Chapter 7: That Time I Accidentally Ate a Devil Fruit and Was Promised to a Warlord of the Sea
Word Count: 2.4k
You had no idea how much time had passed, but you had managed to stop crying a while ago. At some point you had put on Law's shirt over your own and that worked wonders. However, you still felt super hot and dazed. You stayed curled up under the counter in case you felt the urge to bite anyone else. You heard a soft knock at the door before Chopper entered.
"Hey, y/n. I brought something to help." Chopper said as he approached you. You looked up to see that he had a needle in hand. "Caesar finally woke up and he happened to have some your injections on hand. He was on his way to give you one when we stormed his lab."
Your eyes lit up.
Sweet relief!
You quickly get out from under the counter and expose your neck. Chopper gently inserts the needle and administers the medication. The sensation is a little uncomfortable, but you were used to it at this point. Within seconds, you start feeling normal again. You let out a sigh of relief as a wave of exhaustion washed over you.
Chopper gently wiped Law's blood off of your face and hands. The blood had started to dry on your skin. You didn't want to wipe the blood off on the nice clothes you had borrowed from Nami and Robin. Wiping it off on Law's shirt sounded like a good way to piss him off further. Once you were cleaned up, Chopper handed you a lollipop. "I didn't know what flavor you'd like, so I picked cotton candy since it's my favorite. This'll give you just the boost you need."
He was such a sweet, little reindeer. You gladly put the lollipop in your mouth and the cotton candy flavor spread across your tongue. You noticed Chopper also had a lollipop for himself. It was so cute you almost forgot why you gave you one in the first place. He made his way to the door and motioned for you to follow him. As you got up, you remembered you still had Law's shirt on. You carefully took it off and folded it. You hadn't known Sanji very long, but you were pretty confident he'd try to kill Law if he saw you wearing it. Now that you thought about it, you were pretty sure Law would be irritated if he saw you wearing his shirt, regardless of Sanji. You had no idea how you were going to face him. How do you even begin to apologize for that?
Law must hate me…
Chopper grabbed your hand, pulling you from your sour thoughts. "Don't worry. We're gonna figure this out together."
You stepped out onto the main deck to find that everyone was scattered around while waiting for you. Your eyes quickly landed on Law. He was sitting with his sword propped on his shoulder. He had also managed to replace his shirt. It was navy blue with long sleeves. The collar was covered in matching feathers and his jolly roger was in yellow on the front. He didn't dare to look at you. You couldn't read the expression on his face, but you assumed he was still pissed.
"Shurorororo! Well if it isn't the naughty, little Omega? Got carried away, did we?" Caesar was staring you down from his spot in the grass. He was snuggly tied up and still donning his sea prism stone handcuffs. Chopper led you over to Brook so you could both take a seat.
"You know I wouldn't mind you taking a bite of my flesh. That is, if I had any! Yohohohoho!" Brook joked. Normally, you would've found that pretty funny, but you were still pretty embarrassed. No one else was laughing either.
"Now that we're all here, tell us what you know about this disease." Law directed at Caesar.
"Well, first of all it's not a disease." Caesar replied.
What?!
"I just lied to get you to come to the lab peacefully, shurororo." You shouldn't be surprised considering everything else he lied about, but it still hurt.
"What IS wrong with me then?" You blurted.
"Silly girl. Are you really that dumb? Your symptoms started after eating a weird fruit you found. You have Devil Fruit powers. Don't believe me? Try touching some sea prism stone." Caesar's tone was extremely condescending as he held out his cuffs for you to touch. It made perfect sense, but you didn't want to believe you had eaten a Devil Fruit. It has to be something lame if all it did was make you feel like shit. You got up and approached Caesar. The second your fingers brushed against the cuffs, all of your energy drained from you. You immediately fell to your knees due to the crippling fatigue.
"Shurorororororo! Feels terrible, doesn't it?" Caesar gloated.
"I see now. This has to do with SMILE." Law stated
"SMILE? What's SMILE?" asked Usopp.
"SMILE is a type of man-made Zoan type Devil Fruits." Law replied.
"THEY CAN MAKE THOSE?!" Usopp screamed.
"Caesar is the only one who can make them. Capturing him and destroying S.A.D. was just phase one of the plan." Law continued.
"What plan?" Zoro interjected.
"Ooooo, yes! Tell them about the plan, Traffy!" Luffy beamed.
Law then detailed every aspect of their alliance, the connection Doflamingo has with Kaido, and the plan to take them both down. Looking across the crew, there was a mix of reactions as Law spoke. Kin'emon, Momonosuke, Nami, Chopper, and Usopp were shaking in their boots. Momonosuke was so freightened that he turned into his little dragon form. Franky, Zoro, and Luffy were getting fired up. Everyone else remained fairly neutral.
"So Caesar kept y/n in attempt to duplicate her Devil Fruit as a SMILE fruit. But how did she not know she's a Devil Fruit user if she's a Zoan type?" Brook asked.
"Because she's not a Zoan type." Answered Robin.
"Exactly. So Caesar, tell us what Devil Fruit she has." Law requested.
"Shurorororo. Her fruit is the Omega-Omega Fruit." Caesar said.
Omega-Omega? The hell's an Omega?
Caesar continued, "The fruit gives the user the ability to grant immense power to others. In return, the user and those affected by the fruit's power are intimately bonded. These bonds can be weaker or stronger, but it's unknown what causes the difference. Before bringing you to the lab, not much else was known about the fruit, however I uncovered a lot through observation. For example, that unbearable sensation you go through whenever you don't get your injection is extremely similar to the heat experienced by female mammals. I've since referred to it as a 'heat'. From that, I deduced that those affected by the fruit have the ability to provide relief. This led me to calling the user 'Omega', and those affected by the fruit 'Alpha'."
"Alpha? That sounds pretty badass." Franky remarked.
You could practically see the twinkle in Chopper's eyes as he shot up. "Does being an Alpha make you like a superhero?"
"OOO! I want superhero powers!" Luffy chimed in. His expression was the exact same as Chopper's.
"Shurorororo. No, it's nothing so childish."
Chopper and Luffy both deflated with a sigh.
"Then what kind of power do Alphas have?" Zoro asked.
"It's said that Alphas gain increased stamina, strength, agility, and Haki. I needed to find out exactly what determines the strength of an Alpha. However, I couldn't force y/n to create an Alpha so I had to first find someone that she would want to bond with. The pheromones she produced led me to believe that scent might play a role, but I never found a good match. Though, I did discover that Omega pheromones can manipulate others' emotions."
Everything was starting to make sense. You locked eyes with Law and could see that he had just come to the same conclusion: he was a match.
"Shurororororo! I saved the best detail for last. The process of creating an Alpha and bonding with them requires that the Omega bites the soon-to-be Alpha somewhere around their collarbone during an intimate moment. You just couldn't keep your legs closed cou—AUGH!"
Sanji had kicked Caesar directly in the throat. Everyone could feel the hatred that oozed off of Sanji. Chopper rushed over to make sure that the injury wasn't life threatening.
"Don't you EVER speak so rudely of my princess!" Sanji bellowed. "Any man would be so lucky to have her even look at them!" He took a deep breath and began to turn to check on you. "Besides, my princess would never be interested in someone like Law, right?"
You uncomfortably shifted your eyes away from Sanji down to the grass. The heat that flushed your face told you that you were beet red. You had no idea how to answer him, but the silence was all the answer he needed.
"Oh, I see…" Sanji slowly turned to face Law. "So, you dare to seduce and defile my princess?"
Law brushed him off, "Shut it, Black Leg. I did no such thing."
"And you wanna lie about it. Sounds like you need to be taught some manners." Sanji was absolutely seething. You grabbed Sanji's arm as he took a step towards Law.
