I wanna adopt Powder so fucking badly bro. That baby deserves so much better.
She's like 11 or 12 in Act 1 in Season 1. She's an inventor. Not a fighter. She loves to build things and be helpful to the people she cares about. She had so much confidence with the glitter nail cat bomb that it would've worked. However it failed. Not because she's horrible at it, but it's because she's still learning. Still growing. She's just a kid. Her brain is still growing and developing. It's not her fault taht the bomb didn't work when it was suppose to. She did what she could do. She had limited recourses and supplies.
Keyword: limited. Meaning she tried to find the right materials to make the bomb work.
Another thing. Powder wasn't aware about the hex crystal being unstable. She didn't know that they would cause destruction. Let alone harm. She thought it was just cool looking rocks she discovered while trying to find something to take while her siblings where ransacking Jayces' science room. She dropped the crystals by accident. ACCIDENT. While they where hurrying to leave the scene. She was rushing to put them in her pocket and one fell out, causing it to explode and blow half of the room up. Knocking Jayce and Caitlyn back when theh where behind the door trying to get in to see who was in there.
And then they where caught up by some douchebag that looks like he never gotten the chance to have something worthy in life considering he's planning to rob the four siblings. But thankfully Violet, Mylo and Claggor managed to beat the goons down. But one goon chased after Powder. She tried to use her Meowzer bomb to distract the goon but it failed. She had a last resort; throwing the back into the water.
The amount of shit Mylo gives to Powder is so goddamn annoying. He's acting like that she knew what the crystal would do. Or how she jinxes them everytime she's around. But I guess that makes her and him equal since his caterpillar bushy ass eyebrows and the Sonic the Hedgehog hair special have a competition on who's the most fugly. It's giving... Animal from The Muppets. Not a good look babes. (I fucking hate Mylo.)
Anyways, Powder.. sweetheart. That explosion was not your fault. You where scared. You where nervous. You tried to save your family. It's not your fault that the crystals where so unstable. Yes you should've tested them out but you felt like you had to hurry since you didn't want to be too late. Which is fine..
Violet nor Silco made Jinx.. Mylo did. By bullying her and emotionally abusing her, she had that mindset and self insecurities of "I'll never be good enough. I'll never ne strong enough."
Sure she isn't strong. But she's an inventor. Not a fighter. And she tried her hardest. That's all it matters. A little bit of "You did good." Would've made herself feel more confident within her.
Violet shouldn't had punched Powder. But that was out of blinded rage and being heartbroken. But that punch Vi and what it did to Powder and how aggressive she grabbed her face and them touching foreheads as she harshly said "Because you're a JINX. Do you hear me?! Mylo was right!" And Powders nose was bleeding after she was punched. She was sobbing and completley scared of what Vi just did to her. After being accidently abandoned by Vi. She was begging her to come back and she needed her. Which was heartbreaking to see and hear.
Please know that I do not blame Violet for feeling the way she feels. She lost her brothers and adoptive father. Who wouldn't be upset and be filled with overwhelming emotions? HOWEVER. She shouldn't had punched Powder and call her the name she hated the most. She shouldn't had left her that far away from her. She should've kept a distance where Powder can still SEE Violet.
Powder, I would love to have you as my little sister hun.. you've been through so much that I could just wish I could take those awful memories away.
