you wake up the morning after, after having been right to assume youâd be restless. the whole night was spent thinking about all of them. you couldnât eliminate a single one without some part of your brain begging you to reconsider. a small memory shard would be given to you every time you tried to eliminate them. a moment that made you like them.
and then youâd be back to square one.
gyuvin seemed younger, but he was charming in a youthful way. he still had all the stars in his eyes, while the others seemed to only have a few. he had beautiful dreams and ideas and you wonder if maybe, just maybe, you could run away with him. to a place where nobody knew either of you.
matthew was polite and kind and everything you expected in a partner. heâs practically perfect for you. heâs strong and saved you from so much embarrassment when you fell. he kind of felt like the hero you needed in life.
hao was someone who felt real. he felt genuine. you didnât feel like royalty around him, you just felt like you were someone and he was someone and you were destined to fall in love. you could see it when you were deciding whether or not to dance with hanbin. he felt it too. he was comfort and protection and calm. maybe thatâs what you need a little more of.
taerae, the hopeless romantic. god it felt like a typical romance straight out of a movie. whatâs nice is that these kind of movies are predictable. there are no surprises, just a guy who falls helplessly in love with you by the end of the story. you could be the happy ending that romeo and juliet never got.
jiwoong is familiarity, and also unfamiliarity. heâs someone youâve known for years, and also someone completely unknown to you entirely. and while you have spent this time not really knowing him, he has spent his time falling in love with you, to your surprise. he said heâs wanted to marry you all his life. maybe you could make his wish come true.
yujin is also familiarity, but in a different way. you could never marry that kid, but maybe you should consider the possibility of giving the position to him on paper so he could get the chance to rule like how heâs always dreamed of, and your real lover could be someone else behind the scenes. perhaps that is a good ending too, is it not? sacrificing everything so yujin gets a happy ending?
gunwook, the noble scholar, who gives meaning to the stars in the sky. heâs smart, effortlessly so, and heâs beautiful, adorable, sweet, etc. he could say thereâs meaning in the most innocuous things and you would believe him. the sun is shining a little bit brighter today? itâs a sign that weâre meant to be together, shine together.
and ricky. a ghost of a presence. an orange rose hidden in the bouquet, waiting for you to search and rescue it. heâs a mystery, but as you think more about him, ask around more, you learn how sweet the people around him think he is. they compare him to a kitten. youâre not sure you see it.
â
the night is slowly coming to an end. you can feel it in the air.
you look for a place to rest your unconventional bouquet, finding an expensive vase resting on a podium in the center of the room. you assume itâll do the job. you put them in the vase, adjusting them so each one stands out just a bit more. they look chaotic and mismatched together, but even still, theyâre all reminders of the beautiful people youâve met tonight. it would be a shame to hate them and their lack of uniformness.
your eyes search for suitors with flowers still in their suit pockets, a sign that you must still speak to them. one last suitor stands out to you. heâs tall and his hair is bleached blonde. he's wearing more modern styles of jewelry and makeup, he looks cool. trendy even. it means he doesnât fit in super well with the rest of the crowd, but he also stands out. he is incredibly attractive and his modern look is not doing him any disservice. heâs quite beautiful. you make your way over to him, but as he sees you, he walks over to meet you in the middle.
he tells you his name, but you donât quite hear him, âmy name is ricky.â
âhi, ricky,â you say with a giggle. itâs weird that you feel so shy, but the way that heâs looking at you is making you question everything. his eyes are enchanting, but heâs a little more reserved than he seems from far away and heâs quieter than he seems as well. he hasnât said anything this whole interaction besides his name.
thatâs probably the only reason you can keep talking to him without getting flustered, âi saw you fall earlier. you were with another suitor, i believe? it was so shocking.â
âwhat do you mean?â
âwell, so many people saw but you kinda fell into that guyâs arms so no one said anything,â he shrugs, âare you normally that clumsy?â
a part of you is screaming at yourself to recognize that he hasnât addressed you respectfully this entire time and that heâs talking way too casually. the other is too charmed by him to really care about the disrespect.
âi-i guess so,â you murmur.
âyou should be more careful,â he advises. you mumble out a shaky acknowledgment as he looks at his watch for the time.
âitâs getting late,â he comments, looking back up at you, âdid you succeed tonight? did you find âthe oneâ?â
a part of you wonders how he even knew of your worries about not finding âthe oneâ. a part of you knows he could of overheard. itâs still shocking.
âi donât know,â you say, and he shakes his head.
âno, i think you do,â he says in return. heâs serious, and the fact that heâs so self-assured makes you believe him just a bit.
you remember talking to a staff member earlier in the day, from a neighboring kingdom. they had sent a son of a powerful, wealthy duchess. they had called him something, an adoring nickname that didnât make sense nor matter at the time, and now looking back on it youâre wondering how someone like this could be so adored and practically babied by the people around him.
but they definitely referred to him as the one with the blonde hair.
the nickname was something you could not remember, but you could never forget how highly they spoke of him, like he was the sweetest person they had ever met. like he was a teddy bear.
which was ironic because the guy in front of you doesnât seem like that. maybe thereâs more under the surface.
because he is definitely a softer guy than heâs letting on. he can hide it with his intimidating energy and mystery, but you can see it in his eyes, in the way heâs nervous fidgeting with his hands. he seems sweet under it all.
you try to talk to him more, but he almost seems to be rushing to run away, disappearing practically mid-conversation into the crowd. itâs disappointing, but you can finally seem to drag yourself out of the spell you seemed to be under while he was around.
and then it hits you, he never gave me a flower. as you realize it, you walk over to the vase in the center of the room where you had put the other flowers.
you find an orange rose hidden in the bouquet. thereâs a note attached to it, taped to the thorny stem.
