1 in every 6 cis men (or people who were otherwise categorized as male in statistics) are victims of sexual violence. The likeliness increases if that person is BIPOC, queer, disabled, and/or socially/economically vulnerable.
Roughly 50% of (likely perisex or perisex-passing) trans men are victims of sexual violence. The rate of sexual assault is higher in trans men than in cis women.
Intersex [link] people (and thus, intersex men) are 3x more likely to be sexually or physically assaulted than their other LGBTQ+ peers.
And also, men are statistically less likely to be upfront about their experiences with sexual violence, so the statistics are likely underestimated.
A few resources on the topics (though many many more exist):
1: "The 1 in 6 statistic" [link] 2: "Who are male survivors of sexual assault?" [link] 3: "Sexual violence and the disability community" [link] 4: "Sexual violence and suicide risk among LGBTQ+ young people" [link] 5: "Physical, sexual, and intimate partner violence among transgender and gender-diverse individuals" [link] 6: "Rising violence and harassment against intersex people in EU" [link]
And this doesn't even touch on the extreme rates of sexual violence towards male prisoners and male soldiers.
Can people please be normal about victims of women perpetrators.
Can people please stop fakeclaiming men and boys who have been assaulted by women.
I am so tired.
