that you are NOT alone. Food addiction can make you feel alone and ashamed, but I’m here to say that as long as you’re fighting to be better- even if some days or weeks or MONTHS you just give in- YOU ARE STILL AMAZING AND STRONG. You may not win every battle, but you can win the war, and I will be right at your side to fight along with you if you ever need me. —————————————— Happy #tummylovethursday everyone!
Well 6 years ago I never thought I’d be on the Protect Theon Greyjoy Defence Squad and yet here I am with my sad, wet, trash baby
All you Jonsa-freaks are fucking delusional. Its a crackship. Its not going to happen. Sansa is Jons sister, nothing more. Jonerys is canon. Get over it!
I usually don’t react to asks like this, but this permanent missuse of the term “crack-ship” is really bothering me, so I want to make some things clear concering fandom-shipping-lingo:
The terms “crack-ship” and “non-canon ship” are not and never have been synonymous, nor 100% interchangeable.
A “crack-ship” is something that has absolutely no possibility of ever happening in canon. It’s something crazy, out-of-place or unlikely moving towards impossible. It’s shipping two characters who’ve never interacted in canon and never will, are completely incompatible with each other, or have never showed any sign of any kind of romantic potential. It’s a ship with absolutely zero back-up in the narrative.
A “non-canon ship” on the other hand, simply is something that isn’t canon. That’s literally the only requirement. Fiction thrives on love-triangles, “will they wont they?”, “whom will she/he choose?” or presenting a main-character with a variety of (potential) love interests over the story. Being “non-canon” doesn’t necessary make something “crack”. If you can find some sort of textual evidence for romantic potential, that isn’t a crackship. Even if it isn’t canon.
Here’s a list GoT-crackships:
Davos x Jon (never showed interest in each other, incompatible when it comes to sexual orientation and age. But I’ve read things, anon. I’ve read things I will never forget)Brienne x Sandor (like … to each their own. Why the hell not?)Missandei x Jorah (she has a boyfriend, he’s obsessed with Khaleesi. Never showed any interest. Like … naahhh )Jorah x Sam (Peel of my skin and I’ll love you)Lyanna x Stannis (I read a fun little ficlet about them recently.)Robb x Margarey (Not all “crack-ships” are super duper weird. This is a pretty cute one, that I really like. But never interacted with each other, never will.)Robb x Daenerys (This is what canon-divergence was made for, if you ask me.)Arya x Joffrey (I have actually read fanfiction in which Joffrey wasn’t bat-shit crazy cruel, but only a pretty arrogant, entitled jerk. Arya was the one engaged to him and it was a really interesting read.)Tyrion x Cersei (the internet is a weird, dark place with weird, dark ideas.)
My two personal Jon-crackships:Jon x Tormund (because wouldn’t it be cute ???)Jon x Missandei (because wouldn’t it be amazingly cute ???)
The one I have for Daenerys:Tormund x Daenerys (First: Tormund is so amazing, everyone would be happy to have him. I ship him with everyone. Second: Mother of Dragons x Warrior-women-loving-wildling? Sign me the fuck up.)
And the one I have for Sansa:Sansa x Podrick (he’s such an obvious bottom, sorry not sorry. Love this in fanfiction. It’s adorable.)
Here’s a list of GOT-non-canon-ships, that don’t deserve the title “crack-ship” IMO:
Jon x Daenerys (no anon, they aren’t canon yet. Can you look into the future? Leaks don’t count. Canon counts.)Jon x Sansa (if you don’t believe there’s enough textual evidence to back them, you are the delusional one. You don’t have to ship it, you don’t have to like it, you don’t have to believe it’s going to happen. But acting like other people are delusional for thinking they have serious canon potential simply shows that you feel threatened by them. There, I said it.)Jon x Arya (grrm intended them to end up together. I don’t think it’s very likely to become canon, but it isn’t a crack-ship either. The creator himself entertained the possibility once.)