âremember me. ricky.â
the party has been over for a while now. not literally, you suppose, considering all the people still here. they wonât start to trickle out until you leave.
you retreat to the bar, hoping to find a certain comforting face once again. now that all the dancing has stopped, most of the guests are standing around, drinking, and chatting with their comrades. it may be hard to find the particular face youâre searching for.
and yet, right when you wanted him, he appears before you. it might just be magic.
âhello, stranger,â you say to him. your tone is much warmer and more fond than before. it has lost all sarcasm.
âdidnât i tell you not to call me that?â he replies as he turns to face you. it makes you smile knowing he recognized your voice, your teasing before he saw you. maybe heâd see the personality before the status, unlike so many people in your life, âare you doing alright?â
âyeah, why wouldnât i?â
âi told you to come find me if you needed a break, so i had assumed-â
âdonât assume anything, dear stranger. i canât only come to you during bad times. that is not love,â you say, reaching for his hand. he lets you take it and hold it in yours.
âmy apologies, your highness,â he says with the most endearing smile.
âbut unfortunately you were right,â you say, and he breathes out a laugh. itâs such inappropriate timing, but he canât help it. you playfully glare at him and he rushes to defend himself.
âiâm sorry, i shouldnât have laughed,â he says, âwhatâs wrong?â
you look away from him to gaze over the crowd, eyes wandering to your bouquet sitting gently in the center of the dancefloor. it stands out even more on its podium now that no one is dancing.
itâs an ominous thing. just sitting there peacefully, holding a representation of 8 different guys who offered to marry you, and also yujin, who you think forgot to give you the flower that was sitting in his pocket. you smile fondly at the thought.
out of all the possible thoughts to share with hao, you choose a very unspecific one, âi donât feel right about any of this,â you say.
âwhat do you mean, your highness? the party?â
âthis isnât right, hao,â you whisper anxiously. even though he can tell you didnât mean to say his name so casually, that it just slipped out without you noticing, he smiles. youâre already comfortable with him and that gives him peace, âi donât feel good forcing people to perform and be the perfect candidate for my husband so i can find âthe oneâ.â
âhey, donât say that. youâre not forcing anyone,â he squeezes your hand to get your attention back on him. you seem distracted.
âi just- it all feels so wrong,â you say, and he heaves out a big sigh like heâs preparing to make a huge mistake.
he pulls you by your hand into him, his free arm wrapping around you as your head rests on his shoulder. he rests his head against yours, letting you relax and breathe before he says anything else.
âiâm sorry,â he whispers, âiâm sorry i keep doing things without asking you. iâm sorry i keep disrespecting you as the future monarch of this kingdom. and mostly iâm sorry that you feel like youâre the villain here.â
youâre not crying, because keeping in emotions is something youâve been learning to do for years. god if you arenât a little bit close.
âthis should have been a cute story. a love story. finding your perfect match and having a perfect, happy ending,â he taps his hand against your back as a soothing motion, âinstead youâre here feeling like youâre the bad guy, like you forced everyone here. that must feel horrible.â
âit does,â you whisper back.
he chuckles, and you feel the vibrations from his chest. his rhythmic heartbeat comforts you.
âiâm sorry, your highness. if itâs any comfort, i can assure you that no one youâve met tonight feels forced to be here.â
âhow would you know?â you mumble against his shirt.
âbecause iâm standing here with you. i could not imagine being displeased with your company,â he smiles, you canât see it but you can hear it in his voice, âi could not imagine disliking you. i couldnât even begin to describe what that would be like.â
you raise your head to look at him. his eyes are so intense, but theyâre beautiful, burning into your soul.
âthank you, stranger,â you whisper to him with a giggle, and he scoffs, letting you go but still holding your hand.
âyouâre never gonna let that go, are you?â
âi donât think so,â you smile, and he smiles back.
âare you thinking of calling it a night soon?â he asks.
âyes, i think so. i am tired. i will think it all over in the morning,â you say, thinking of the restless night you are about to have. all those pretty smiles and charming personas. it will definitely take some time to decide who youâre going to marry.
âthen i suppose this is goodbye until i see you again,â he sighs, and it feels tragic. thereâs this heavy feeling on your soul, âwhether i see you again as my fiance or as an ally, please know that i will always be here to be your peace, should you ever need me.â
âthank you, hao,â you tell him, before suddenly, you remember something, âoh, my, i almost forgot!â
he looks shocked for just a moment, âwhat? what is it?â
you look back at him, apologetic for getting up to leave so suddenly, âi promised something.. to someone.â
of course, you see in his eyes that heâs not fond of what youâre implying. he looks subtly upset like heâs hiding it well. maybe your heart likes that he already wants you to himself.
you donât have to do it. you could stay with hao and be comfortable. he seems to be the only real person here. heâs sweet and charming. heâs a perfect bachelor.
but you see hanbin from across the room. his darling charming smile and his cheek dimples stand out the most. he is exciting, breathtaking, and it would be a crime to not dance with him at the very least one last time ( hopefully this isn't the last).
âstay with me,â hao says, tightening his grip on your hand. you stare at your hand being held in his, desperately holding on, âstay. please.â
âi promised him,â you whisper, looking up at him. something is going on inside his head, an emotion you canât exactly pinpoint. you give one last look to hanbin, who at very long last makes eye contact with you. his eyes shine impossibly brighter, like heâs found what heâs been looking for.
hao sighs, âthen go,â he changes his mind suddenly, and you turn back to face him, âno, really. go. dance with him. itâs okay.â itâs confusing and heartwrenching to see hao let you go like that. you know he hates the words leaving his mouth.
you mouth a simple thank you to him before running off to fall into the arms of your final dance partner of the night.
you get to him easily. heâs still just as effortlessly beautiful up close as you remember. he immediately reaches for your hand to hold. heâs warmer than zhang hao is. heâs not as soft spoken. heâs brighter. his grip is less gentle. so many little differences.
