Spoiler for Episode 9 of S9(from previews)
This season(9) seems to have a running theme with addiction. Rick’s always like that, but he’s shown more blackouts than S8 showed at least. Beth was passed out on the couch with tons of red wine(that was Morty’s glazed over memory). Morty drugs himself to make all of his abuse seem joyous after Rick had drugged him earlier with the same substance. Jerry downed tons of worms that ate your worries even after he had previously said no. Last season, we learned Jerry also hid alcohol in places like Beth does.
Now, in the new clip(S9E9), was wondering when it would get to her….. Summer! Well, it’s her room. Beth and Jerry are breaking into her stash while she’s gone to what I assume is a sleep away camp that parents send their children to when they act out, and they don’t want to actually parent them. In real life, there are lots of ‘wilderness therapy for troubled teens’ camps where they abuse children. It usually starts with them being ‘legally’ kidnapped. I’m wondering if it’ll be similar to that with sci-fi elements
