Taking a deeper look at CCKs and Views in D6. I think its worth!
going all over again
Yes. Now I'm working D6. And going over again all the initial chapters of Using Drupal.
Actually this is making more sense now! ;-)
RoR!
Since last week, my new interest has been again RoR.
I'm surprised the way resources and all other help/guiding materials have increased for this technology since I have had my last stint with it some time back.
Also got to use Git and cloud based services for instant deployment and testing in production (like) environment!
With this whole thing I'm really excited; but I think I should first finish this journey started with Drupal, atleast should give it some meaningful/logical end.
Ofcourse I won't stop learning D, maybe I should correctly dedicate my time to all these priorities and make Something.
project work in action
All my practice has come to rescue. Actually I'm learning a lot while directly working on my project and its really exciting.
Working on the project from ground up - working on each and every detail - with drupal I'm feeling, result is worth the effort.
Some more things to do for completing the project, shall work tomorrow and finish most of it.
hurray! live project
Yeah I know; since many days I haven't been going through Using Drupal. I won't say I didn't had time but just lost track and was searching for some other inspirations.
I'm happy that I found some live project (atlast/so soon) to work on. Yes, I mean my first project of making a Drupal site and taking it live for a client (actually friend of mine;))
Not much, but I hope to deliver some decent stuff, so that it's remembered for my effort (atleast for sometime, before it gets revamped again ;))
I knew this http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2011/04/12/make-your-content-make-a-difference/ is going to be useful and its time.
need help on views
Views is not going so easy.
I installed the Views module; CTools also which is required by D7.
But Views section as explained in the book, is completely different from what I see locally...or...
Winding up for today. Shall be continuing tomorrow.
not just views
Displays also. A display determines how a view will be presented to the user. A view can have multiple displays.
finished spotlighting CCK
Finally, finished reading and implementing CCK section, now in views.
some more CCK
Have to finish CCK section, not having much time...already missed yesterday!
separate module for node reference
Field types: Node reference, User reference are maintained as separate project for D7's CCK.
Almost done working with CCK for Job Posting Board, heading for Views.
Shall continue tomorrow.
problem with node referencing
When we are creating a new Content Type, we add fields and would want some of them to have node reference; I'm really unable to make out how to do it D7.
Here in Field Settings there is no Node reference instead we have Term reference, which asks for some static vocab related to Taxonomy. Clueless!!
spotlighting is just not yet over
Spotlighting CCK.
Okay, Content Construction Kit is still not by default packaged with D7 modules.
job posting board
Just started off with Job Posting Board...lots to do!
done with the left overs
Completed reading some misc sections, with which (almost) done with second chapter.
Just went out to see the Super Moon.
Started watching http://www.inc.com/inctv/2011/02/live-chat-steve-huffman.html
Okay. Winding up my fist drupal sprint session.
(Oops...just remembered about the Drupal Meetup, which I had to attend yesterday)
Hopefully, I shall have a better ride through Drupal 7 in my next session tomorrow.
spotlighting is over
Spotlighted - Contact Form, Users and Roles, Blog and Themes.
This is what I have now. (yeah, I know, need to change the theme!)

still no clean URLs
Seriously, Enabling clean URLs section's presentation has to be changed in Drupal installation guide
Shall move on with next section...no clean URLs for atleast till there is some serious demand!
clean urls
Working out for clean URLs.
Changing httpd.conf, .htaccess files (struggling!)... but still didn't made it.
I am thinking to give up on clean URLs for now...let's see.