âhanbin,â you smile, and he smiles back. he adores how softly you say his name. itâs only been hours, but he thinks heâs ready to fall in love. it feels too fast and too quick, but heâs been preparing for this moment his whole life. considering he has no chance for his own kingdom's throne, marrying you would be fulfilling his destiny.
plus, he likes the way you look at him. he likes how clumsy you dance, itâs kind of charming. he likes how humble you are despite your position. he likes a lot about you already.
âwill you join me?â he asks, but when your face falls just slightly, he gets concerned. heâs faulting just a bit, his hand retracting slightly. heâs worried that youâre giving him this last dance as a final goodbye, âwhat is wrong, your highness?â
âyouâre asking for the⌠last dance,â you mumble, and before he has a chance to even respond to that, you wipe the sadness from your face and take his hand, âvery well, i suppose i will join you.â
heâs slightly stunned, but he follows. he feels out of place for wanting to correct you. you havenât given him the opportunity, but he still feels like he must. for your feelingâs sake.
âyour majesty, i had asked for your first dance as a formality. and i had asked for your last dance out of avarice for your time, but if i'm being honest,â he says, his grip on your waist as you sway together making the moment even more intimate. god, heâs so close to you, you can feel the breaths he exhales on your skin, âi think iâll need more than just those two.â
âyeah?â that, in all your dazed glory, was all you were capable of responding with.
âi would ask for all of them if that didnât feel just a bit too greedy, your highness,â he gives you a goofy smile and it just all stops. time freezes for just a second.
you let it all go for a moment, just enjoying your last moments of the night with him. he decides to relax and enjoy these moments as well, twirling you around and smiling so endeared when you giggle. he might just be in love already.
youâve gotten a little bit more bold since the first dance with him, and now that it is the last one, he happily lets you lead him around in your clumsy rendition of the graceful dance he had led you in earlier. he is so much better of a dancer than you are, but heâs patient with you. you step on his toes at one point, and you hurriedly apologize, but it doesnât even matter to him. his expensive shoes are replaceable; this moment with you is not.
people who look on simply see you and him, giggling and laughing at your silly dance, holding onto each other for fear youâll fall, and they must wonder if all these other suitors thought they even stood a chance.
âi have a request,â you say to him, âcould you promise me this is not our last dance?â
he smiles so endearingly, âyour highness, no matter what your answer is in the coming days, should you ever lend out your hand, i will reach for it. i will always twirl you around and dance with you, and we will come right back to this moment,â he says. it gives you comfort for a brief second before the anxiety of the question of who to pick comes back to you.
hanbin?
with his perfect smile and dimples, are you going to choose to spend your mortal life ruling a kingdom with sung hanbin by your side?
âthank you,â you say, pulling his hand close to your lips to kiss the back of it.
he shakes his head adorably, pouting, âoh, your highness, that should be me. i should be thanking you for your consideration and time-â
âhanbin,â you stop him, âthank you. i should go now, but i thank you for everything.â
the feeling of the kiss on his hand still lingers after youâve left him there.
synopsis- getting invited on an idol reality show where two groups have to live with each-other for a month seemed.. awful. but at least you got to bond with your long time crush and fellow leader over taking care of your own grown ass members?
chapter warnings: yn punches someone đ , written part is shit omg , yeji is mean im sorry yeji fans im sorry midzys forgive me , one (1) xanax mention
written part under the cut (~ 836 words)
this is not your proudest moment. listening in on someone's conversation, really?
but the need to know what's going on is stronger than any morals you might have. especially when you don't trust anyone in the student council except yourself. and hanbin, but he isn't being exactly cooperative lately.
"beomgyu, you always knew i liked hanbin. why are you acting like this is surprising in any way?" you aren't exactly a genius at recognizing people by their voice, but you can clearly tell that's yeji.
"are you serious? of course i knew, but that doesn't make anything you did correct! you're trying to ruin someone else's life over your feelings, if it wasn't for yn-"
something is telling you to take out your phone and record this. if you're going to snoop in someone else's business, might as well get a confession from the actual culprit out of it.
"there you go, it's always about yn this, yn that⌠do any of you ever get tired? if they weren't part of the student council this wouldn't have happened in the first place! it's their fault!"
"it's no one's fault but yours, yeji."
there you have your proof, you mentally - although reluctantly - thank beomgyu.
"see? you're on their side too! you hate them just as much as i do, you should be thankful i'm doing all of this!"
yeji dislikes you. you let the information sink in for what feels like an eternity, of course you knew it was like that the moment you found out she was behind all this, but you assumed it was all over her stupid crush on hanbin. no, hwang yeji just admitted she dislikes you.
you were never exactly desperate to be anyone's friend, or to be liked by everyone you met, but both of those things were never hard for you. or at least, you thought so until today.
your brain tunes out the rest of the conversation, as you silently stand right by the door, your phone still recordingÂ
"y/n?" a voice snaps you out of your thoughts, you blink quickly a couple of times, meeting woobin's eyes. "are you okay?" you nod with a small smile "yeah, i justâŚ"
you hear faint murmuring coming from the room, the silence enough for you to pick up a small 'they're here?' that clearly belongs to yeji.
you sigh, finally stopping the recording on your phone and hiding it deep into your backpack before something happens to it. you might be a bit paranoid, but with what yeji has been able to pull so far you wouldn't be surprised if she went that far to destroy the major evidence in your hands.