Sansa x Petyr (No, not even being “problematic” as hell makes a ship “crack”. This will never become canon, but I can accept that people like to take the underlying dynamics and change the narrative in fanon. That’s what fanfiction is for. You can take two characters, eliminate the canon-things you don’t like and add things to make your imagination come to life. This might be a bit on the verge to crack, but they definetly have enough canon-interaction to earn a place in this list.)Sansa x Tyrion (I don’t consider them canon. Probably not going to happen. A little problematic as well, but see the commentary above)Sansa x Sandor (similar to sansa x tyrion in my book. More likley than it, probably, since Sansa acknowledges some sort of romantic feelings as well. Liked the fanon-version - sorry not really in canon - for a long time. Still do.) Sansa x Theon (canon-interaction, I can totally see where people are coming from. Nothing is going to happen with like 99,9999% certainty, but I don’t think the term “crackship” is a 100% fair.)
Jaime x Brienne (do I really have anything to add to this ? It’s an absolute fan-favourite. You don’t have to be a fan, but canon acknowledges this having some kind of potential)Brienne x Tormund (The show is so obviously playing with this => not gonna actually happen - probably, but canon wants us to think about it. So, not really a “crack-ship”.)
Arya x Gendry (has a pretty good chance at being canon ~somehow~, at least on the show. But still isn’t canon yet.)
Bran x Meera (same as Arya x Gendry)
Daenerys x Tyrion (he’s obviously in love with her. Look at all the hearteyes.)Daenerys x Jorah (bookverse a little to creepy for my taste, but as I said: To each their own. not so creepy on the show. Still not a fan. Still not really “crack”)
I could go on, but I really hope you get my point by now. Not everyone will agree with this lists. There will probably be a lot of shippers who themselves say “naah. That’s my crackship”. Fine, you can define your own opinion however you like. But don’t insult other people who think it isn’t.
I don’t really care too much about canon, a lot of my all-time otps and ships never became canon (Zutara, Kakasaku, Narusaku, Ichiruki, …). Never stopped me from shipping them. Of course I want to see my ships become canon, but it isn’t a necessity. I’m rooting for Jonsa to happen as long as it’s possible, because I see a lot of foreshadowing for them in both the books and the show. If I’m wrong? I will be disappointed, but okay. Happened before. I’ve learned to be okay with that.
But what I’m not okay with is being called stupid or delusional for interpreting canon-material differently. For seeing potential that IS THERE. I know what a “crack-ship” is anon, and Jonsa simply isn’t one. Wether they become canon or not.
Saw this on Instagram but couldn’t find it on tumblr. Too funny not to share!
What I learnt after losing 20kg in 3 months
1. It always starts on a high note but the key thing is to keep it going.
You see someone losing a lot of weight and suddenly you are so inspired and pumped to reach your ideal weight, or you realise that you have put on a significant amount of weight and decide to crash diet. It could even be for an upcoming important event. Usually this inspiration will last for a week or two, after which you start to give yourself a little more allowance, this is where most people fall back to where they were. It happened to me countless times.
You have to want it bad enough.
2. You have to be consistent.
Losing weight is hard af, but the important thing is to be consistent. This is what I did:
- take weekly progress photos (whenever I see how my body changes week by week I’m motivated to push on)
- weigh in weekly (I know how easy it is to be obsessed with the scale)
- follow inspiring people (this helps you more than you think)
- whenever I feel lazy to work out, which happens almost every single day, I tell myself this: ‘if you get out there and do what you have to for 30mins, you are one step closer to your goal. If not, the time will pass anyway even if you’re scrolling through Facebook.’
3. Workout
I started with swimming because it was the easiest. You don’t sweat as much, it’s easy on your knees, and it burns a shit load of calories.
After some time, I switched over from swimming to cycling HIIT on my stationary bike. After which I started doing blogilates’s PIIT28, and started hitting the gym after that.
What I’m trying to say is, change up your activities once in a while! Add some variation to your workout by keeping things interesting and you will look forward to it.
