Knowledge canāt be taken away from you.
Took me until about halfway through college before I realized āstudyā means āplay with the material in a variety of ways until you understand itā and not just āread the assigned chapters and do the homeworkā and I think that probably should have been discussed at some point prior to that.
If you see this on your dashboard, reblog this, NO MATTER WHAT and all your dreams and wishes will come true.
Oh hey! Havenāt seen this in forever! Didnāt reblog it when it came across me before, not gonna skip it this time, I need some good vibes.
i mean, 2025 is just two days away, so why not
Learning is not slowing down, itās constant change! If you want to be great, you need to keep learning.
I am afraid of getting older. I am afraid of getting married. Spare me from cooking three meals a day--spare me from the relentless cage of routine and rote. I want to be free. I want, I think, to be omniscient.

Ralphās Coffee in BAL Kyoto is one of my favourite places to sit and read.
Today I was reading Love on the Brain by Ali Hazelwood.
I have her next book on pre-order, Not in Love. I canāt wait!
I also nearly completed my reading goal for the year; Iām on book 19 of 20. I started last August, thinking that I was too ambitious for aiming for 20 books, but since Iām so close to the finish line already, Iām going to see how many I can read before this August.
Getting back into reading for fun (not for work or school), has been like coming home after a very long trip. I havenāt read this many books since I was in high school, and Iāve fallen in love with it all over again.

āShe is my wife,ā Cardan says, his voice carrying over the crowd. āThe rightful High Queen of Elfhame. And most definitely not in exile.ā
I canāt get over Cardan announcing that Judeās his wife before stating sheās their Queen. Itās as if being his wife was more important in that moment than her being their Queen.
What does one do at 27 years old, with an MBA but a dislike for capitalism and a love for art and science?
Going the āsafe routeā gave me a safety net, but how do I venture elsewhere? How do I now explore my love for biology, and indigenous artwork? For unexplored areas of space, and black and white photography?
In this economy, when everything is expensive and hustle culture is still very prevalent, how do I do what I enjoy? What makes me happy?

back to my fav cafƩ. i started journaling.
Sheās a 10 but she lives off of academic validation while simultaneously procrastinating like sheās been promised immortality
Once you learn something, make sure you stay up to date.
If all my pictures look the same, it is because my days aren't exciting; which is good. I like calm.
Today, I started reviewing a topic and realized I learned everything wrong and then spent the whole day trying to understand 0s and 1s
I hope you're getting to understand your classes, stranger.
Go slow, but go
one of the biggest things I can advocate for (in academia, but also just in life) is to build credibility with yourself. Itās easy to fall into the habit of thinking of yourself as someone who does things last minute or who struggles to start tasks. people will tell you that you just need to build different habits, but I know for me at least the idea of āhabitā is sort of abstract and dehumanizing. Credibility is more like āIāve done this before, so I know I can do it, and more importantly I trust myself to do itā. you set an assignment goal for the day and you meet it, and then you feel stronger setting one the next day. You establish a relationship with yourself thatās built on confidence and trust. That in turn starts to erode the barrier of insecurity and perfectionism and makes it easier to start and finish tasks. reframing the narrative as a process of building credibility makes it easier to celebrate each step and recognize how strong your relationship with yourself can become