"yn!" and with that, she's back to the normal yeji you know, your friend. "hi yeji," you can't lie for shit, and everyone there can clearly tell something is up, not only between you two, but overall. beomgyu is on the verge of speaking and probably spill every single thing he found out about yeji, but you keep talking before he can "I wanted to talk to you, but you left my texts on read. is everything okay?" if she wants to act fake, you can too.
"oh about thatâŚ. i'm sorry, i had some issues with my phone and couldn't answer your texts," somehow, that small lie sets you off "you have issues overall."
"what?" you can see beomgyu trying to hold back his laughter, turning around to face the wall with a hand over his mouth. "you heard me. you have a ton of issues, because whatever stupid crush you have on hanbin, or your hatred for me, or anything else, shouldn't push you to do everything you did."
"i don't know what you're talking about, yn,"
"yes you do. want me to get the chats? or maybe i should get them from your phone," yeji rolls her eyes. it's only for a split second, but you can tell the more you corner her the more her mask slips off, and the truth will inevitably be uncovered.
the following minutes are a blur to you. yeji keeps making excuses, saying your accusations are baseless, until something tips her off. you don't know what it is, she probably doesn't know either, but she admits to everything.
she admits to stealing the money, framing hanbin, being behind the anonymous number, spreading the word of hanbin stealing through the whole school.
"he was the one who offered to help me cover it up! he felt bad i had to resort to stealing, so he said he'd take the blame if anyone found out!"
"and you took advantage of this and made sure everyone found out," you point out.
she keeps making excuses, saying anyone would've done the same in her situation - failing to realize not anyone has the morals of a rock - how you 'shouldn't act like you're so much better than her, you've probably done worse' . you don't know what took over you, but that's your last straw and, before you can think it through, you punch her.
â note: this was wayyy too late im sorry pookies :( i hated the written part ,, well ! see u with a new chapter in ,, whenever i have wifi again idk
â SYNOPSIS: sung hanbin is everyone's dream guy: perfect grades, perfect looks, perfect personality, he has it all. he's even class AND student council president! everyone loves him, and you, as his vice-president, are no exception to that. having been in love with him since you were 12, you try to tone down your feelings "for the sake of professionalism" and claim it's simple admiration for someone who objectively has no flaws. but there is one small detail you missed, in all these years admiring him: he has an even bigger crush on you.
hello !! could u write something with jeonghyeon and reader in school like they are already dating, and it would be about them being the "famous" couple in their school !! lijeong being a genius and the reader being dumb like an airhead but she really kind and all. teachers and students could be teasing them about being an odd couple haha
So without meaning
pairing: leejeong x reader
genre: highschool au (same verse as shy, shy, shy and tall& handsome), fluff
tw/tags:Â sort of character study, class couple, mean girls reference, flirting, kisses, woongki being salty, leejeong simp agenda as usual
wc: 756
summary: itâs not that you were an odd couple, more like you were smart in different ways.

When Gyuvin first transferred, Gunwook and Junhyeon made it their mission to introduce him to everything that there was to know about their highschool, sort of like those 90âs teen movies. So far, theyâve done a decent job.Â
Gyuvin now knows they served donkatsu at the cafeteria every second Tuesday, how to not piss off Baek Kooyoung-seongsaengnim and every notable class couple that he shouldnât get in the middle of.
Case in point, you.
It wasnât that you were stupid. No, definitely not. Maybe you made stupid decisions sometimes but doesnât everyone? Sure, you werenât the brightest bulb in the box (is that the correct analogy?) but you made do. You got decent grades, teachers liked you even if you had a tendency to daydream during class. And it helped that you were really nice in the very unintentionally genuinely good way that very few people were these days.
Itâs just- your boyfriend was-
âThatâs Lee Jeonghyeon.â Junhyeon whispers to Gyuvin as they watch the older boy walk down the hallway towards you. âGenius, sort of a lone wolf, all sorts of rumours floating around him.â
âWhat kind of rumours?â
[insert unnecessary montage]
âLee Jeonhyeon is flawless.â
âHe has an endless supply of bracelets and only owns green sweaters.â
âI hear his jawline is insured for 10 million won.â
âI hear he does underground rapping.â
âHis favourite colour is green.â
âOne time, he got recruited by this company and they told him he could be an idol.â
âOne time, he punched me for trying to kiss him.â A pause. Cha Woongki takes the time to flip his hair before sighing wistfully. âIt was so hot.â
[end montage]
Gyuvinâs eyes have grown twice their original size in disbelief. Junhyeon nods solemnly. Meanwhile, you and your boyfriend are none the wiser. In fact, heâs completely preoccupied by you grabbing his hand, chattering about something brightly as you tug him towards the cafeteria.
Most of the students give you a wide berth. But thatâs probably because your boyfriend is at least 185 cm and looks like he can cut a bitch on a good day. It was also sort of interesting, the contrast between you, like a manhwa plot coming to life. The resident genius and the bubbly airhead, complete opposites and completely enamoured by each other.
âJeonghyeoniee,â
The withering look that your boyfriend gives Park Hanbin would probably deter anyone else. But Park Hanbin is a dazzling force of nature with a brilliant smile and military commander-like focus when he gets invested in something. Trailing behind him is Kim Taerae, resident class-crush with his church-oppa like charms and soft, sweet voice.
âWhat do you want?â
Maybe Jeonghyeon would look more intimidating if he currently wasnât letting you feed him like a petulantly adorable child, practically glued to your side, holding your other hand under the table. You ignore the other boys, bringing another spoonful of rice and meat to his lips.
