If Boseman didn't deserve the win, then why bother nominating him at all? Nominating someone posthumously shouldn't be done unless they're going to win, otherwise it's just sad and misleading on purpose. If he wasn't best in category, then you're just admitting that they did use him as a marketing strategy.

I watched Ma Rainey’s before any of the Best Pictures (my habit at Oscar time). I was blown away by Boseman’s performance and he was my pick to win. I then watched the other films and Anthony Hopkins was fabulous. It is difficult to compare performances (unless they are all given the same material to perform- which will never happen).

In my opinion Boseman deserved the nomination and would have been the winner if Hopkins wasn’t also nom’d.

I just think death of an actor shouldn’t guarantee an award. Heath Ledger truly didn’t have competition in the category when he won.

AN UNPOPULAR OPINION

Anthony Hopkins deserved his Best Actor statue.

Chadwick Boseman deserved the nomination and I thought he was a shoe in for the win.

Then I watched the other movies...Hopkins gave a phenomenal performance.

All the winners deserved their wins.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League...

The slo-mo is killing me! If half of the slo-mos were at regular speed, the film would still be long but no where near 4 hours!

And the sound track is not good at all.

I still have 2 1/2 hours to go...not sure how I feel about this.
