Uhh ok so yay scarian independent journalist Grian×vex mayor Scar sort of cannibal au
It's inspired by someone else's comic and I really forgot who made it and I don't remember the name or anything that has to do with this and Idk how much stuff I made up, how much of that I dreamed about and how much is not mine so... if anyone recognises smth, please let me know 💔💔 I want to give credits i don't want to steal anyone's idea
It's supposed to be Grian journalist au, where he, as an independent journalist, searches Internet for niche and creepy rumours or smth and then goes and exposes it. His fairly recent find leads him to a city called Scarland, that is real famous for its attraction park and zoo that the mayor himself planned and also named a lot of stuff there after himself. The mayor -Scar- is a man that's a bit full of himself, but he's actually got lots of charms and good looks so the citizens of the Scarland love him.
Grian already was hoping to expose smth about this mayor ( money is his main motivation, but he's also a nosy person, so when he sees someone like Scar that is just too much of a goody two shoes to be true he HAS to find out what the person is really like) and moves to the city with a plan in his mind - to make himself be seen as a bit of non-caring, oblivious and clumsy journalist that tries to overthrow government or smth, which meant that he's not after any personal information, only stuff that has to do with justice. Based on the plan it takes at least a month for him to establish this image.
Scar is vex (hybrid) that needs human flesh to exist! Mb just for funsies dunno. And mb he uses cane bc he's restraining himself from eating as much human meat as he needs to so his body is constantly exausted.
Scar sees through Grians' act, but he does sees him as a man with little skills. He finds Grians posts online ( the cover-up account), so he didn't think that he's got the actual skills nor guts for seriously breaking in or smth illegal like that ( Grian also failed , intentionally and accidentally, to "break" into the city hall for about 4 times, which he's done in broad day light). But he still thinks there's more to Grian, so he gets real intrigued by the man.
So, on one very quiet night, Grian decides he's got the golden chance at smuggling some interesting stuff in Scars' office. After breaking in through the window it just seemed awfully quiet ( no guards ), but than, as he walks up to Scars lounge or like waiting room or the office i dunno, he sees a very peculiar scene, that he doesn't belive when he sees it at first - Scar eats a human! On the floor! Oh wow
Grian freezes at first and goes completely blank, but then his brain system kicks on again. He takes his camera out ( journalist instincts. He'd already encountered violence and took pictures of it and managed to expose this on his real account, name is "Watcher" btw, but well, not something as extreme as cannibalism ) and takes a picture with the flashlight on (stupid ass ). He panics super hard and completely forgets about his escape route ( the window), and so he tries to leave as fast as possible and throws off a vase.. oops. He then runs for the door.
Scar was just enjoying one of his very fortunate dinners. He lets all of the guards and any workers off on Sundays as an act of a "softheartedness of a mayor that wants all of his employees to have their time with their friend and families", so he's the only alive person in the building. Truly the most perfect time for a meal. Then suddenly he gets flashed. After just a second of being disoriented, he stands up and dashes (with his newfound energy from eating) to the corridor where he heard smth breaking. He hears and sees someone trying to escape through the main entrance.
As the running person approaches the door, he grabs them and wowie! It's his little stalker journalist.. Real unfortunate bc teasing and learning about him was real fun and Grian wasn't a terrible person, but he can't let him go after his little discovery.
Well as he's about to kill Grian the man reacts fairly quickly and asks for a deal (midnight strangers reference everyone) in which he's gonna delete all the futage and he'll never speak about it till the day he dies. Scar says he'll only agree if both the camera and Grians' phone will be destroyed ( great, another financial inconvenience) and one more condition he'll tell him about eventually. Grian doesn't have much of a choice and agrees to all of this. So Scar does leave Grian be.. as an employee at the city hall! Permit office! Yayy
From now on Grians tries to break out from Scars' grasp & expose him & become rich and famous with all the report and especially recovery money that he gets from it, while also absolutely hating his job and trying to get away from intimidating boss Cub with all the slacking he does and ignoring all the honey coating he gets from Scar. ( he does needs thr jon tho cuz he hasn't uploaded anything for month and doing odd jobs didn't quite cut it. And Scar does pay his employees fairly)
I'll consider doing more for this au later, but rn I'll just put it out there and try to find whoever made the comic i was insipired by (if I didn't dream about it)
Also I don't have like my own artstyle ( mr obvious here), and I just like try to put a face together, and then I draw something else, and it looks completely different, and idk what to do about it.