âThank you aegiya.â
âYouâre welcome, Leejeong-yah.â
âGod, I hate love.â Woongki fake gags from the other side of the table.
âWow, way to be single and bitter.â Hanbin shoots back, the other gasping dramatically.
âI am not.â
âAre too.â
âAm not.â
âNo fighting!â You insist after swallowing the bite your boyfriend fed you. Woongki coos at you.
âOh my poor, innocent baby, how did our big, bad Jeonghyeonie manage to score someone as sweet as you?â
âWoongki-ah, I punched you once, I can do it again.â Jeonghyeon grits out before obediently opening his mouth so you can feed him.
âOh please do,â The other boy says way too eagerly. You sigh. And they said you were the dumb one when you could clearly see your boyfriend being played. Also your food was finished and you kinda wanted one of those pudding cups that they brought out after you had sat down with your trays.
âLeejeong-yah?â
âYes aegiya?â
âWant pudding.â You pout, You really donât need to. Your boyfriend stands up right away and goes over to the counter to fetch one for you. Woongki rolls his eyes, applauding you slowly.
âUgh, your power. Literally you need to tell me how to get a boy completely whipped like that.â
You shrug. Jeonghyeon comes back with your much-desired pudding cup, proffering you a spoonful.
âLeejeong-yah, kiss?â
The rest of the table groans as he leans down and gives you a peck shamelessly. You smile and eat your pudding, stealing more kisses in between spoonfuls. Jeonghyeon might be a genius but he wasnât the only smart one in the relationship.
hi! can i have a platonic request for yujin with a male reader?
yujin joins a new school and is quiet and shy but male reader is the upbeat and excited (kinda like junhyeon) class president who wants to befriend him but yujin makes him work hard for his friendship? (idk this is one of those random late night thoughtsđ )
tysm!
Shy, shy, shy!
New student han yujin & class president male reader
genre: highschool au on crack, friendship, comedy
tw/tags: color-coded notes, yujin is a shy bean, a lil insecurity at the start, ft kum junhyeon, kim gyuvin & park gunwook for comedic purposes, age of trio is messed with a little to fit the narrative
wc: 1684
summary: you just want to be friends with the new student but it doesnât seem like he wants to be friends with you.
a/n my first request~ thank you so much anon! Iâm not sure if this is what you had in mind and i feel like itâs a little messy but i hope you like it! I tried to write it to be consistent with the korean highschool experience and ended up throwing the dog mafia trio in there for extra laughs â if you enjoyed this, Iâve got a ricky fic set in the same au and part two on the way~

âThis is Han Yujin-ssi. Heâs just transferred here and will be in your class for the rest of the year. Please take good care of him.â
You smile at the other boy while the teacher introduces you as the class president, returning his bow enthusiastically. His posture seems quite tense as he fidgets with the hem of his uniform jacket. Once the teacher leaves, you practically launch yourself into loosening him up.
âSo this is your desk, Iâm afraid weâll be stuck together for the rest of the school year so I hope you wonât get bored of me!â
âAhâŚâ
âDefinitely just ask when you need anything, especially if you need help catching up with any of the lessons, Iâll be happy to lend you my notes. These are my best classes,â
You gesture wildly to your notebooks. Yujin feels a little overwhelmed staring at the many brightly coloured post-it markers peeking between pages, all labelled in your handwriting. Everything on your desk seemed to function in some state of meticulously organised chaos.
âBut if you need tutoring for anything else, Iâll be happy to ask one of my sunbaes.â
âOh, thank you.â
You continue talking and Yujin just stands there. Itâs a lot. Youâre a lot. Not necessarily in a bad way, itâs just that you look so sure of yourself in a way that Yujin still doesnât know how to. He can feel his other classmates staring at both of you. He watches you turn towards their direction and they avert their eyes, going back to chatting among themselves. His cheeks begin to flush with embarrassment and he furiously tamps it down.
âDo you have any questions? Anything I can help with, Yujin-ssi?â
How can you look so genuinely earnest? It must be such a hassle for you to look after him when youâre already in charge of the whole class.
âAh no, itâs alright, thank you.â
Still, your bright demeanour doesnât dampen, cheerfully calling the class to attention as the teacher walks in.

âAh seriously hyung, Iâm pretty sure he finds me annoying.â
âYou are annoying though, youâre annoying me right now.â
âAh hyuuuuung.â
Youâre about to sulk when rather large hands plant themselves on either side of your face and begin squishing your cheeks.
âAigoo, aigoo, no need to pout, hyung is just teasing you.â
You met Kim Gyuvin after meeting Park Gunwook at a student officer meeting. Along with Kum Junhyeon, the trio of seniors were practically inseparable. And like it or not, theyâve unofficially adopted you.Â
Unofficial because your own mother had laughed when Kum Junhyeon showed up to your house with actual, legal adoption papers and then proceeded to pull up a whole powerpoint presentation to convince her to sign. While you expected Gyuvin to go along with this madness, you werenât prepared to witness the horror of watching your student officer sunbaenim sporting a full wig and speaking in a high-pitched tone that would forever be burned into your brain. You couldnât even look Gunwook in the eye at the next meeting.
Chaotic energy aside, your three hyungs were actually helpful whenever you did have a problem. Gyuvin pats your cheeks indulgently.
âHeâs probably just shy. As long as you donât scare the shit out of him like this one did when I first transferred over here, youâll be best bros in no time.â
âYou looked like you could bench press my entire body weight and you stared at me for an unsettling amount of time when seongsaengnim introduced us on my first day.â
Gyuvin retorted, now squeezing your shoulders like they were stress balls.
