Scars
Scars tell stories, etched in skin, every mark from without, within, Nick's from others, wounds unseen, gashes from self, a silent screen.
Picked scabs of younger days, festering unkindness, lost in the haze, yet healed they are, under a new, smooth and bumpy, a tale to view.
A roadmap of hurt, leading deep, to the chambers where memory sleep, red and swollen, from lack of care, sensitive to touch, yet stronger there.
Each scar a lesson, forever etched, a journey of growth, lightly sketched, on the canvas of the heart, they in part, hard lessons learned, a testament, a start.
