(not-so) funfacts . . ophelia has always been close and.. you could say intimate with Natalie, so after the crash when Travis and Natalie's relationship started the bloom she started distancing herself a lot from Natalie and got pretty close to Mari (no, this is not challengers.). The concept was to make Natalie jealous but she actually ended up liking Mari's company (ok no maybe it is challengers).

(tw: eating disorder) As much as she loves the team, as soon as things start to get weird she starts to hide food, food she used to share with the others in different portions. She was used to run on dried fruits and cigarettes and.. there definitely was a lot of dried fruits in her suitcase, it almost sounded like she was planning to only eat that to nationals?

She didn't eat Jackie. At this point she was still sharing her fuckass (sorry.) food with the other yellowjackets. The second her eyes landed on the sight of them eating Jackie, she felt like throwing up (nah she threw up.). She had never been so grateful about her uncle when she landed her eyes on him who looked as equally horrified as she was.

She started the fire in the cabin. The only other person who knew was Travis (and Natalie but she learned that in season 3 and that's for another post lol). It's like she was sharing her thoughts with Travis, his grief. Javi wasn't her brother but she took care of him in a way the others didn't (she also lowk danced with him on doomcoming). But Javi wasn't the only reason she started the fire. She knew Benjamin, or as the others called him “Coach Ben” was planning to leave but she also knew she couldn't leave her team like that.. she hoped the fire would make him come back to her and maybe help them. (it didn't, sadly, little did she knew the fire would kill him in a way)

(tw: depression, suic-de attempts) Ophelia had always been a sensitive child, but atleast she used to have her uncle.. and some antidepressants, it had been months since the last time she felt the disgusting taste of fluoxetine on her tongue but she wasn't expecting summer to hit that hard, some people called it summer depression. After Benjamin's dissapearance, Natalie's hard job as the antler queen, she felt like she belonged nowhere. Well, she always did but lately it kept getting worse and Shauna's sudden hatred for her (and Coach Ben, but what's new?) wasn't helping. After Benjamin was caught, put on trial for something she did, she just couldn't take it anymore, she went back to the lake, that she liked to call her “safe place” and a sharp knife. . Everything happened so fast, the bleeding, the aching,.. she could feel them. Jackie, Javi even Laura Lee. She didn't even have the time to enjoy before she suddently woke up with a sharp pain in her wrist and the other yellowjackets staring at her, some worried, some dissapointed but Lottie? Her eyes were different, a way Ophelia had never seen before. “The wilderness chose. It wasn't your time.” Lottie said, with eyes of adoration, like she had just found her new muse.
Okay this is pretty bad and bashed but i have a lot more to yap about so i lowk probably will make a part 2 with MORE coach Ben and Natalie mentions because i wanted to focus more on Ophelia this time.
Now what if I write Oc x Van Palmer? I WILL TRY NOT TO SELF INSERT I SWEAR. I swear... Also i love any excuse to make a New oc anyways I don't have many followers but I will make a poll cuz yeah-
a/n: i got two reqs for this actually (other req here) so i put a fast track on this one lolol also i went kinda overboard i did not mean to write so much lolol
pairing: mari ibarra x misty quigley
completely sfw!! you’re good to go!!
okokok let me cook
- they’re such an odd pair but they make it work
- misty calms mari down and mari riles misty up
- do you see what i’m saying
- let me explain
- mari is mouthy as fuckk but a pointed look from misty
- and miss girl just rolls her eyes and shuts her mouth
- misty is quiet asf but one glance from mari
- and she’s making some intelligent argument that aligns with mari’s opinion
- mari’s such a bitch i love her
- such a hard ass to EVERYONEE but it is not uncommon
- to find her sprawled across misty’s lap
- whining and complaining about something
- and misty’s giving her short little quips and all but poking the bear
- but then if you look at her she’s got a hand in mari’s hair and she’s looking at her with the softest eyes and ajahdyjsab
- bringing back the height difference gfs except this time it’s like
- 4 inches
- wowza amirite
- no but seriously
- misty wearing mari’s hoodies😭
- with the sleeves all rolled up😭
- because her arms are so short😭
- im sick to my stomach
- mari coming up behind misty just to put her chin on the top of her tiny gf’s head
- they’re definitely the “agree in public, fight at home” kind of couple
- mari will go along with whatever misty is saying
- and then as soon as they get in the car she’s like
- “ok wtf was that i KNOW you did not-“
- and off they go
- but they’re so sweet with each other
- they’re both so bad at being nice to each other verbally
- their entire relationship is banter
- and then sometimes when things slow down
- maybe when it’s just the two of them
- it’s just really soft tentative compliments
- mari with her head on misty’s shoulder on the couch
- and she doesn’t look up from the tv or even pause it
- just a little
- “i liked your shirt today. you look good in blue.”
- and misty doesn’t say anything and mari doesn’t either
- but the words make themselves at home in the warm spot behind misty’s sternum
- or maybe they’re at a coffee shop and mari orders a drink
- and misty orders the same on and mari looks at her like ???
- and misty just shrugs and fights a smile and says
- “i trust your judgement…”
- someone kill me
- they’re an “i love you” ALWAYS kind of couple
- what do i mean you ask WELL let me tell you
- mari is pissed at misty for something?
- silent treatment the whole day
- BUT
- as she’s leaving, she still drops a kiss on the top of misty’s head
- “bye, i love you”
- “i love you too”
- and then back to silence
- or when they’re going to sleep after an arguement
- it’s misty’s soft little voice that mari picks up even as they’re facing away from each other
- “good night. i love you.”
- “i love you too.”
- no matter how upset or petty or frustrated they are
- they always love each other 😭
- ugh guys these are my little babies i love them so much
Getting older is so weird cuz why are they letting me drive? Why do I have to choose what to do for the rest of my life soon? I can barely function like a human. Why do I have such big responsibilities???
I wanna write but I've been so busy with school and holidays. im getting that post holiday burnout and its making me depressed, yay. But all that said I suck at writing and wanna get better so I gotta start writing soon!
Well fuck me gently with a chainsaw, I’d love to tell you how I feel about Heathers.
A testament to just how out of touch the mentality of the 80s was for the transition into the 90s.
The real villain in this movie is not JD, not Heather Chandler, and not even Heather Duke. It is all of the adults.
For them to both establish and enforce the rigid social climbings of society, downsize any emotional costs the intense social pressures have on the kids, then to lambast those kids for playing the same social games is sick. It’s sick, I tell you
Then don’t get me started on the performance of grief in this film. The adults expect the children they’ve raised in this cutthroat social structure to *grieve* the casualties of it.
I’ll have you know that this encouragement by the adults to grieve is not out of benevolence and emotional support, it is parasitic and self serving for all of the adults.
Maddening stuff.
Now, while an understandable reaction to this bullshit, JD’s nihilism is just as selfish as the adults. I give him slightly more credit because he, too, is trying to fill the role of an adult. His father.
Anyways, I could rant on and on about this film. I can’t believe it was a flop when it came out, perhaps because people didn’t like having a mirror held up to their 80s bullshit mentality.