âThatâs because I couldnât believe that someone the same age as me could look so damn attractive. Itâs unfair.â
You braced yourself for the incoming dramatics.
âAh broâ
âBroâ
âI didnât know you found me that hot, bro.â
âYou really were something, bro.â
Gyuvin lets go of your shoulders.
âWait excuse me, were??â
âGyuvin-ah, you and Junhyeon literally have the same personality, I love you both, really, but itâs-â
âItâs what, huh? What is it? Say it.â
Youâre about to pull up some emergency aegyo to keep Gyuvin from fighting Gunwook. Luckily, Junhyeon has impeccable timing, almost non-existent volume control and a flair for theatrics.
âYOUâRE SPENDING TIME WITH THE BABY WITHOUT ME??? EXCUSE ME, DOES OUR AGREEMENT OF JOINT CUSTODY MEAN NOTHING TO YOU??? HOW DARE-â
Yep, time to do a reverse âJunhyeonie is 5â before someone loses their custody rights.

âOh Yujin-ssi, how are you? Is any of the material confusing? We can go over it at evening study if you likeâ
The other boy turns to you so fast that youâre afraid his neck might snap.
âAh, Iâm- everything is alright.â
Itâs becoming a pattern. You try your very best to get Yujin to feel comfortable and Yujin tensing up and giving rather brief responses.
You invite him to sit with you at lunch and he declines, disappearing from the hall.
You offer him a snack during evening study and he says heâs still full from lunch.
You ask if he wants you to get him a drink from the vending machine and he waves you off.
And heâs not even being rude about it, every response is extremely polite, frustratingly so. And you feel lost because itâs so clear that he feels the need to walk on eggshells around practically everything and you donât know why.
Despite being class president, you donât have much in terms of close friends. Youâre friendly with most of your peers but becoming an officer means that you donât have much free time and thus, the friends that you once had would end up hanging out without you. You knew, like Gunwook, that the title could make you come off as intimidating. And you genuinely wished that you could have what your hyungs did, an inseparable bond with all the chaos.
__________________________________________
Itâs three weeks in when Yujin doesnât show up for class. The day after, you find out from the teacher that heâs been sick over the weekend and his parents are keeping him home for a few extra days to recover. By the third day that the chair beside you remains empty, you use your class president privileges to find out his address and decide to pull a Junhyeon, armed with the weekâs class notes instead of adoption papers and unfortunately no powerpoint. Or a wig.
You knock on the door and wait. A few minutes tick by and no one answers. After double checking that youâre at the correct address, you knock again. As time drags out, you start to fiddle with your uniform jacket, wondering if this was a good idea. The door opens and youâre face to face with a woman who can only be Yujinâs mother.
You pull down your mask and bow, introducing yourself and holding out the notes that are meant for Yujin. Her face brightens.
âYou must be his class president, youâre the only person at school that he talks about. Come in, Iâll have his brother check if heâs napping or not. Heâll be glad to see you after staying home for so long.â
You try to decline, not wanting to put Yujin on the spot but she insists, ushering you in.
âIâve just been so worried for him after he had to transfer. He always gets so quiet with new people and Iâm so glad when I heard about you, really. Thank you for looking out for him.â
She says as you toe off your shoes, trying your best to smile and nod while youâre internally reeling from all the information sheâs unloaded.
âAh, Yujinie, your friend is here. Heâs been nice enough to drop off the notes youâve missed.â
Yujin pauses when he sees you sitting on the couch. Heâs a little pale but otherwise looks fine for someone whoâs been sick for almost a week. His mother thanks you again before bustling into the other room. Yujin takes a seat on the opposite side of the couch.
âI brought the homework.â
â...â
âAnd all the notes for the lessons this week.â
â...â
âIâve colour-coded them by class so you know which ones which.â
â...â
The silence drags itself out long enough for you to consider making an excuse and seeing yourself out. But before you can, Yujin finally speaks.
âWhy are you still being so nice to me?â
âUh- um- sorry, excuse me?â
For once, he isnât the one giving a brief response but youâve been caught off guard.Â
âI know you need to do the whole class president thing but seriously, you donât need to go out of your way to offer me snacks or buy drinks or even come all the way here to drop all of this off. Seriously, donât you think itâs a hassle? Why do you have to be this nice?â
This is literally the most youâve heard Yujin say since meeting him. Itâs groundbreaking. Incredible. Miraculous. Damn, you think your brain broke a little.
âI guessâŚIâm just being nice?...You know, for the sake of being nice?â
More like a lot.
âI mean you seem like a cool person. Like you arenât bothered by how I have to like use a different coloured pen for everything or when my sticky note markers end up on your desk or likeâŚyeah.â
You internally cringe at the word vomit that you let loose. Really, you didnât rehearse your class president candidate speech a million times to sink to this level of ramble.
Yujin laughs. Like actually, genuinely, laughs.
âYouâre actually kinda strange, you know. But yeahâŚâ
He grins at you.
âYou seem like a cool person too.â

âHELLOOO MY BABY- OHMYGOD!!!â
Yujin looks positively terrified as Junhyeon flaps his arms wildly at him.
âTHEREâS ANOTHER BABY!â
Gunwook looks vaguely amused, giving you a thumbs up before trying to keep Junhyeon from fully launching himself at both of you. Gyuvin takes one look at Yujin, turns around and walks out the door, mumbling something that sounded like âadoption papers.â

Sometimes you wonder why the cute boy, who you sometimes catch watching you stretch before practice, never tries to talk to you. Itâs not that youâre assuming anything. It just happens that he looks your way a lot. And yes, you do notice it. Maybe he thinks heâs subtle but he really isnât.
