Did any of us actually expect to be Rick and Morty fans? lol. I feel like everyone's story starts with "Well, I avoided that show for ages because the fans were terrifying and some of the world's douchiest people like it, but it's so popular that I decided I'd give it a try, and..."

#really wanted to watch it when it first came out and i saw an episode per chance on as #didnt know how to pirate until much later so i really only got into at the season 3 or 4 mark #i dont even tell ppl that i like rick n morty unless i KNOW they like it cause of the fans #still feel like an asshole explaining why i like it lol #its worth it

not really under the impression that the new episode will really "reset" morty as I've seen some say. this isn't me calling it a bad take, just one I don't really agree with.

Morty still has the majority of himself, and I heavily doubt Rick would knowingly change morty to such an extent where he is near unrecognizeable. if he is very different to what we've seen in the recent seasons, I could see Rick immediately trying to fix it in some way shape or form. Whether that be through directly getting his old personality back or by helping morty to reform what he lost.

by the looks of how he's allowed Roy to stay on indefinitely, Rick most likely cares enough for Morty to allow even a small, insignifcant portion of himself to continue to live out his life within the video game.

Of course I would be upset if Morty was reset to factory season 1 defaults, but with the way the writers have spoken abt s6, it seems a bit too farfetched for me. if they do go thru with it, then I'd only hope its handled in an interesting and in character way.

Call me inane, but the idea of a significant plot point that would take up a good portion of the season being Morty accidentially getting some character development lost seems a bit...odd.

sometimes ill see dudebros complaining about the eroded line between the mundane and the fantastic in r&m s4-5 compared to in s1-3 and i am always baffled because it so clearly reads to me as a feature instead of a bug

Yeah, same here. Disliking it is fine, but I don't get this narrative that the show is getting objectively worse. If anything, changing and experimenting as the show goes on might ensure that it stands the test of time instead of ending up as a relic of 2010s nihilist tech bro culture.

Like damn, sometimes I think I'm the only one who thinks Rick and Morty is getting better and better. Instead of rehashing memes over and over, the show keeps pushing its own limits.