My best friend got me out of my comfort zone. I have been so unfit all my life that I wasn’t able to complete even a 2.4km jog. She dragged me along for a run and I fell in love with jogging. To be fair it happened about 6 weeks after I started working out.
It doesn’t get easier, you just get better!
You only need 30mins a day to complete your daily workout. Choose one workout, be it jogging or HIIT, and just do it!
No matter how tired I am, I make sure to get my 30mins in. Sometimes I impress myself with my determination.
4. Moral support
You’re committed to your goals and are working hard towards it. We all know it gets lonely sometimes. Motivate a friend to do the same! Motivate each other when things get tough or the scale is not budging. I’m lucky to have my BFF on this journey together with me.
Even for those who discourage you or those who once called you fat, you got to have the fire in you to make a change and prove them wrong!
Do it for yourself, your love ones. I know you can. I have fallen off the wagon many times too. But the lower you fall, the higher you will fly. Believe in yourself. I promise you, once you start believing, everything will fall in place. There will not be success without failure. You will get there sunshine. One day you will shine. You just got to start believing in yourself and start working damn hard towards your goal.
Old saying but pushes me a lot: it’s never going to be easy but it’s going to be SO worth it.
5. You didn’t gain it overnight, don’t expect to lose it in a month.
Don’t be demoralised just because people ain’t noticing the changes. Don’t beat yourself up.
I gave myself 6 months to reach my goal weight. 7kg more to go! Yay!
6: Your boobs/butt will shrink, there might be loose skins/ stretchmarks if you lose weight too fast.
What I did for boobs and butt:
Do planks and squats every day. Yes every day. It helps firms your boobs and squats give your flat booty a lift.
I learnt this the hard way. Losing 50kg in a year 2 years ago definitely tested my skin’s elasticity. I researched ways to reduce the appearance of stretch marks since the only way you eliminate them is through a laser surgery.
Loose skins and stretchmarks are tricky. I tried everything so I can’t pinpoint what worked and what didn’t. But it reduced the appearance of stretchmarks and my skin doesn’t look too loose either.
What I did:
- Drink lots of water (it really works!)
- Dry brushing
- Body scrubs (if you ask me I would say coffee scrub, I didn’t start selling it for no reason)
- Bio oil
- Clarins body tonic oil
- Weight training/resistance training
7. Relationship with food
Many asked me what meal plans do I follow or do I have certain calorie restrictions.
I have to clarify that I’m not going for a hot lean body hence this method might not work for you if you are going for that.
I do not follow any specific meal plans. I did many times in the past and tried countless meal plans including Herbal life, natroslim or even master cleanse diet. I’m not saying that all these doesn’t work, they do. You will see yourself losing weight, but it isn’t sustainable.
I eat whatever I want now but I control the portions strictly. I cut out sugar drinks too. Don’t underestimate the calories you are taking in as well, it could be the reason why you are not seeing results.
Learn to say no when being offered food (who does that?!). It’s not easy to say no to the piece of chocolate your best friend got for you, but it’s even harder burning it off later during your workout. If you didn’t plan to eat it, don’t. Save it for another day.
There are days when I have peanut butter toast in the morning, fish soup for lunch and economic rice without any rice (just the meat and vege side dishes) for dinner.
But there will also be days where I crave fried chicken. I order them without sides and go without sugar drinks.
Sometimes I live on ban mian (Singapore-style noodles with mince pork soup) without finishing the noodles. Or some days I have fruits before going to bed.
I try to keep my calorie intake within 1500. I don’t feel starved at all and I eat whatever I want in moderation. It keeps me content to keep going.
You are what you eat. If you know the food you are craving for is unhealthy, have it in small amounts. We all know what happens when we over indulge. A healthy journey consists of 80% diet and 20% exercise.
Food that will help you in your journey:
- Water, just drink enough water.
- Unsweetened green tea, yes you’ve heard this 2 million times. But it works.
