I went to NYCC this year with no really expectations, and then Kodansha announced that Harold Sakuishi would be there! Beck is one of my favorite manga of all time and I didn't have a lot of time to think of what I wanted to do, just that I wanted to do something.
I thought about it and a pretty simple design can't to mind. I got the floss, borrowed some black Aida from a friend and got to work. Remember those shirts that went around when Game of Thrones was first coming out? With all the Dire wolves names and the sibling that owned then? I really liked the idea is the members of the band with the addition of Maho, be since she does have a big part of the story. I also wanted to make sure that the name of the band (and manga) was featured. Then the image of the covers can't to me. Every concert has the manga name going vertically down the right side. I couldb use the colors from there first volume to bring everyone back.
Luckily there were multiple signings, so the fact that I only had a ticket for Friday was no big deal. And it was right at the beginning of the day, so it was imperative that I figure out where the lines were. After going around a bit, I found a lady working at the Comixology booth that was like, you got time, no worries.
I was super nervous, but Harold Sakuishi really seemed to like the cross-stitch I made for him! His Editor also thought it looked good and seemed to be impressed.

I made this for a friend. We both love the show Gravity Falls (if you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it). I’ve been working on it on and off for the past 2 years… I’m so glad it’s finished. I hope she likes it.
Also, I won’t be posting a new cross-stitch in the same week again unfortunately. It just worked out that I finished this long term project and the next one on my list was something that only took me about a week.
I am working on a new cross-stitch… hope to wrap it up by the end of the month.

My eyes are so tired! Officially 3/4 the way done with this!
This was commissioned late November. It was delayed due to the holidays and other commissions in line ahead of it. It took a particularly poignant turn as I finished it the weekend after Carrie’s passing. She was an incredible person.
STICK A FORK IN IT. THIS SUCKER IS DONE.
Thank you to everyone who has commented, encouraged, liked, supported me throughout this project. You all are amazing. To those of you who are working on this, see? You’ll get through the Clouds of Doom. ❤