"He's not lying." Your statement made Sanji stop to look at you. Your eyes were still fixed on the grass. Anxiety gnawed at your insides. "I'm the one who started it… But it's not what you think! We didn't…"
But I wanted to…
You were too embarrassed to say anything else. The entire crew didn't need to hear about what you and Law did or didn't do. You finally looked up to meet Sanji's gaze. His expression was unreadable. Before you could say anything, he gently removed your hand.
"I need to prepare dinner." His voice was soft as he walked into the kitchen. You wanted nothing more than to chase after him, but what would be the point? You had nothing else to say right now. He didn't seem mad, but you still couldn't quite tell how he felt. You weren't even sure if he knew how he felt. Hopefully, some time to himself with his cooking would help.
"Shurorororo." Caesar was now upright again. Chopper had just finished tending to him. "As I was going to say before being attacked, Joker is not going to like that you have an Alpha, especially since it's Law."
"What does he care if I have an Alpha? I don't see how that affects SMILEs." You crossed your arms.
"Wow, you really are dumb, shurororo. Who wouldn't want that kind of power for themselves? And now you've turned around and given it to a traitor. You were supposed to belong to Joker."
You had never even met this man, yet he already claimed you as his? The air began to reek of burnt gingersnaps as your blood began to boil. You could see when your pheromones reached each person around you. One by one they were visibly more upset than they were before. Your eyes stung as tears threatened to fall down your cheeks. Luffy stood up and approached you. Once he was in front of you, he stared directly into your eyes. He had a serious look on his face, but there was still a softness to it.
"Y/n." He paused. The smell of roasted pork grew to match the intensity in his eyes. "I'll make sure no one ever owns you. Not Mingo or anyone else. I promise."
"Luffy…" Nothing could stop the tears from falling. Somehow you knew that he would protect you with his life if it came to it. You longed to fall into his arms. It became clear to you that he was also a scent match.
"Bite me." Luffy reached up to pull his shirt back from his shoulder.
"What?" You blinked away your tears.
"If Traffy's your Alpha then I should be too. You're my friend too."
"You idiot! That's not how the fruit works!" Caesar shouted.
Luffy's eyes were firmly planted on yours. He paid no mind to Caesar.
Alpha…
You stepped towards Luffy and dug your teeth into his neck. He didn't even so much as flinch at the sensation. The taste of succulent pork flooded your mouth as you braced yourself against his chest. You gently pulled your head back releasing Luffy's neck. Before you could look up at him, he removed his hat and placed it on your head with a gentle pat. Without another word, he walked away and stepped inside the kitchen.
Sanji's POV
Jealous was an understatement. You had been overlooked by women before, but this was somehow different. Something about her made you want to forget every other woman entirely. It was unlike you. In an attempt to distract yourself, you had begun to prepare dinner. Thankfully, you had placed some pork shoulder in the meat smoker earlier this morning. Checking the internal temperature, it should be ready in about one to two more hours. Grabbing a large bowl of rice, you stepped over to the sink and began to wash it.
You had just finished putting the rice on the stove to cook when Luffy walked in. "Sanjiiiii."
He's probably wondering when the food'll be ready.
You turned to look at him and give him a response but stopped as soon as you saw the blood. He had a fresh bite mark on the base of his neck just like Law. His hat was also missing.
What the hell happened?! I've never seen Luffy show an ounce of interest in a woman before!
All sorts of lewd thoughts of Luffy having his way with y/n went through your head. Before you knew it, you had a nose bleed. Your imagination had run completely off the rails.
"Luffy, you didn't. Please tell me you didn't." You were practically sobbing.
"Didn't what? Oh, this bite! Y/n gave it to me so I could be her Alpha just like Traffy." Luffy smiled.
"Is that all?"
"Uh yeah. If she's Traffy's friend then she's my friend too. It's cool that her Devil Fruit can make her friends stronger." He was absolutely oblivious. "C'mon, Sanji! When's dinner? It's kinda hot in here and I'm starving."
The jealousy in you finally started to settle down. Luffy's ignorance of anything sexual had put you at ease. He seemed genuinely excited that he had made a new friend. It reminded you of why you had joined his crew in the first place. "It'll still be a while before it's ready. Go clean up that wound so you don't get blood all over my kitchen."
"Fine" Luffy said as he walked into the infirmary.

Chapter 6: Just One Bite
Word Count: 2.4k
You looked up into Law's eyes. His cheeks were lightly dusted pink. You took another deep breath through your nose to find that he was right. You could smell an intense mixture of ginger, cinnamon, and clove entangled with warm sugar. It had become as strong as the peppermint. Your breathing became heavier as you struggled to focus.
The room you were in looked like a fancy bar. A giant fish tank wrapped around the room in a half circle. You could tell the tank was full of various fish, but you couldn't tell what kind in your current state. Around the entire front of the tank was a long stretch of booth seating. The room would've felt very relaxing under normal circumstances. Law approached the booth and sat you down. Still standing, Law looked down at you and said "Well? You got an explanation?"
"No..." You replied. "I've never done this before yesterday."
He let out a sigh and sat next to you. Head in hand he replied, "Alright, I believe you. I talked to the Straw Hats' doctor about your condition. I think this might be related. Do you mind telling me how you feel right now?"
You tried to collect your thoughts but you were still having a hard time focusing. "I can barely focus. The smell of gingersnaps and peppermint are overwhelming." You respond.
"How does your body feel? Does it hurt anywhere?" Law followed up.
"No, it doesn't hurt. I just feel dizzy and warm."
"Hmmm." Law paused and thought for a moment. He then straightened up to get a better look at you. You could practically see the gears turning in his head as he analyzed you.
"I'm gonna check your vitals. Let's start with your heart rate." He reached out his index and middle fingers and placed them on the side of your neck with light pressure. As he did, a wave of pleasure washed over you. You couldn't stop a soft moan from escaping your mouth. He snatched his hand back and just stared at you. His face turned a deep shade of red. You might as well have grown a second head. That would've been less embarrassing at least.
"Sorry! I don't know what came over me..." You said.
He quickly shook off his shocked expression. "It's alright. I'll just check using your wrist." He said as he held out his hand. You placed your wrist in his open palm. He then placed the same two fingers on your wrist and closed his eyes as he began to concentrate on your pulse.
Why did I do that?
You watched him as you thought about what just happened. His face was still a little red, but it didn't look like it was affecting his concentration. The longer you watched, the more you thought about how handsome he was. The thought was all-consuming. You slowly began to lean in to get a closer look. Beauty like his was meant to be appreciated. You wanted nothing more than to reach out and touch him. With each second that passed the urge grew and grew.
"Your heart rate is elevated. We..." Law trailed off as he opened his eyes, realizing just how close you were. He was completely frozen in place. You moved even closer as you took in the beauty of his golden eyes. They were intensely focused on you. It looked like he was still attempting to analyze you. You then glanced down at his lips. They were slightly parted. His breathing was very controlled. You wondered if he would taste like peppermint. Unable to control your curiosity, you closed the gap between you and softly pressed your lips to his. His lips were dry, but softer than you'd expected.
The warmth in your abdomen began to spread and with it your need grew. You leaned into him and began to deepen the kiss. He followed your lead kissing you back, but his hands stayed frozen at his sides. A faint taste of peppermint painted your lips with each movement of his lips. You could feel your heart begin to heavily pound in your chest. You had never experienced anything like this before. As you melted into the kiss, you knew you still needed more.
You climbed into his lap to straddle him as your tongue hungrily begged for entrance into his mouth. He hesitantly let you in and the full taste of peppermint danced around your tongues. You reached up and tossed his hat onto the booth. You then eagerly ran your fingers through his hair. It was just long enough that you could grip it without majorly tangling it. He finally moved his hands to slowly run his fingers down your back. The sensation sent tingles down your spine. When he reached your lower back, he stopped for a moment.
You pulled away from the kiss to look at him. You were both breathing heavily. Neither of you spoke as you searched each other's eyes. His eyes were full of lust, but there also seemed to be a hint of confusion in them. Before you could spare another thought, a spike of heat ripped through your body.
