APRILUS EVENTS I HAVE BEEN TO 🐦⬛
I’ve been wanting to make this post for a while now but I kept getting sidetracked. Anyway…
I spent a good chunk of April celebrating Sylus’s birthday with fellow Sylus girlies for three weekends straight (it’s honestly insane if you think about it). And I want to talk about it because these events were a 10/10, I enjoyed going to all of them immensely.
I most likely won’t be able to go into every little detail of these events, but I’ll try my best (because I like to yap on here)
12th April: Divine Match Sylus fan event by @/incomplete.signal (IG) 🐾
Starting off really strong with the first Sylus event I went to this month because the event was taking place at a CAT CAFE???!!!! All of the cats at the cafe were so freaking cute Sylus would have loved it here. This was a private event and pretty small scaled, which I really like since I was able to just relax and chill while chatting with my friends while we’re basking in the presence of the kitties.
Fun fact: there was a bengal cat who kept fighting with the dragon sylus standee? It’s only that one standee he has issues with (we all refer him as Caleb Kitty).
We also got to play Kitty Cards irl! Me and my friends were playing a few rounds, and we got interrupted by a Devon Rex just casually sitting on top of our cards.
Overall a REALLY fun event. It was a unique experience :D
18th April: Obsidian Heart Sylus Birthday Event by @/obsidianveil_ (IG) 👑
This was probably my most long awaited Sylus event for this year? It was definitely worth the wait, the organisers really knocked it out of the park with this one. I thought the venue was spacious enough to fit all of us inside, they decorated the place so nicely with Sylus themed decorations and uh yeah… I took quite a lot of pics lol.
It’s definitely a lot more fancier event, since you basically get to dress up pretty fancy.
They have four Sylus cosplayers AND LUKE AND KIERAN?! All of the cosplayers did an amazing job entertaining everyone! I was especially very weak in the knees with Archfiend’s cosplayers oh my god she did so good (I actually had to fall down a bit after taking that pic in the middle, that’s how good the fanservice was). Speaking of fanservice, one guest got really lucky because one of the Syluses (they were taking pics on a chair) gave her the chair kabedon treatment with him looming over her?! Lucky her.
Luke and Kieran were adorable, they’re so silly. They sometimes photobombed all of the Syluses while they’re taking their pics and it’s so cute.
I was pretty lucky at this event. First of all, I got a question right during the Sylus quiz segment and I got a ring? And then my number was called during the lucky draw segment and I got THE FAT ROUND SYLUS PLUSHIE WHICH IS ACTUALLY MY MOST WANTED PIECE OF SYLUS MERCH? I’ve hit the image limit so I can’t show him but he is built like a football lowkey. I love him so much.
I’d rate this event a 109/10. Very excited to see what the organisers have in store for their next Sylus event.
26th April: Skye Sdn Bhd by @/mmm_cse (IG) 🍉
And of course, we are ending the month by celebrating Fruit Vendor Skye’s birthday yippie!
One of my friends is the organiser of this event (and our other friends ended up becoming her helpers), and I’m very honoured that I was able to join the event’s artist line up for the merch kit!
This was a really chill event, and because I didn’t have to do or pay for anything since I was one of the event’s artists, I just got my merch kit for free… and I basically just hung out with my friends who were helping out (I ended up also helping out a bit with the registration during the third slot of the event).
For some reason there was a half naked Sylus chilling outside the cafe’s balcony? That was funny.
I don’t really have much to say about this event, but trust me when I say it’s a lot of fun here. This organiser always has the most fun concepts for these lads events.
Bonus: SYLUS BILLBOARDSSSSS
I went to two different billboard events, the first one was on the 18th and me and my friends went to the mall right after the Obsidian Heart event ended, while the second billboard, I went there on the 25th. It was raining that night but around the time the billboard was starting, the rain just stopped? Sylus is truly a miracle worker sometimes.
Funny story about the day we went to the first billboard: Our friend’s car tyre had a puncture and we ended up spending around half an hour maybe at a car service repair shop because they had to replace the whole tyre? Thank god our other friend used to live in the neighbourhood so she knew where to change the car tyre.
And then we spent around an hour just to get to the mall because the traffic was insane. (Can’t remember if it was just an hour or two hours. It just felt long)
So um yeah… that’s about it.
I was very happy this April :) I’m so grateful to be able to experience all of these events with my friends!
