Paw patrol movie

Didnt see the kids for 2 of my scheduled days because apey been ill with a throat infection and I have missed them terribly. Its been harder than I ever imagined not being able to give them a cuddle when they're sick.

Picked them up today though and we went to see the new paw patrol movie (better than I expected). Neco sat on my lap and wriggled the entire time. They went to the toilet 3 times each but it was still really nice.

Neco asked me what the red chain in the disabled toilet was... again. I told him it was if anyone falls and hurts themselves they can pull the chain, he looks at me 'like if they slip on waterrr and can't get uppppp?'. Yep exactly, I tell him!

Apey was so loving. Gave me the best cuddles ever. We sat outside 5 guys (after they eat about £4 worth of their £32 meals) and she gave me a massive hug,.pushed me horizontal, climbed on top of me a d said 'you're the best dadda ever and im sorry I couldn't see you when I was sick'.

I actually filled up with tears. Had to take her home after that because she was starting to feel rough again. She seemed legitimately sorry that we had to cut the day together short. Shes matured so much

Foam party

Today was a good day. The kids felt relaxed and weren't fighting over everything, they played nicely, didnt demand too many things and listened well.

We went for an adventure walk in roath pleasure Gardens and then to my house to play. About the time they got a little stir crazy we went to the meadows and stroked the capybaras and went to the foam party.

Ape loved the foam. Neco did too at fist but it got too much for him so he just washed his cars.

Apey made my day with a really sweet cuddle and an 'I love you dad' as we were walking back to her house.

Llanishen reservoir

Stopped by llanishen reservoir for a bit of a walk and to get the kids to see what paddleboarding was. They were interested for all of 10 seconds, they smelled the food cooking in the visitor centre, got starving, went crazy waiting for a fry up, played in the elevator and then hardly touched their fry up. Classic. Ape did like the bacon and the hash brown which was something!

Like father like son

We went to rubbish park today. Kids been dying to go. So surprised they still remember the name. Lain and I called it that years ago, we we.t there once and it was covered in litter so we started calling it rubbish park to deter them from going in. Then we went to 'play in the park' where the kids made boxes. Neco made one to keep his cars in (obvs) and then we stopped in greggs to get some sausage rolls (apes fav).

Trecco bay

A few days down sunny trecco bay. Highlights playing in the waves with the kids, playing 'grounded' (where I pretend to ground them and send them to their room" ), stopping at the service station for a pee and crying because bowie left.

American hot rods at pencoed farm

Today we got to see some super cool American muscle cars at pencoed farm. Neco loved it of course but think apey really enjoyed seeing them too. Then we saw the animals which she really loved (of course).

My feet started to burn in flip flops it was so hot, hearing this neco put his icecold capri sun on my foot to help me. What a little cutie!

Then we hit nannies to play in the pool. We played octopus 🐙 for about an hour (basically me.trying to get them out of their boat by tickling them with my tentacles amd trying to replicate noises from the dad from blue)

Heath park take 2

We had such a good last time we thought we'd do it again. This time not quite so successful. Not only was it about 200c but I got a parking ticket for forgetting to pay for about 20 mins. Neco was really unhappy about it 'I dont like ticket on daddies cat', 'I put ticket out the window' I sensed he was really pissed on my behalf. On the way back in the car he said, in the cutest thing ever 'im tired. daddy, can it sleep for a little bit please' my heart nearly exploded with Nawwwwws.

Well done to ape for getting the courage to do the scary wobbly bridge.

Heath park

Hearing them both say 'i had so much fun today' as we drove away from heath park really was music yo my ears. We went on a fun adventure walk through the woods and found clues, and dodged monsters, could really see their little imaginations going. They loved me picking them up and putting them on the big slide, they couldn't get enough of it. Just wish we had more time to do stuff. Neco got really scared the first time.on the slide and cried for me and ape was scared I was gonna die on the scary rope bridge.

On the way back in the car he said solemnly 'i wish bob was driving so dadda could sit in the back with us'

Good as gold all weekend

Literally not one issue with them all weekend and we had loads at fun in the park amd at the fair. Neco loved looking at the thenold broken down busses/coaches 'poor buses', ape loved winning her and her brother a prize on hook a duck. They both loved the swing chairs, must have gone on about 10 times

Pencoed farm

Was so good to see the kids today. 10 days without them is super hard. We played in the pool at nanny v's and she went to pencoed farm.

So surprised how many burger samples neco ate, the man saw how much he loved them and gave us a bunch of burgers to take home for free. Neco had his first face painting apey loved watching the sheep shearing. We finished the day off with a tractor ride before going back to the pool at nannys. Neco didn't want to go,.we had to carry him.out the pool.

So proud of him with the sun cream. Its usually a big fight to put it on him and this morning was no different but in the afternoon I asked him if he would put it on and he ran, got it and brought it to me. I told him i was really proud of him and he had the cutest/nerdiest smile 'thanks daddy, I love you' he said. Nawwww

Another glorious weekend with the munchkins

Saturday they were hungry when we picked them up so we stopped at the mountain shack for burgers. April got to wash a doggy which she was super happy about. Neco wasn't too happy because he was busting to go to my house and play. We stopped at the new ystrad park on the way home and had a mr blue. Apey got brave on the new big slide, so proud of her, she was nervous at first but persevered.

They we're so good and loving, im super proud of them.

Sunday they were super tired, both fell asleep in the car after pick up, even ape! I love how they want me to get in the back with them. We stopped to pick up some BBQ food from the store and they immediately turn into bargaining experts, dad can have this and this?. No one or the other, ok what if I have this and maybe this? No, thats even more expensive, ok I'll put this back and have these instead. They dont miss a trick.

The BBQ was a bit of a disaster, bob opting to cremate all the food BEFORE even putting it in the BBQ. It was rescued by April's friend Robin inviting apey to play for a bit. They had a blast, hugging and screaming the entire time.

Taco bell!

The little bugs were so cute today and april had a gold star in school so we decided to take them to the toy shop and taco bell. I was so surprised by how excited they were to go to taco bell. They said they went yesterday in the drive through but really wanted to go inside.

I couldn't remember where smyths toy shop so went to the wrong area on newport Rd. April directed me, superbly, out of that area, down newport Rd and into Smyths, like shed done in a 1000 times.

They loved looking at all the toys. We said they could have 1 thing and they were pretty good. Neco had a big truck full of little cars, he asked for a 2nd thing once, I said no and he said ok dad. Apey bargained hard but eventually accept 1 thing.

They wanted to play with their new toys in the car, I said wait 1 min and we'll be in taco bell 'ok dad' neco replied. Angel!. Got to the restaurant, they played with their toys on the table.

Ape lived filling her cup with different drinks. I went back to the table, neco said 'aww I dont want to go yet' I said we have more time 'yayyy'. Then he asked if we 'can go to your house' I solemnly said we cant today but can do Saturday and he was so happy 'can we Saturday dad?!'.

He must have said dad 'i love you'd bout 10 time in the last hr.

Then we threw sticks in the lake for our last 10 mins and had a beautiful cuddle. I love Wednesdays!

My special little guy

He sat on my lap in the park and said 'dad, i miss you but some people miss their daddies' and then he said 'I wish I didnt have to leave you'. Later, when playing tickle train on the roundabout, he said 'I wish I could stay with you'. He is super cute. His sister was a good girl today too, didnt play up and was really sweet. They loved tickle train. Howling laughing 'push the button', 'ohh no who pushed the buttonnnn' 'meeee!'