You havenât been in the dance club for very long. While youâve been trying different styles since you were little, your first year of university was a whirlwind, living away for the first time, getting used to classes, going to MTs and festivals, joining the organisations that your sunbaes recommended. It left you little time, if any, to look for a studio where you could practise your beloved hobby.
Luckily, one of your sunbaes introduced you to the dance club, open to all majors and exactly the thing you were looking for.Â
âOkay everyone, from the top.â
Youâve been grouped up with Seo Won, Kim Dayeon, Cha Woongki and Seo Youngeun for a cover of (G)I-DLEâs Tomboy, one of the performances that regularly made up the repertoire for the clubâs end of the semester showcase. The last time this song was performed had been legendary, led by now graduate students Shen Xiaoting, Zhang Hao and senior Sung Hanbin when they were in their first and second years. So yes, you had very large shoes to fill.
From the other side of the room, Seunghwan is definitely not watching the way you move your hips. Someone smacks the back of his head. He spins around only to see Chen Jianyu walking casually to his spot, the graduate student shrugging in response.
âI know you like them but can we do less staring at their ass and more practising please hyung.â
âIâm not staring at their ass.â
Seunghwan hisses at Lee Jeonghyeon who just looks back at him, unimpressed.
âSure hyung.â
Mun Junghyun chimes in because Seunghwan gets zero respect from any of his dongsaengs these days. As if on cue, Junhyeon decides to chime in at that very moment.
âSo should we do it like this? OrâŚâ He demonstrates a bit of choreography before realising what kind of conversation he walked into.
âOh was Seunghwan-hyung staring at- mmmph.â Seunghwan hurriedly shoves a hand over the otherâs mouth because Junhyeon has no sense of volume control about 80% of the time, now being one of those times.
âJunhyeon-ah.â
âMhmmph?â
âDo me a favour and please shut up.â
âHmmmhmph.â
With that, Seunghwan finally lets go because Junhyeon canât speak in muffled gibberish forever and also they actually needed to practise. Junhyeon stares at him but doesnât say anything. Itâs finally quiet. Actually, itâs a little too quiet.Â
Seunghwan realises that the music from your groupâs speaker cut out and heâs confronted by the magnificently judgemental stare of Cha Woongki while he calmly sips his water. Seo Won looks a little too entertained and the girls give him knowing looks. Luckily for him, youâre busy monitoring your practice on someoneâs phone.
âThat was great, hyung.â Junghyun decides to say because of course he does.
âVery subtle.â Jeonghyeon adds. Seunghwan swears theyâre the devils.
âIs he confessing now or are we starting practice?â Jianyu asks because even the eldest wonât give Seunghwan a break.
âThe new choreo please, Junhyeon-ah.âÂ
Seunghwan is tired.

âAnd for the record, you know Lee Seunghwan was totally staring at your ass earlier.â
âOh, is that his name?â
Woongki takes your face in his hands and proceeds to squish your cheeks.
âOh my poor clueless baby.â
âWeâre the same age?â Youâre vaguely alarmed and a little confused, eyes flying to Seo Won, your lovely sunbae just shaking his head.
âHeâs definitely into you.â Dayeon pipes up.
âHeâs never even talked to me though?â
âSeunghwan-sunbaeâs just shy.â Youngeun justifies.
âWell I think heâs being a pussy.â Woongki declares, all of you gasp, including the ahjumma whoâs about to take your orders. Dayeon offers her an apologetic look and asks for extra rice for the stew you ordered.
âDonât call him names when we arenât even sure if he likes me.â
âOh he definitely likes you babe, he just needs to grow some balls and confess, Won-hyung and I have money on him cracking by the interim check.â
âSunbae!â Seo Wonâs unfazed, calmly thanking the ahjumma whoâs brought steaming bowls of kimchi jjigae and rice to the table.
âI bet on the pre-final performance.â Dayeon says, grabbing some rice.
âOh same.âÂ
âI- wait how many people bet on this??â
âI dunno, like the whole dance club?â
âEh???â
__________________________________________
Seunghwan canât believe heâs doing this.
âI canât believe heâs finally doing it.â
âHe is?â
âYep.â Three voices say at the exact same time. Seunghwan throws a dirty look at his traitorous group members. Seriously, he needs better friends.
Junhyeon pats him on the shoulder ceremoniously, looking way too solemn for this.
âYou can do it, hyung, I believe in you.â
The younger boys sounds so sincere that Seunghwanâs almost touched.
âDonât fuck it up, hyung.â
Nevermind.Â
Itâs the interim check. Nothing too serious. Just the whole club getting together to check everyone elseâs performances out and give tips. Definitely. And because Junhyeon loudly volunteers them to go first, theyâre going first. Fuck.
Hereâs something Seunghwan learned from letting Junhyeon lead their choreography. Heâs actually pretty fucking good. Theyâre in sync, all their moves are sharp and on beat and he even gives everyone a small part in the centre where they can show off their strengths. Then, they get to the freestyle part.
So hereâs another thing Seunghwan learned from letting Junhyeon lead their choreography. Heâs also pretty fucking good at incorporating the stupidest ideas and getting everyone to agree to them. Case in point, what Seunghwan is about to do now as he puts on the stupid meme shades that Junhyeon had convinced the whole group to wear.
Heâs front and centre, grooving to the beat and looking at where youâre sitting near the front with the other dancers covering Tomboy. Seunghwan takes a deep breath and with his whole chest, yells out your name and then says:
âGO OUT WITH ME!!â
The whole club goes wild, hooting and then cheering when you stare at him with wide eyes before nodding. Seunghwan swears his cheek muscles are going to collapse from how hard heâs smiling. They wrap up the dance without a hitch and immediately his members are descending upon him, yelling their congratulations.
