I get why a lot of people focus on the fact that Vash changed Wolfwood, especially when they do religious readings (of which I don’t agree, but that’s another story for another day), but I think lots of people miss that Vash was changed just as much. Vash literally did the one thing he refused to do, For Wolfwood. Vash, horribly avoidant, wanted to spend his life with him. When he dies in TriMax, Vash is so stricken with grief that part of himself literally dies, too.

Their relationship is one of mutual change and growth, it’s not one sided at *all.*