Need more.
You don't know how you know; you just do. You frantically grasped at Law's shirt and pulled it over his head, revealing his chest. His arms and chest were covered in tattoos. You knew he had some tattoos, but not this many. They were all some variation of hearts or his jolly roger. You couldn't stop yourself from tracing your finger down his chest tattoo as you admired it. A slight smirk grew on his face as all traces of uncertainty disappeared from his eyes. He aggressively reached both hands around to cup your ass, pulling you closer.
You gasped at the sudden movement and placed your hands on his chest to catch yourself. The sensation had briefly satiated the uncomfortable feeling of the heat. You began to grind into his lap as you chased more relief. With each move, you could feel the bulge in his pants growing. You threw your head back as you were trying to hold in another moan. An unfamiliar wetness had begun pooling between your thighs. When you looked back down, his eyes were completely fixed on you and full of hunger.
Mate...
You grasped his hair in your hand to pull his head to the side, exposing his neck. You dive in, licking and sucking. Light moans escape Law's mouth as you devour his neck. His hands roughly squeeze your ass while he helps guide your grinding. Every single movement makes your whole body feel like it's on fire. Before you know it, you're sinking your teeth into the base of his neck. He lets out a cry that's mixed with pain and pleasure. Peppermint fills your mouth and you can't get enough.
Law forcefully grabs both your shoulders and pushes you away from his neck. Still in his lap, he holds you an arm's length away. His is face riddled with shock and irritation. "What the fuck?!"
You switch your gaze to his neck where you had just been kissing him. You had bitten him hard enough to break his skin. A few drops of blood trailed down onto his chest. You reached your hand up to your lips. They felt warm and wet. When you pulled your hand away, blood was trailing down your fingers. The realization of what you'd just done slammed down on you.
"I..." You were at a loss for words as you stared at the blood on your hand. Law firmly moved you off his lap and back onto the booth. You stared at him as he silently put his hat back on and made his way to the door. You were still too shocked at your behavior to stop him. Right before he opened the door, you managed to force out, "I'm sorry!"
Hand on the door knob, he briefly paused, but he didn't look back at you. Then he opened the door and left. You continued to stare at the door for several seconds. As the shock wore off, you pulled your knees to your chest. You had no idea why you bit him. It had felt right, but that didn't give you the right to just bite him without asking. Tears pricked at your eyes.
What is wrong with me...
The heat slowly returned and burned at your insides. You were really missing your pillow fort now. You were exhausted and just wanted some relief. It's too bad you hadn't thought about making sure you had some of those injections before you left. Peeling yourself off of the booth, you moved towards the counter. Before you sat, you noticed that Law had left his shirt behind. You quickly grabbed it and then curled up under the counter. The shirt had the lingering aroma of peppermint. It wasn't much, but it did take a little bit of edge off the heat. You held it close as you silently began to cry.
Law's POV
You swiftly walked across the main deck. Your neck was a little sore, but you needed to make sure the bleeding had stopped. She had completely caught you off guard when she bit you. It had actually felt extremely pleasurable, but the fact that she did it without asking pissed you off.
The audacity...
The whole interaction made your head spin. The more you thought about it, the more confused you felt. You had no intention of getting involved with anyone, especially not someone who was supposed to be a patient. Her scent had just been so tantalizing... The meer thought of it was enough it make you sweat.
Black Leg suddenly appeared in front of you, "Answer me, dammit! How is she doing? AND WHERE IS YOUR SHIRT?!" You hadn't realized that he and the other Straw Hats on deck had been talking to you.
"She bit me," you replied. "It would be best if no one goes in there until after we can interrogate Caesar about her condition."
You could tell by the look on his face that Black Leg didn't like your answer. Before he could protest, you shoved past him into the kitchen and said "I need to tend my wound." You could hear him shouting on the other side of the door as you trudged through the kitchen into the infirmary. Inside, the raccoon was tending to an unconscious Caesar.
"Oh hi, Traffy! What brings you he--WHY ARE YOU BLEEDING?!" he shouted as he noticed your wound.
"Y/n bit me." You stated flatly. "As soon as Caesar wakes up, we need to interrogate him about her."
You grabbed a clean cloth and began to clean up your blood. It looked like the bleeding had stopped. To be sure, you decided to press the cloth into the bite. As soon as you applied pressure, you were hit with a wave of dizziness. You staggered a bit as you pulled the cloth away. Chopper immediately rushed over with a chair "Let me look."
You sat and tried to focus on your breathing as he looked at the bite. After a few breaths you began to notice a very faint cooling sensation in your airway.
It couldn't be...
You picked the cloth back up and sniffed the blood on it.
Peppermint?!
You had truly thought y/n was imagining it earlier, but now you could definitely smell it too.
"Traffy, you're burning up. I'm gonna go get you some water." Chopper said as he rushed out into the kitchen. Now that you thought about it, it was pretty hot in here. You hadn't noticed it over the way your neck ached. The soreness had spread over almost your entire collarbone. Chopper rushed back in and handed you a glass of water. As you took a sip, you noticed that more of your body began to ache: your wrists, your inner thighs, your crotch...
"Room!" You shout as you extend out your hand. The familiar blue aura surrounds you creating your operating room.
"Traffy, what's going on?!" Chopper shouts at you.
"I'm about to find out." You reply. "Scan."
With your x-ray ability active, you first look at your wrists. You're able to see some sort of mass has grown right under the skin of both wrists. Looking at your thighs you could see similar masses. You could only assume they were growing where your neck hurt as well since you can't see that area. Your gaze finally moved over to your crotch.
WHAT THE HELL?!
Your dick had grown. Your completely flaccid penis was now at least a whole inch larger, if not more. The strange masses were odd but this was downright mind-boggling. No disease or condition you've ever studied had symptoms like this. You then noticed that the tissue around the base of your dick appeared to be slightly different from the rest of the tissue.
Is this permanent? Wait… How big will it be once it's…
"Traffy, say something! You look like you've seen a ghost." Chopper said. You had completely forgotten Chopper was in the room with you. As much as you trusted the fellow doctor, you were not about to bring attention to your genitals. At least not right now. You refocused your attention on the masses growing under your skin.
"There's some strange growths. Where are your scalpels?" You asked. Chopper reached into one of the cabinets and pulled out a case stocked with sterile surgical tools. He hands you a scalpel with a trusting look. Scalpel in hand, you begin an incision on your wrist. With your devil fruit powers, you have the mass out of your wrist and on a tray in mere seconds. You and Chopper both carefully examine the mass. It doesn't look like anything you've ever seen before but it reeked of peppermint.
"Any thoughts?" You asked.
"Well, if I didn't know better, I'd say it was a scent gland. Many animals have them but I've never known a human to have any. And it also doesn't smell like it's producing any pheromones." Chopper replied.
You considered Chopper's assessment. Your gut told you he was right despite the lack of evidence to support it.
"Shurororo! Joker's not going to like this development."
You looked over to see the horned man sitting upright in his bed. Caesar Clown was finally awake.

Chapter 5: My Cookies Bring All the Pirates to the Deck
Word Count: 1.8k
You woke up feeling like absolute shit. Your head was pounding and the sway of the ship was not helping your nausea. The last thing you remember was drinkging with Zoro. You piece together pretty quickly that you must've passed out from drinking too much. As much as you hoped he had also passed out, you knew that was unlikely. The more you thought about it, the more embarrassed you felt.
Wiping the crust from your eyes, you sit up and take in your surroundings. The room was small but very tidy. Across from your bed was a desk that had a few medical supplies set out on it. The cabinet above the desk contained various tools and bottles that you assumed were medicine. Chopper was seated at the desk reviewing some papers. You couldn't make out what they were from the bed, but it was easy to assume they were related to something medical. You could appreciate someone who took their job seriously.