- Fruits: Papayas, Watermelons, Apples, Bananas, Lemons and Kiwis.
- Needless to say lots of vegetables
Try new recipes like cauliflower rice. Or replace potato chips with kale chips.
There won’t be any food to avoid in my list because I genuinely believe in moderation.
8. Curbing cravings
You just had dinner but you are craving for dessert. We all know it’s not acceptable to do it every day.
I’d go for a jog if I were you. The cravings for unhealthy food usually subside after a run. You’ll burn 150 calories with 30 minutes of jogging, but it takes 1 serving of potato chips to gain it back. Is it worth it? You be the judge.
If not I’ll find an alternative like yogurt or fruits to curb the cravings.
The last method is to take off your clothes in front of the mirror and stare at your body. Tell me if you still want that tiramisu after that.
Many times we eat not because we need it but because we want it. A treat is only a treat if you have it once in a while.
9. Shitty days
Just recently I broke down and cried just because I felt fat. I felt like the ugliest/biggest girl in the world and I just wanted to hide away from the world. There will be days where you feel like shit and nothing you do makes sense to you.
I allowed myself to cry and tell myself that I’m not good enough.
Sometimes we have to embrace our emotions instead of hiding them. Only when we acknowledge what we are feeling, will we be able to fix what’s really broken inside.
After my emotional battle, I pick myself up and continue whatever I was doing. I fixed what was going on inside and stayed focused. People around me saw results. I saw my results. I deserved every single bit of it because I worked hard for it.
Happiness is a choice. You are how you feel about yourself.
Don’t give up on something just because of the time or the difficulty to achieve it. The time will pass anyway. If you don’t work on yourself, who’s going to do it.
I learnt to love myself for every stretchmark, cellulite and scar that’s on me. At the same time, I do my best to be a better version of myself.
10. Take a break If you are tired, not quit.
Lastly, regardless how many times you fail, as long as you get up and try again, you will succeed in the end.
Getting healthy is not a quick fix, it’s a lifestyle. There will be days you feel like eating fast food and not working out. But as long as you get back on your feet the next day, I promise that everything will work out.
Never ever give up on yourself and your body, because you are the only one living in it.
Hope this helps!! Happy 2017! Keep on rocking! :) Let’s embrace 2017 together and achieve whatever you need to acheive!

Adam: It goes both ways.
Shoshanna: No, okay I'm serious, think about it. Like, what would she have done in this period of mental unrest if her boyfriend would have been like an actual human being like existing in society. Like what if you had like a job, or responsibilities, or like places to be during the day or like a best friend?
Adam: Well she is my best friend.

Todays Inspiration: I am 1 lb away from my first goal. If I can get to 185 lbs, that’s my first goal post. I am super excited. I am taking it slow this time. It is so odd not to be doing a juice fast or ultimate go-get-em tiger sort of diet. I am now…

Day 8 Pescatarian
Today went very well as usual. Well not so usual for me, though now that it is day 8 it is starting to feel like I have a hold of this diet, instead of the other way around. Everything today was delicious and I enjoyed it. It didn’t feel like I was on a diet.…

January Project - Vegetarian, Vegan, Raw or Pescatarian
Todays Inspiration: Louise Hay and my Mom.

Todays Inspiration: Louise Hay and my Mom.
I would love to be a raw vegan. Grain free, salt free, sugar free, nut free and dairy free. However my body wants something else. I am anemic. I have hyperthyroidism. I have a vitamin D deficiency and I am highly stressed out.
So I am just going to make small changes until I get there. For the next 30 days I am going to be a vegetarian/pescatarian. I am eating fish a few times a week so that I can get iodine into my body without salt. I am going to see how my body feels. I will be doing raw food on the weekends and having exactly 1 cheat meal on Sunday. Will I stick to it? I did for this past week. In fact I didn’t even cheat tonight. That was strange. Perhaps it is knowing that on Sunday I am going to go Tim Ferris all out on my cheat meal.
This month I am also going to be waking up early.
