From Zojoji is possible to see the Tokyo Tower just behind it. For me, it creates an incredible sensation of tradition meeting modern, which is pretty much all about Japan.

You can see pretty much all of Tokyo from the 150-meter height main deck of Tokyo Tower. It is possible to get a sight of Odaiba, the Rainbow Bridge, the Tokyo Sky Tree, the Roppongi Hills building and the Tokyo Metropolitan Governmet Building.
If you are lucky enough, which I was not, you might even see the Mount Fuji in a clear sunny day.

Shijuku Golden Gai
Shinjuku Golden Gai, one of many “yokocho” located in Tokyo
Shinjuku Golden Gai (新宿ゴールデン街) is one of Tokyo's famous "yokocho" (横丁), which are narrow alleys that gather very small bars called "izakaya" (居酒屋). I mean, there are pretty small, 10 counter sits top.
The combination of those lights and the bohemian vibe makes this a picturesque place to see in Tokyo.
It really makes me feel a character from "Midnight Diner", a Netflix must see series that is placed in a "yokocho".

Omoide Yokocho
Omoide Yokocho (思い出横丁) is one of the most famous “yokocho” in Shinjuku (Tokyo). Yokocho is an alley filled of small bars called “izakaya”, very traditional in Japan. I mean, they are pretty small, like 10 counter sits top.
It reminds me of “Midnight Dinner: Tokyo Stories”, an absolutely must see hidden gem on Netflix. The main character is “the Master”, which cooks whatever his clients want, as long as he has the ingredients. But as the series goes on, we get to know a little about some of the clients lives in a very subtle way, connecting them with food.
Vending Machines
When we talk about Japan, one of the things that comes in mind are the vending machines (自動販売機 - jidouhanbaiki). They are literally everywhere. I mean, literally. There are over 5 million vending machines all over Japan.
You can get a variety of things from vending machines, but the marjority sells beverages. And there are so many types of beverages, like soda, juice, Calpis, water, and even canned soup.
Also there are hot beverages. Which means you can get a latte or a lemon tea, just around (any) corner and just about $1.
Yeah, I miss the vending machines, as you can see...

This is one of my favorite photos that I took while travelling Japan
Shinjuku
As I am in a Shinjuku vibe lately, here is one more original photography that I took. Enjoy!
Shinjuku
Well, let’s talk about Shinjuku! First of all, Shinjuku Station is one of the most busy stations all over Japan. A great variety of train and subway lines are connected to it.
Shinjuku District is also very crowded, as it is an important shopping area in Tokyo. It has lots of restaurants and cafes, which are always very busy.

Walking around Tokyo is an experience itself. There are so many things happening, so many lives crossing paths, and yet we can find a place just like that as you turn the “wrong” corner
I actually don’t know where exactly I took this photography. I was walking from Yoyogi Uehara to Yoyogi Park, as it was a beautiful sunny day
This is Tokyo!
Yoyogi Uehara is actually quite calm neighborhood, not so crowded with tourists, a great place to take a walk.
It also has a very picturesque atmosphere, kind of resembles Japanese movies placed in Tokyo, when they show daily life.
You can easily access this neighborhood by taking the Yamanote line (circular train line that goes around the main station in Tokyo).
The reason I was at Yoyogi Uehara is to visit a famous ramen place named Tsuta. But more about that later...
Pagoda and Torii
Five-story pagoda at Sensoji (Asakusa - Tokyo)
Pagodas (パゴダ) are common structures in Buddhist temple (お寺). I think the most famous, besides this one, is the Yasaka Pagoda (Kyoto)
Torii at Meiji Shrine (Harajuku - Tokyo)
Toriis (鳥居) are common in Shinto Shrines (神社) and represent the moment you enter a holy space. The most famous torii, besides this one, is the floating torii of Itsukushima Shrine (Miyajima)

The differences between Buddhist Temples and Shinto Shrines may seen very subtle, especially for a foreign like me. I might say that even for Japanese people, Buddhism and Shintoism don't exactly live separately