"Good morning, y/n! Here, take this. It'll help with the hangover." Chopper handed you a glass filled with what looked like strawberry milk. You quickly chugged the whole thing. Thankfully, it didn't really taste like anything. Medicine is almost always so bitter. It would've been hard to swallow with how nauseous you felt. Chopper probably took that into consideration when he made it.
You laid back down and closed your eyes while you waited for the medicine to kick in. Focusing on your breathing was all you could do to keep from puking. Within minutes the pain and nausea started subsiding. You slowly start to get up and that's when you noticed.
Uh, where are my clothes???
You had felt so bad that you hadn't realized you were naked. You looked around the room but didn't see your bodysuit anywhere. Before you could ask, Chopper chimed in. "I had Robin help me undress you. You were starting to develop a fever after we set sail. I told her I'd bring you to the girls' quarters when you woke up so she and Nami could help you get something better suited for this climate. Here."
Chopper handed you a bag that was sitting under the desk and then stepped out of the room so you could have some privacy. As you pulled out the bodysuit, you noticed that it looked like it had been cleaned. There wasn't a spec of the dirt, dust, or snow from Punk Hazard. They didn't need to do that since you weren't going to wear it for very long, but you still appreciated the gesture. You quickly dressed and stepped out of the infirmary to meet Chopper. The medicine he had given you was in full effect now. It was like you never had a drop of alcohol. He had made the perfect hangover cure.
You looked around at this new room to see you were standing in dining area. A counter separated the kitchen from the dining table. It was immaculate for a pirate ship. Given how much effort Sanji put into that stew, you figured he took great care to keep his kitchen clean as well. Chopper flashed you a big smile before heading toward the door across the room. As you followed, you started to get completely lost in thought. You realized that you had completely missed saying goodbye to the children.
I probably won't see them again...
Even though you were sad about it, you knew it was for the best. Nami cared for the kids, but a pirate ship wasn't a great place for them. Not to mention, the Straw Hats would probably get blamed for kidnapping them if they came aboard. You never thought you would trust a Marine, but Tashigi was definitely the exception. The whole time we were feasting, she made sure that all the kids had gotten their fill of stew. They were in good hands.
Before you knew it, you were already at the girls' quarters. Chopper gave a gentle knock before letting you in and then going his separate way. Inside, Robin was sitting and reading on a big, plush couch while Nami was rifling through a very large closet.
"Welcome, y/n!" Robin greeted.
Nami turned around, "Great timing! I was just going through the closet to find clothes I thought would fit you. Luckily, Robin and I have a ton of extra so there's bound to be something that you like. We could just ask Kin'emon to make you something, but I don't trust that perv to put you in something you're comfortable with." She pulled out a huge pile of clothes and placed them on the bed.
"Your current outfit really highlights your curves, but is definitely too hot now that we've left Punk Hazard. I feel like you'd look great in something with a bit more color" she said as she spread out the pile. The options were a little overwhelming. Her and Robin had great taste and a wide variety of styles. As you sifted through the clothes, a cute top caught your eye. The fabric had a luxurious feel and the color went well with your skin tone.
"Ooo, I have just the thing that goes with that! Let me find it." Nami says as she begins digging through the pile. She pulls out cute bottoms and hands them to you. The bottoms perfectly complimented the top you chose. "Perfect! Try it on!"
You slip into the outfit and it fits like glove. The fabric felt just as nice on your body as it did in your hands. Robin hands you a pair of shoes, "Hopefully these are your size. They're not cobblers, but we could see if Usopp or Franky could make modifications if they don't fit."
You took a seat on the couch to put on the shoes. They were a bit snug but not unbearable. You stood up and tried walking around a little. The test steps proved that the shoes were comfortable enough for the time being. You made your way over to the mirror to check out the whole outfit.
Damn, I look good.
"That color really suits you." Nami said while Robin nodded in agreement. "Feel free to borrow whatever else you like. I won't charge you as long you take care of it."
"Thank you! I haven't worn something other than that tight bodysuit in a long time. Feels nice to let my skin breathe a little. "
"Well then let's go out on the deck! I bet the sun will feel amazing." Nami grabbed your hand and pulled you with her out onto the deck. She was absolutely right. The sun kissed your skin with a warmth you haven't felt since you left home. You looked over the railing in front of you to see that the main deck was covered in grass. It's been a long time since you'd seen grass too. You ran down the stairs and flopped to lay on your back. Spreading your fingers between the blades, you could feel how soft and lush the grass was. It was perfect.
"Heeeeeyyyy!" Luffy shouted as he swung down from the mast using his stretched arm. As he landed, an overwhelming aroma of meat flooded your senses. It was like a succulent piece of pork belly was being grilled to perfection. Every year your home island would throw a festival to celebrate their liberation. The stall selling pork belly always had one of the longest lines, but it was worth it. You could practically taste it now. Sanji was a good enough cook that your wondered if he would be able to copy it based off of your description. You sat up expecting to see Luffy stuffing his face with meat like he was last night, but he wasn't.
Maybe he eats enough meat that he just always smells like that.
"N/y, you're finally awake! Traffy and Zoro said something about you having cookies. Where are they?" Luffy asked with a wide smile. He had called you by the wrong name but it was kinda close to your actual name.
Before you could answer, Law came from where he was leaning on the rail on the upper deck and yelled, "I didn't say she had cookies, Straw Hat!" He was about halfway down the stairs when his eyes finally landed on you, stopping him in his tracks. The annoyance on his face melted away into a look of awe.
"But how can she smell like cookies if she doesn't have any?" Luffy asked as he got close and sniffed you.
Nami hit Luffy on the head and yelled, "You can't just sniff people, creep! And her name is y/n!"
"What's with all the yelling?" Zoro asked. He had been sleeping under one of the trees on the main deck. He rubbed his eye as he sat up and surveyed the deck. When his gaze finally reached you, he did a double take. His eye widened as if you had completely taken him by surprise.
The door to the kitchen burst open. "Did I hear that my princess was awake?" Sanji swooned. "Oh y/n! How I longed to see—" Just like the others, he completely froze once he saw you. "You..." He softly finished his sentence.
All three men silently stared at you as if you were a siren who's song was leading them out to sea. It was making you extremely self conscious. Each second that passed felt like an eternity. You took a deep breath to prepare to ask what the problem was, but your thoughts were interrupted; ocean, peppermint, sake. These scents all began to mingle with the smell of the meat. You couldn't describe how you were feeling. It was overwhelming. You tried to take another deep breath to get your bearings, but that just made everything start spinning.
"Can you guys stop staring at her and get her a glass of water or something!" Nami yelled. "She looks like she's gonna pass out!"
At that, they all snapped out of it. "Anything for my princess!" Sanji declared as he dove back into the kitchen.
Law made his way over and kneeled to place his hand on your forehead. "She's warm but it's not a fever." He gently wrapped one arm under your legs and the other around your back. As he stood up, he pulled you in close to his chest. "I'm taking her inside."
You were certain the others were saying something but you couldn't make out what. With your head on Law's chest, you were drowning in peppermint. Everything else became background noise. A warmth began blossoming deep inside you. It was a sensation you had never felt before, but it wasn't unwelcome. The feeling grew with each peppermint-filled breath.
You were so enthralled by the scent that you hadn't even noticed you were inside the ship until Law spoke to you again, "There's that sweet smell again. You'd better give me an explanation this time."

Chapter 4: He Drinks HOW MUCH?!
Word Count: 1.8k
After looking you over and doing some tests, Chopper carefully listened to everything: why you had come to the island, your experience in the lab, and the odd scents that had plagued you today. He was very easy to talk to. It was likely due to him practicing his bedside manner, but his adorableness definitely contributed. Who could feel threatened by a little, talking reindeer in a hat? By the time you were done talking, your drug test results were ready to review.
"Well, as far as I can tell, you look perfectly healthy," said Chopper. He walked over to where he had setup your drug test and began intensely studying the various tubes he had set out. After a few seconds, he stopped and walked back over to you.
"All of your drug tests came back negative. Whatever is causing your symptoms is going to take more investigation."
