I just realized that it’s been 10 years since Episode 28 came out...🥹 I'm incredibly emotional right now.🩷

I still remember this exact 10 years ago today because I was the 🌸MOST excited girl🌸 in the world that day. Even though nobody would care, I’m still going to vent about it here... (lol) 😔✌️

Rosa was going to help me get closer to Castiel. A DOUBLE DATE?!! With the character I had been ✨️dreaming✨️ about for years but could never start dating????

🍀 Somewhere in the back of my mind, I was also curious and excited about how things would go with the other character and those routes. (And this is why hsl was the greatest game I played so far. I love all of them.)

But in reality, that day was just an ordinary afternoon. I came home from my awful real-life high school, opened my computer, and got jealous enough of the new girl called Priya previous episode. Then, I let go of my fear that she would take my place and start the new episode with internal fangirl screams.💓

I played the episode while constantly pausing because of excitement. I’d stand up, pace around my room to let it out, then sit back down on my chair. I was SOOO happy I could barely contain myself. Castiel was teasing me as usual, as always, made me giggle. When Rosalya said “A goodbye kiss is coming tonight” ... My excitement doubled.🫢

When Castiel was about to kiss me before dropping me home, MY HEART WAS ABOUT TO JUMP OUT OF MY CHEST. It was the first time I ever felt my heart beat like that.❤️ I could literally feel the butterflies in my stomach. Of course, then we got caught to Candy's dad, and I felt embarrassed and guilty because of Candy's lies to her parents...

The rest of the episode was tense until the kiss finally happened.. And the kiss… Does it count as my first kiss? Cause I think IT ABSOLUTELY DOES!.. It was a perfect episode... Even after 10 years, my feelings are still so fresh.

I miss you so much, my candy love high school life… No other game can make me feel these butterflies like you...🦋

I did! But more importantly I want everyone to know that I won’t be posting a lot of my screen shots as the good ones tend to spoil the game and I’m not about that 😉

In general, this one was muchhhhhh harder than the original iterations of the game. I liked it for sure as I find this game in particular to be way more interactive and fun than most of voltage’s fare (and most os otome games for that matter), but liked it less than the first season (though perhaps that’s because I’m old and all these characters were early 20s!).

I don’t really like how everyone’s hating on Kentin after this episode.

Deborah being a manipulative little shit: Oh, what a mean girl.

Amber, trying to destroy Candy every.single.day. : Deep inside she’s a good girl. I hope she has a redemption arc.

Dake (no further description needed): Hottie! I wish he was dateable!

Castiel, constantly calling Candy names, including flat-chest, treating her like shit during the Deborah-Arc: That’s just Castiel. We still love him.

Nathaniel, trying to end the friendship after Candy’s try to help him: Poor baby, he has it rough.

Priya, behaving like a psychopath, saying Amber is going too far while being even worse than her: Ahhh, she’s bi! Finally we have a character like that! We don’t even care that she is acting immature and unreasonable, we just want to date her. Hrhr.

Kentin, being insecure his WHOLE life, everyone making fun of him, (the love of his life having a boyfriend), finding someone who ‘likes’ him, making some mistakes: OMG WHAT AN ASS WE NEED TO REPLACE HIM HE’S SUCH A JERK WHY DON’T YOU ACT YOUR AGE I KNEW HE WAS A BAD PERSON

And I bet there are a lot of more examples. But I think you get my point.

Well, I know I am overexaggerating, but that’s just my feeling at the moment. Can we just stop the Kentin hate? He’s a 17-18 year old, of course he makes mistakes. I am sure he will realize that soon enough.

Castiel’s HS route was problematic because of his body shaming and basically calling Candy dumb and stupid any chance he could get.

Nath’s rude personality in the bad ending isn’t that shocking because in HS if you didn’t agree with him he would answer rudely to you.

Armin’s super build body was a turn off.

Lysander got more a sad ending than Francis, Nathaniel’s abusive father.

Candy should have had the option of not forgiving Amber.

I don’t like Priya’s blue eyes because it feels more like it’s just there for aesthetic and it adds her to the list of many poc characters with European features.

Kim with braids would have been hot as hell.

Lucy, Alajéa and Eweilen don’t deserve the hate they got. Just because they liked one of the boys doesn’t mean they deserve the hate.

Both Alexy and Rosa are not that much of a good friends to Candy.

Deborah was a bitch, but Francis should receive more hate.

Peggy would have been much more of a interesting character if Beemoov didn’t delete away the concept of the original creator. The same goes to Kim and Melody.

Jade would have been a interesting as LI. There aren’t many gardening lover LI. It would have been original.

Dimitry’s whole semi-dateable option was creepy as hell.

Nevra wouldn’t be as popular if he wasn’t a vampire.

Chrome’s sexualization made by Beemoov is disgusting.

Cameria and Eweilen are more hot than all the LIs in ED.

Huang is a walking mess. In both design and personality.

Naytili should have been kept in the game.

bro, i’m this close to say that Kentin, because of all the headcanons I have for him (which aren’t a lot but are interesting to me) is one of, if not my favourite character from My Candy Love ignoring completly the romantic relationship he has w Candy if you choose to, because for some reason I feel that’s like, the least interesting aspect of him¿for me obviously, if you love the boy I’m not blaming you, he’s really sweet. As the way I understand it, Kentin deals with A LOT of sexism and the interesting part is that, Kentin’s story shows how toxic it is for boys to grow up thinking like this and trying to act like he’s supposed to when in reality it isn’t really who he is, and that doesn’t mean he isn’t a boy like the others. Kentin is from outside the representation of a heterosexual boy, but when you get to know him you realize that all of that is a facade and he doesn’t feel comftable portraying himself, his masculinity, in that way, but because he has been teached that that’s the only acceptable way of being a man then he tries to be and feels oppresed by his “own” standard. Wish I could explain, or say more, but atm my mind isn’t really here, and my english is kind of weird, but hope someone would see this and elaborate more.