On your part, well you get a grand total of thirty seconds to comprehend what just happened before Woongki announces your group is going next and bodily dragging you with him. You suddenly remember what you had agreed to do for the interim check.
âI mean he confessed already so-â
âYouâre doing it, babe.â Woongki cuts in, leaving no room for protests.
Seunghwan thought he wasnât prepared to confess today. What he really wasnât prepared for was you sauntering over to him during your freestyle section (the infamous la la part), hips swaying as you proceed to drop it low while everyone freaks out, him included.
After that, Seunghwan can no longer say that he wasnât staring at your ass. Woongki and Seo Won make a shit ton of money from the betting pool that had been going. And you? Well the cute boy, who you sometimes catch watching you stretch before practice, did more than just talk to you. And thatâs the story of how Lee Seunghwan eventually became your boyfriend.
some inheritance games + the naturals parallels <3
MAJOR SPOILERS FOR BOTH SERIES (it's mainly about ships)
â grayson & michael were introduced first and in a similar way; they were sent to get avery & cassie and the girls were immediately attracted to them
â dean & jameson were introduced second; they were also the last of the main groups to be introduced to the mcs
â there was a tension around both dean & jameson before the introduction
Michaelâs eyes darkened. Liaâs mouth curved slowly into a smile. âWell,â Sloane said brightly, completely unaware of the changing undercurrent in the room. âThereâs also Dean.â
âIs Jameson here yet?â the dark-haired boy amended his question. Grayson stiffened. âNo.â
â avery & jameson worked as partners more in the same way that cassie & dean did
â both avery & cassie initiated the first kiss with jameson & dean (and they were both the first kisses in the book)
â meanwhile grayson & michael were the one who initiated their kisses
â what jameson & dean said after their first kiss with the girls:
âIt doesnât matter.â He continued punching the bag. âIt was just a game.â Truth or Dare. He was right. It was just a game. So why did I feel like someone had slapped me? (dean)
âIf Emily taught me anything, itâs that everything is a game. Even this. Especially this.â (jameson)
â THE SCAR!!!
His torso was lean, his stomach defined. He had a long, thin scar that ran from collarbone to hip. (jamie)
Dean had a scar, tooâolder, thinner, like someone had drawn the tip of a knife slowly down his torso in a jagged line from the base of his collarbone to his navel.
â calming the mc's panic attacks
Jameson came up beside me. He put his hands on my shoulders. He walked me over to the edge of the roof. The very edge, close enough that Oren called out, but in response, all Jameson did was spread my arms to each side, until his and mine were both held out in a T. âClose your eyes,â he whispered. âBreathe.â I closed my eyes. I breathed. I felt him breathing.
I felt a hand, warm and steady, on the back of my neck. Dean. âYouâre fine,â he said. âItâll pass.â This from the boy whoâd never wanted me to go to the place Iâd just gone. âJust breathe,â he told me, dark eyes making a careful study of mine. I returned the favor, concentrating on his faceâhere, now, this moment, nothing else.
â at the end of book 2, cassie has a near death experience, after which she makes a decision regarding the love triangle and chooses dean who was there for her
â at the end of the hawthorne legacy, avery also has a near death experience, jameson is there for her and she chooses him
â in book 3 of the naturals, michael is bitter that cassie didn't choose him, he's distant and self destructive and cassie worries about him a lot, but they manage to fix it and remain friends
â from what we've seen in tfg, grayson is distant and avery is worried about him (waiting for them to fix their friendship too!)
<3
also a reminder that neither of these books are romance books, so it makes sense that the love triangles resolved in book 2!
the naturals had 3 more books after that and it was just plot and no more love triangle, while tig has only 1 more book so it makes even more sense to end the love triangle and focus on a bunch of other things
23 days until the final gambit, we got this!! so excited

Ⳡnotes; notes @ the bottom, but thank you so much for patiently waiting and i really sincerely apologize for any poor writing or editing!
Kim Sunwoo had never really thought about dying.
Well, he sort of had. Heâd thought about death quite a lot after Eric and Hyunjoon died, but something about it always felt⌠surreal. Finite. He knew denial had some part in the grieving process, but even as he grieved and mourned his two best friends he couldnât bring himself to understand that they were really and truly gone forever. He always felt like there would come a day he would see them again and, funnily enough, that day was today.
Reblog to let your followers know that they should never start cutting.
I know this website makes it seem like that shit is normal but trust me, itâs not. And once you start, youâll never really start and it will haunt you for life.
It never gets easier, it never stops hurting, it isnât (and will never be) âcoolâ or âthe only way outâ
Please donât start. If you already are cutting, tell sometime and get help, itâs not as scary as it seems and you will be better off by it.
If even one person reads this⌠Please. You matter.
to your blog. You see this, you reblog. This is such and important message and as someone who has scars, that I regret alot, too ITâS NOT WORTH IT. 1-877-332-7333
DO NOT START. I am almost 5 years cut free. But like, its in my mind all the time. I want to whenever something goes wrong. Itâs toxic and awful and you really donât want this. Nurses and doctors always judge me when they see. People look at you differently especially as an adult with scars.
Itâs too late for me, but maybe not for someone else. DO NOT START. Itâs stupid and it doesnât help at all. Youâll never feel comfortable wearing short sleeves or shorts again, clothing fabric brushes against and sticks to the cuts, youâll wince in pain and get weird looks, you wonât be able to swim or take off your jacket without the possibility of someone seeing. Itâs fucking awful, just donât start