You let out a sigh. You were really hoping that he'd have some answers.
"Unfortunately, Caesar is still unconscious. Once he wakes up, I'll try to talk to him. If he can tell me about your disease, then I might be able to find a treatment. Based on what you said, it sounds like he was observing you instead of treating you. Since I don't know when he'll wake up, I'm gonna ask Luffy if you can come with us at least until we can get some answers. Is that ok with you?"
"It beats being stuck here or going with the Navy" you replied.
"Awesome! Let's go find Luffy. I bet Sanji's done with the food by now."
You sure hoped so. You haven't had a bite to eat all day and it was really starting to wear on you. You weren't sure how much longer you could go before you started to get grumpy. Thankfully, both of you returned to the bay to find that the food was ready. The smell alone had your mouth watering. A few people had already started digging in, but most were still waiting in line.
Upon spotting you, Sanji ditched his post and ran over to you. He handed you a giant bowl of stew. "I saved this bowl special for you, princess!" He exclaimed in that lovesick voice of his.
"Thank you, Sanji!"
He stared at you with anticipation. You could tell he wanted to see your reaction to his cooking. There were chunks of meat and vegetables floating around in the creamy broth. It looked like an average stew but you could tell by the smell alone that it was going to absolutely delicious. You took a heaping spoonful into your mouth and about melted on the spot. After just one bite, you could feel your strength returning.
Holy shit this is good!
"Sanji, this is amazing!"
"Nothing but the best for a lady as beautiful as you!"
He really knew how to lay it on thick. People in line started groaning. You weren't sure if it was because they were hungry or if they found Sanji's behavior sickening. Eh, it was probably both. Sanji reluctantly returned to his post to continue serving the hungry people. Each person's face lit up as they took their first bite. It didn't take long for people to shovel through their first bowl and go looking for seconds. It was a good thing the pot was as large as it was.
As the feast raged on, you slowly made your way around to officially introduce yourself to your new travel companions. The Straw Hats were some of the most eccentric people you've ever met, but that didn't bother you. It was actually really refreshing. You already felt like you were right at home, judgement free.
The only people you hadn't had a chance to talk to yet were Zoro and Luffy. You looked over to see Luffy was still pretty busy stuffing his face. It was almost terrifying just how much food he had downed. In the opposite direction, Zoro was sitting by himself with a giant bottle of sake. It almost looked like he was on guard duty with the way he was staring down the Marines and the tied up pirates.
Wait, don't tell me he's avoiding the feast to keep watch.
You understood that Marines weren't to be trusted, but it was pretty clear you all had come to a temporary truce. Though, with as carefree as his captain was, you couldn't really blame Zoro for wanting to keep watch. But, was he really effectively guarding anyone if he was drinking on the job? The curiousity took hold and finalized your decision to approach him next. As you got closer, the smell of sake wafted in the air around him.
Just how much has he had to drink?
"Well if it isn't the idiot cook's 'princess.' Thanks for gracing me with your presence your highness."
Oh, two can play that game.
"But of course! A good ruler checks on all her subjects, even the dogs," you reply. You take a seat directly next to him and hold your hand out expectantly. "Now be a good boy and fetch me some sake."
There was a flash of annoyance on his face, but it quickly spread into a huge grin. "Are you sure? This sake's pretty strong. Your delicate princess palate might not be able to take it."
"Don't question royalty. And make sure the glass is nice and full."
"As you wish, milady," he said while pouring you a glass. You hadn't had a drink in a looooong time, but you weren't about to back down from a challenge. He hands you the glass and it was nice and full just as you had requested. While it didn't burn, the smell was still really strong. Now wasn't the time for second guessing. You quickly brought the glass to your lips and took a huge swig—SPPPFFPTH!
You immediately it spit it out.
WHAT THE FUCK?! HOW IS THIS MAN NOT DEAD?!
Zoro erupted into laughter while you were violently coughing and gasping from. It had barely been in your mouth a second and it felt like you dunked a million paper cuts into a cat of rubbing alcohol. Sake that strong couldn't possibly be safe for consumption. "I tried to warn you," Zoro snickered.
"Ok, yea you were right. Happy?" You said as you finally caught your breath. Zoro's laughter was finally dying down as well.
"Don't sweat it. This is from my personal stash. No one else drinks this stuff. Here, this might be more your speed." He handed you a new glass filled with a different sake. You stared at for a few seconds while trying gauge its strength by its smell. Unfortunately, the previous sake had completely fried your sense of smell.
"No tricks this time, I promise." Zoro stated. The look in his eyes told you that he was being sincere. You looked back down at the glass and took a cautious sip. This one had a nutty flavor that danced across your tongue. It went down smoothly and left a comforting trail of warmth as it went. If you hadn't had the first sake, you'd say that Zoro had excellent taste.
Wait, how much alcohol does he have???
"You couldn't have given me this one to begin with?" You ask, shaking your thoughts away.
"That's what ya get for calling me a dog and trying to order me around."
"Fair enough."
You really thought you could handle it. Considering you could smell the booze from a few feet away, you knew it was strong, but not sterilize-your-throat strong. Lesson learned: don't challenge Zoro when it comes to alcohol.
"By the way, my name's y/n. I'm not any sort of royalty. I'm not really sure why Sanji's been calling me princess, not that I mind."
"He's a lovesick idiot, that's why," Zoro replied, annoyance clear in his tone.
"Oh, he must be quite the ladies' man then."
"You wouldn't be saying that if you had been with us on Fishman Island. That dumbass about died from blood loss because the sight of the mermaids kept making his nose bleed."
You laughed at Zoro's statement.
He must be exaggerating. There's no way someone could die like that.
"I'm not joking. That idiot has no self-control." Zoro said. There was no hint of sarcasm or anything indicating that he wasn't serious. He must not get along with Sanji very well if he's trying this hard to convince you of something so ridiculous. You decided it was best to stop talking about Sanji before Zoro got more annoyed than he already was.
You guys had a few more drinks while watching everyone else carry on. Neither of you spoke much. You had spent almost all of the social energy you had left. Your eyes became as heavy as you sat and drank some more. The sake was so good you hadn't realized how hard it was hitting you. Between that and the exhaustion from everything that happened today, you stood no chance. Before you knew it, you were fast asleep.
Zoro's POV
What the hell is this chick's deal?
Y/n had fallen asleep on your shoulder like you were a damn pillow. It was embarrassing. The only reason you hadn't moved her was because the situation was pissing off the stupid cook. He couldn't do anything about it either because that would risk waking up his precious princess.
Everything about the way that idiot behaved around her was ridiculous. So what if she's attractive and smells like cookies? Doesn't make her a damn princess. Though, for some reason, that cookie smell was really relaxing. The longer she slept on you, the more relaxed you felt.
Despite her talking about that idiot chef, you had actually enjoyed drinking with her. You wish you had gotten a picture of her face when she spat out that sake. Luffy would've thought it was hilarious. You'll just have to get her to do it again later. You had heard Chopper saying something about her coming with you guys because she was sick. She didn't look sick to you, but you're not the doctor so what do you know? As long as she doesn't try to hurt your crew, you couldn't care less. She certainly didn't smell dangerous.
Eventually, it was time to set sail. You scooped her up and carried her over to the Sunny. You made sure to make it look like you weren't being very careful with her just to piss the cook off even more. Though you were being at least a little careful. Last thing you wanted was for her to wake up and puke on you. That sake must've still been a little too strong for her. She managed to sleep through all the shouting from the kids and Marines as they said goodbye. She was gonna have one hell of a hangover.
Chopper had you take her to the infirmary so he could monitor her. He was already getting to work on a hangover remedy for her. You lingered for a moment after laying her down. She looked so peaceful. Too bad that won't last long on this ship.

Chapter 3: That Smelly Smell that Smells Smelly
Word Count: 2.1k
It didn't take long for them to subdue the enemy now that the rest of the Straw Hats had arrived. You learned that the man and woman were called Buffalo and Baby 5, respectively, and that they worked for the Master's—
No, that man is not my Master. He's undeserving of such a title.
They worked for Caesar's boss. They also had some sort of history with Law. Using the sea prism stone handcuffs, they were securely tied up and set to the side. With little discussion, everyone got to work. Chopper tended to the injured. Law took the children for treatment. Sanji and the skeleton started constructing a fire pit. The Marines worked with the robot to fix the tanker.
You make your way over to Sanji and the skeleton to see if there's anything you can do help. You wouldn't consider yourself an expert chef, but you always enjoyed helping your dad with the cooking. Your mom had a talent for burning everything she touched so you became dad's assistant cook at a young age.
Right before you're about to introduce yourself, the skeleton turns to you, "Well hello there miss. Aren't you a beauty? Say, would you be kind enough to show me your panties?"
The fuck?
Sanji whips around and kicks the skeleton square in the face sending him flying.
"Yohohohoho!"
Sanji straightens his jacket, "Don't mind Brook. He doesn't always have the best manners." You were about to tell him he went a little overboard, but that would be a lie. Who just goes around asking to see strangers' underwear? You got the feeling that Brook asks that a lot despite the negative reaction that comes with it. You decide it's not presently worth dwelling on and go back to what you originally came over to do.
"I was just coming over to see if you needed help cooking" you said.
"Just being in your presence is all the help I need. Why don't you have a seat, princess?" Sanji replied, the cool-guy demeanor once again being replaced with sappy lovesickness. He quickly stacked some of the extra bricks near him for you to sit on. The quick flips in personality were jarring, but you didn't mind. It actually felt kind of nice to have someone fawn over you, especially a hot guy.
As you sat down, that ocean scent once again crept up on you, filling you with a warm, fuzzy feeling. It matched that sappy energy Sanji was putting out. That alluring scent continued to linger while you sat and watched. You don't know how, but you're certain that smell is coming from Sanji. Unsure if you should say anything, you start nervously twirling a loose string from your clothes around your finger. You didn't want him to think you were just going around and sniffing people, but the curiosity is clawing at you. It doesn't take long for Sanji to notice that something is bothering you.
"Is something bothering you, princess?" He asks.
"Well… This might be an odd question, but are you wearing a cologne?"
"No, strong perfumes and colognes would distract from the smell and taste of my food. Why do you ask?"
"It's not important."
"Everything is important when it concerns you."
Ok, Cheesy. Whatever you say.
"I think I'm just exhausted and hungry. I keep imagining smells that aren't there."
"That could be it, but you should probably have Chopper check you out just to be sure. With all the experiments Caesar had going in his lab, it could be a side effect of something else."
"Yea, that's a good point. I don't really know exactly what all they gave me while I've been here." You rise from your seat. "You better save me some of whatever you're making. It smells fantastic."
"Anything for yoooooou!" He swoons.
His eagerness to please was very cute. You let out a little giggle before turning to find Chopper. Last you knew, he was somewhere near the tanker tending to the injured. You trudged your way over to the tanker. Everyone who was injured was patched up now. Upon reaching the ramp to board the tanker, you hear Chopper shouting. You rush up to where you heard the shouting. Law is leaning on the doorway to the inside of the tanker. In an instant, you lock eyes. "Is Chopper in there? Sanji told me I should have him examine me."
Not breaking eye contact, Law silently nods. His tired eyes bear into you, holding you in place. His gaze is intense, but not uncomfortable. Almost like he's trying to decipher a code. You finally tear your eyes away to move inside when he steps in your path and places a hand on your shoulder. "Wait a minute. I have some questions I wanna ask you."
An overwhelming cooling sensation floods your nose. The sudden sharpness in the air makes every single hair stand on end. It was like you were laying in one of the fields of peppermint that ran wild on your home island. Except this peppermint would be able to grow around your limbs like vines preventing you from leaving. Completely frozen, you almost forgot why you had come over the tanker in the first place.
Slightly irritated, Law asked, "Hey, are listening to me? I asked 'Who are you?'"
You had been so engrossed in the peppermint that you hadn't realized Law was speaking to you. Softly, you respond, "Sorry. My name's y/n."
"Ok y/n, What are you doing on this island?"
"I was brought here almost a year ago. They told me I had some rare disease and could come here for treatment or be handed over to the World Government."
"How come I haven't seen you before?"
"They only ever let me out of my room for testing or to see the children in the Biscuit Room. Though they hadn't let me go the Biscuit Room for the past few months either."
With that answer, he relaxed a bit and removed his arm from your shoulder. "What exactly are you sick with? At a glance, you seem healthy."
"I don't know. They wouldn't tell me. All I know is that if I miss my injection, this unbearable heat takes over and it's like I'm stuck in a daze."
"Hmm. I wonder if Caesar's been drugging you just like the children. Only thing is I can't think of why he'd do that. You're clearly not a child so you wouldn't be a part of his giantism experiments."
Clearly not a child?
Something about how he phrased that bugged you. It wasn't that you were trying to look any particular age, but it just felt a little rude. Usually, you wouldn't care and would just brush it off. However, his entire demeanor felt like he was accusing you of things you haven't done and you were fed up with it. You decided to give him a taste of his own medicine.
"Are you saying I look old?" You ask while faking an offended look.
At your question, his face began to turn bright red. He tucked his head in attempt to hide his face under the brim of his hat, but it was too late. You had already seen his embarrassment. It was a small victory that you hoped he would learn from.
"I just meant that a physique like yours wouldn't be developmentally appropriate for a child."
Now that you think about it, your clothes were pretty form fitting. You wore a long-sleeve, white body suit that covered you completely from the base of your neck down to your ankles. It was tight against your skin, but the fabric was soft and stretchy so it was only uncomfortable if you thought about it for too long. The suit was also lined with fleece so you wouldn't freeze. Your old room was close enough to the outer edge of the lab that the building's heat wasn't always enough to keep you warm. Law's assessment was pretty solid and it was obvious that he thought of most things from a medical perspective. Unfortunately for him, this was the perfect ammo for toying with him further.
"So you were staring at my body then." You say as you cross your arms.
He whipped his head up, completely dumbfounded by your accusation. You had backed him into a corner and he was too stunned to speak. Staring into his eyes, you could see him struggling to process his next move. The satisfaction was quite empowering. You noticed a hint of that sweet smell from earlier began creeping in. The way it mingled with the peppermint scent was making your heart race. It was strong enough this time that you could tell it had a slight spiciness to it too.
Within an instant, Law snapped out of his bewilderment and moved into a defensive position."How are you doing that?!" He demanded.
"Doing what? I don't know what you're talking about!"
There he goes accusing me of things again!
"That smell! It's sweet almost like a cookie, but it's more than that. It appears to have a psychological effect with it. It's almost as if I can read your emotions from it. I noticed it earlier while we waiting for the Straw Hats to escape the lab."
"Wait, you can smell it too? I thought I was going crazy! Can you smell the peppermint?"
"Peppermint? No, I don't smell any peppermint."
You huff and lower you head. You couldn't make sense of what you were experiencing. With a deep breath, you noticed the smell had changed. It was like it was burning. That's when it clicked: gingersnaps. The blend of sugar and spice couldn't be anything else. They were your favorite. Your mom never gave up trying to make them for your birthday so you were very familiar with the smell of burning gingersnaps. You now had proof that you weren't imagining things all day, but how were you both smelling them now? It didn't make any sense. It made even less sense that he couldn't smell the peppermint. If you were blindfolded, you'd guess you were standing in a candycane forest with how strong the peppermint is.
How the hell can he only smell the gingersnaps?!
"You didn't answer my question. How are you making that smell?" Law pressed again. You could tell his patience was wearing thin.
"I'm not making it! What makes you think it's me?"
"Like I just said, I can read your emotions through it. You're distressed and the scent has an upsetting burnt quality to it. It's same as it was when we were still in the lab. It's putting me on edge."
"That could just be a coincidence. With everything that's happened today, that's too vague to prove I'm doing it. We've all been stressed."
"Yea, except it didn't always have the burnt quality. Just a moment ago, it smelled like it was fresh out of the oven. It was sweet and warm with a hint of spice. It made me feel..." He stopped himself before finishing his sentence. He has been thinking out loud. He tried to hide his face again, but that didn't stop you from seeing a hint of pink return to it. "It matched your suggestive attitude."
Now you were the one who didn't know what to say. Not only did he draw a reasonable conclusion about you making that scent, but he also practically admitted that it turned him on. As you thought about his admission, you noticed the undertones of the gingersnaps started to shift from burnt back to the freshly-baked aroma Law had described. You hated to admit that he was right. This whole thing was very confusing.
Why now?
Before either of you could say anything more, Chopper walked out from where the children had been treated. You both quickly tried to act casual. "Law, I'm sorry I accused you of hurting the children. They'll all be fine thanks to you."
"Don't worry about it." Law said as he turned to leave. Thankfully, Chopper didn't seem to notice how tense things just were. Chopper turns to you, "I haven't looked at you yet. Did you have any injuries that need treating?"
"I'm not hurt but Sanji told me that you should take a look at me. I've been surround by weird smells all day, but it's seems I'm the only one who can smell most of them."
"Weird smells? Given Caesar's experiments, there's any number of things that could be causing that. Well, let's start with a basic examination and then we can talk about it more. Come with me." You nod in agreement and follow Chopper into the tanker.

Chapter 2: PANIK
Word Count: 1.6k
You didn't speak much, but through the course of running towards Building R you were able to pick up a little bit more information. Presently, you were running with pirates, G-5 Marines, and a majority of the children from the Biscuit Room. You had learned the names of the pirates around you. While you still didn't know what crew they belonged too, you couldn't help but feel like you had heard of them before. It's hard to say though. Even before coming to this island you weren't someone who kept up with the news. Your parents always claimed that the World Government often tampered with the newspapers so there wasn't much point in reading it.
A quake far larger than the ones you felt before rattled the entire facility bringing everyone to a hault. Large cracks formed in the walls. Pieces of the ceiling began crashing down. Robin points to the cracks and shouts, "The gas is seeping in!"
The children begin breaking down. Several of them are saying they are too tired or scared to keep running. The pirates quickly convince the children that they have to keep going. Just everyone starts running again, another set of footsteps can be heard in the distance. From one of the halls ahead of you, a muscular man with green hair appears. He's carrying a lady over his shoulder. You can't hear what they're saying but it sounds like they're arguing. As he runs closer, you're able to take in more of his features. Across his chest is a massive scar that looks like it runs deep. There's also a scar over his left eye that remains closed.
I wonder what the other guy looks like...
Snapping you out your thoughts, Sanji begins scolding him over his treatment of the lady. "Mosshead! You can't just carry her like a sack of flour!"
Nami yells, "Turn around, Zoro! Go the other way!"
Zoro… I know I've heard that name somewhere…
Without a word, Zoro turns around and starts running the same direction as us. Now that you can see her face, the lady the Marines have been calling captain looks clearly embarrassed by the situation. You can't blame her. You'd be pretty embarrassed too if someone who is supposed to be your enemy had you slung over their shoulder.
Regardless, all the Marines seem to have a boost in morale now that their captain is with them. After a few more minutes of running, Zoro hands the lady over to one of the larger Marines so he can move to the back of the group with Sanji and Robin. With everything the children have been through today, several of them are lagging behind. The pirates and Marines work together to make sure no one's left behind. It's an odd yet refreshing sight. With Nami taking the lead, everyone continues running while spuring the kids onward. You focus all your determination into your words, "We're almost there! You'll get to see your parents again!"
We WILL make it out alive!
The group ever so slightly speeds up. Each stride has you feeling more and more invigorated. All the words of encouragement must be manifesting some extra adrenaline. The sensation almost reminds you of a sugar rush with the way your heart races and the smell-
Wait, what is that smell?
It's very faint but you swear you can smell something sweet. You inhale deeper to try and get a better idea of what it is, but it's too faint.
I did miss lunch. Perhaps I'm just imagining it.
"Hey! Luffy!" Nami calls out, cutting off your train of thought. Once you see him, it all clicks. These are the Straw Hat Pirates and standing before you is none other than their captain, Straw Hat Luffy. Next to him is an unconscious Brownbeard and a small, pink dragon. Behind them is a giant hole busted in the wall leading into a tunnel. The entire scene is so bizarre that you momentarily wonder if you're still dreaming. Unsure what to do with yourself, you watch as everyone catches up with each other. The Marines all seem worried that Vice Admiral Smoker hasn't showed up yet. A quick scan of the room shows that Chopper hasn't returned with Mocha yet either.
Two men hauling a string of large, motorized carts emerge from one of the other halls that empties into the room. One has striking white hair and two cigars in his mouth. A tattered Navy jacket covers his shoulders but leaves his chest exposed. The other man has a fluffy hat adorned in spots that match the spots on his pants. The bags under his eyes are so exacerbated that it looks like he hasn't slept in weeks. They're both covered in a mixture of dirt and blood. They must've had a hell of a fight.
"SMOKY!" The Marines all cheer and surround the white-haired man.
Well that name's pretty on the nose.
"Hey, Traffy!" Luffy shouts at the other man. You notice the tattoos on his hands read "DEATH." It didn't take much for you to realize that he must be Trafalgar Law, the Surgeon of Death. Right before coming here, everyone in your village was talking about him being named a Warlord of the Sea. None of them bothered to mention how attractive he was though.
"Straw Hat. Where's Caesar?"
"See that hole? I blew him straight that way. The door got a little busted."
"What! The plan was to kidnap him!"
"Why? That guy sucks anyway. Let's just leave him."
The irritation is very apparent on Law's face now. "The point of a plan is to stick to it. I knew I shouldn't have trusted you with this. We have to go after him."
Luffy blows him off, turning his attention back to the door. The building shutters as parts of the ceiling crash down again. Law beacons everyone to climb in the carts so they can escape, but Luffy refuses to move. As you climb in, the remaining Straw Hats join Luffy. An alarm blares as the main door starts to close.
Law yells at Luffy. "Straw Hat! We have to go!"
"No, they're coming. I won't leave behind my friends."
In the distance, a wall of gas can be seen flooding down the hall. You feel your breath start to quicken again. Mocha still isn't here.
Did the gas already get them?
The anxiety quickly spreads amongst the kids. Some of the smaller ones lean in to cling onto you for comfort. Without warning, Law whips around to stare at you. His gaze is hard as if you had threatened or offended him. It makes you want to curl up into a ball and hide. Just as he opens his mouth to speak, cheers erupt through the room. All the missing people burst into the room right before the door shuts.
More people fly down the stairs to join you. Wasting no time, the remaining people scramble into the cart and we begin rushing down the long tunnel. The panic in you settles. Some of the pirates begin discussing what we'll do once we reach outside, but you tune them out. You're too exhausted at this point to care. You didn't even react to the talking skeleton. You just wanna rebuild your pillow fort and climb inside.
The ride was not smooth in the slightest. One of the kids still clung to you as the cart barrelled down the tunnel. You gently rubbed her back in attempt to help her stay calm. Her frock was covered in dust from all the crumbling pieces of the lab. Trying to get it off was pointless since there was still debris falling around you, but you didn't care. It gave you something other than the chaos to focus on. There were plenty of other people panicking enough for all of you. As if on queue, Chopper screamed.
Yup, plenty of panicking.
The gas from the lab was beginning to catch up. Thankfully, the gas at the end of the tunnel shouldn't be a problem. Nami's staff thing (you didn't catch the name of it) happened to have weather abilities. You definitely have to ask her later where she got it. Something like that could be useful for you once you're off this island. You weren't sure what you were going to do, but you knew you didn't want to end up in a situation like this again. Maybe you could find someone to train you. Your parents had already taught you basic self defense and evasion, so you wouldn't be starting from zero.
My parents…
It'd been so long since you saw them last. That's one thing you had in common with the kids of the Biscuit room: you really wanted to see them again.
Despite a few close calls with falling debris and the gas being right on your asses, you all finally manage to make it to the end of the tunnel as Nami blows the gas in front you out of your path. You were still pretty exhausted, but you felt a little bit of energy return to you upon being surrounded by everyone's cheers.
"'Bout time you showed up. I was getting tired of waiting."
You look over to see a giant tanker in the water. Standing on top is a giant robot unlike any you had seen before. It had what you assumed was the Straw Hat Jolly Roger on the front and a point on it head that resembled a pompadour. There was a woman wearing burgundy dress with a white apron and a large man with a yellow jacket and hair that looked almost like propellers standing near the tanker. It looked as though they had been fighting the robot.
Before you can process anything else, the robot leans to one side, pressing the back of its forearms together. It holds the pose and shouts, "SUUUUUUPER!"

You've spent the last year being treated for an unknown illness in Caesar Clown's lab on Punk Hazard. After his defeat, you accompany the Straw Hat pirates in hopes of finding answers.
This is my first ever fic, so I hope you enjoy!

Chapter 1: Ocean Man
Word Count: 1.5k
You lay restless in your bed and pile of pillows. It's been over an hour since someone was supposed to come grab you for your next round of testing. Something's wrong. They never take this long. Spreading your fingertips over the thin, rough sheets, you count each pill of fabric in attempt to keep your mind occupied. The last thing you need right now is a panic attack.
You never use to experience panic like this before coming to the lab. Supposedly, it was a symptom of your disease. Master never told you what you were sick with, just that it was very rare. It honestly sounded like a load of bullshit, but, at the time, you didn't know what else to do. The sickness set in the morning after you had eaten that fruit. You knew better than to eat unfamiliar things, but you were low on berries and getting desperate. The scientists found you in a state of almost pure delirium. You didn't know how long you had been like that, but it was unbearable. The way your body burned felt like you had been locked inside a sauna.
You were given two choices: come with them for treatment or be handed over to the World Government. The choice was pretty easy. Both of your parents were small-time pirates in their youth. These scientists seemed pretty shady, but no way were you going to fall into the hands of the World Government.
For the past year, you've spent every day following the exact same routine. It started with meetings. They'd introduce you to various people and let you spend some time making small talk. Between each person, they'd ask you about the meeting while your monitoring heart rate and breathing. After that, you'd move on to treatment. They'd draw some blood for testing followed by an injection. The rest of the day you were allowed to spend in your room as you pleased. Your room was under constant surveillance which did take a while for you to get use to. The best days were the ones where you got to go visit with the children in the Biscuit Room, but it's been a couple months since the last time they allowed that.
No matter how many times you asked, Master would never tell you how any of this was relevant to your condition. All you knew was that you had to play along to keep that horrible heat away. A couple months back, you refused the injection for a few days. The plan was simple. You weren't going to cooperate until someone explained what was happening to you; that was until the heat settled back in. It was stronger than before. The following week you were in a complete daze, unable to do anything but huddle in your pillow fort. There was no end in sight. Eventually, you surrendered. Whatever that feeling was, it was NOT worth suffering through to get answers.
Your eyes grew heavier as you kept counting. Just when you were about to nod off, the whole building shook.
What the hell? Was that an explosion?
Another rumble surged through your room and down the hall. That was definitely an explosion. You ran up to the door and began to pound on it. "Helloooooo! What's going on out there?! Can someone let me out?!"
You yelled and pounded for quite some time, but no one ever came. All the while sounds of destruction echoed through the whole lab. The door had a magnetic lock that couldn't be picked open. It was also way too heavy for you to break down. Each breath you took was shorter than the last. The panic you desperately tried to keep under control was bubbling up to the surface. Unable to hold it back any longer, you felt tears wet your face as you slumped to the floor.
Are they just going leave me here?
Your whole body trembled as you crawled your way over to the safety of your pillow fort. Just as you were about to climb inside, your door was kicked completely off it's hinges. Peeking through your tears, you spot a tall, blonde man in a suit standing where your door once was. As you blinked to clear your vision, you noticed the odd way his eyebrows curled into little swirls. It was actually kind of cute. In fact, this guy was pretty attractive. Removing the cigarette from his mouth, he rushed to your side, "I knew I heard the sounds of a lady crying. Did Caesar's men hurt you?"
"The Master? No, none of them would eve-" you stopped as a wave dizziness crashed over you all at once. Accompanying it was a scent unlike any other. It smelled like the sea, but you had spent plenty of time on open ocean. This was different. It was closer to the gentle, saltiness of a beach at sunrise. Just as quickly as you had been worked up, you were calming down. It reminded you of the early mornings you spent fishing with your dad. He would get you up at the crack of dawn and drag you out on a little boat. You never were a fan of fishing, but you loved the time with him. He would always crack jokes and tell tales of his time as a pirate. That felt like a lifetime ago...
Before you could say anything else, the man scooped you up in his arms and began to run down the hallway. "Normally, I'd ask before sweeping a lady off her feet but we don't have time. Poisonous gas is making it's way through the entire lab and will kill us if we don't get out of here."
"WHAT?! Wait, is everyone ok? Surely Master is doing something to stop it."
"Your Master is actually the one who made the gas. He released it on the whole island and now he's trying to trap us all in the lab with it."
"No...."
At that moment, the man rounded the corner to the main hallway where a bunch of people were wrangling the kids from the Biscuit Room. The kids yelled and fought as though their life depended on it. You had never seen them act like this before. One by one, the rampaging children were being calmed by what you hoped were sedatives. Your eyes panned the room. "What happened to-" you stopped when you saw Mocha on the ground.
"MOCHA!"
Scrambling out of the man's arms, you rushed to Mocha's side where a raccoon was fussing over her.
Wait, why is there a raccoon?
"We need to get her to the examination room STAT!"
WHY CAN THE RACCOON TALK?
A bunch of the Marines swarmed Mocha and lifted her above their heads. They headed off towards the examination room.
"Wait! What's wrong with her? I don't understand what's happening."
A gorgeous woman with long, orange hair approached you, "Caesar had been giving all the kids drugs using candy. The kids started having withdrawals, sending them into a rampage for more candy. Mocha was helping us keep the candy away from the other kids when she sacrifed herself by eating all that was left..."
A pit forms in your stomach. You knew that Master was hiding things, but you had no idea it was this bad. You stare at the group carrying Mocha away, stomach churning. Seeing the despair on your face, the lady attempts to comfort you, "Don't worry, I have complete faith that Chopper can save her. We need to focus on getting the rest of the kids out of here."
Looking around, you notice that most of the kids have cleared their heads from their berserk state. Another stunning woman with long, black hair spoke up, "Nami's right. We need to get going before the gas catches back up to us."
The Marines all cheer in agreement as everyone begins running down the hall towards Building R. You're still confused about everything going on, but you'd rather not wait around to find out if they're telling the truth about the gas. Dashing to join the blonde man, you smell that ocean scent again. The scent caresses you into a calmer state of mind, but you're confused why you're smelling it again. Your mind starts drifting towards thoughts of fun at sea.
Is it coming from him?
Ripping yourself out of your thoughts, you look over to see him staring at you. He might as well have hearts for eyes. "You're just so beautiful! I have to know your name!" Whatever cool demeanor he had before seems to be long gone now. However, it doesn't really bother you.
"I'm y/n." you reply.
"Y/n! I've never heard a more beautiful name! You can call me Sanji."
Upon hearing Sanji say your name, you feel a new sensation. Almost like you forgot how to breathe, but in a pleasant way. Pushing down these confusing feelings, you keep running, unsure of what lies ahead.
