CAMILLE HYDE.〳 CIS WOMAN〳 SHE/HER. 」 you haven’t heard about MYKHALA ‘MICKEY’ JACKSON in town yet? let me fill you in! their birthday came and went this year which makes them THIRTY years old. i’m 100% certain that they’re A SCORPIO. when you’re walking in town, you could spot them working as AN EMPLOYEE AT STORYLINED . they live over in BAYSIDE VALLEY. and from what else i’ve gathered, they’ve got a reputation for being known as THE BIBLIOPHILE. this means that they can often be NAIVE AND INSECURE. while remaining EMPATHETIC AND PASSIONATE. whenever they come to mind i always think of WARM NIGHTS BY THE FIRE WITH A BOOK IN ONE HAND & TEA IN THE OTHER, SUMMER NIGHTS AT THE FAIRGROUNDS SURROUNDED BY THE SMELL OF COTTON CANDY & THE VIEW FROM THE TOP OF THE FERRIS WHEEL, LONG OVERDUE KISSES AT THE END OF A PERFECT DATE, ICE SKATING DURING CHRISTMASTIME IN NYC. they also happen to be MUSE A within I WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT THINGS ARE GOING TO BE DIFFERENT FOR US  that’s all the info i’ve got for you as of now! i’m sure we’ll be learning more as time goes on!  

Mykhala grew up the being the type of girl who dreamed big; despite outcomes not being the ones she would wish for when closing her eyes and blowing out birthday candles. Mykhala's mother and father, its not that they were absent , but they hadn't exactly been present either. Her mother and father were constantly absorbed by their failing marriage. Her parents attempted for years to work on their relationship and before they were able to truly heal the cracks, Mykhala was born. Mykhala was perceived as another obstacle between her family instead of the one to bring them together. Mykhala had only been eight when her parents divorced. Whenever it was that Mykhala learned to read: she never stopped. Reading wasn't only fundamental: it was the space for her to get lost in the nuance of storytelling. She enveloped herself in the feeling fairytale endings. She believed that each day, if she held on long enough, the universe would write in for her family to get their happy ending. She only had to wait for that coincidence to happen, the epiphany to occur to change the course of the Jackson's story. If Mykhala's family were written into a novel: there wasn't going to be a story arc where the ending was optimistic. The turning point in many stories involves a sense of retrospection and understanding. Mykhala thought that there was good in most, as long as you were willing to be open minded and caring. Early on it life it became quite a strength as well as a weakness in her character. She was trusting nearly to a fault: just as much to those who filled her bucket compared to those who didn't. Mykhala wanted to see the intentions behind every action as benevolent, even if it never was in the first place. Mykhala could be described in some ways growing up during her teens and twenties as a a girl wearing rose colored glasses. Mykhala waited for that day where her life would change and until it did, she would move her way through with the idea that she simply needed to be kind and patient with everyone. The daily skill of knowing how to read became her hobby and escape, and eventually a career. Mykhala enjoyed the predictability that came with being around books. She knew that she was always learning something, it brought people together in ways that she grew fond of, and she didn't have to pretend to be someone that she wasn't while nose deep between one chapter and the next. Mykhala loves to do anything that allows her to feel like a free spirit, but she also will hold herself back out of fear of embarrassment. Mykahla somewhat grew up feeling that she didn't deserve good herself; hence why her family didn't get through their misunderstandings or get their happy ending. By that thought, she simply lived life in a way that involved seeing others smile, even if she had to sustain emotional or physical damage.

Mykhala moved to town following her parents divorce (age eight), becoming the child of a single mother.

When she isn't reading, she can be found spending time in the park, roller skating, book binding, adding another page to her junk journal, practicing yoga, and belting her favorite broadway tunes.

She can be easily recognized sporting her rotation of tote bags printed with book paraphernalia, caffeinated induced rambling, and a faint scent trail of patchouli n' berries.

Mykhala received the nickname "Mickey" while learning to pronounce her name. Needless to say, it stuck. She chooses to use them interchangeably.

* ˖ ·ﾟ   carter  was  dressed  to  the  nines,  as  per usual.  her  hair  curled  flawlessly,  flowing  down  her  back  in  dark  waves.  her  winged  eyeliner  was  only  a  smidge  uneven  this  time,  so  she  took  that  as  a  win. she's a professional at making others beautiful at the salon, therefore an expert at making herself feel beautiful no matter the occasion. as  she  walked  down  the  streets  of  downtown  bayside,  careful  not  to  bump  into  anyone, she  made  a  beeline  for  the  apple  cider  vendor,  eager  to  get  a  taste  of  her  favorite  holiday  sweet  treat.  she  offered  a  smile  when  she  saw  a  familiar  face  also  waiting  in  line  for  a  drink.  “what’s  your  pick,  apple  cider  or  hot  chocolate  ?“  she  asked,  her  voice  soft  as  she  attempted  to  prompt  the  conversation. mykhala was absolutely living her current holiday novel instead of reading it as she walked through bayside. her smile stretched from ear to ear while her hair gingerly shifted from her shoulders as she walked. she placed her view over to the beverage vendors and decided that it was time that she could use another. once the question was posed and her attention was adequately placed on the other speaking, she twirled a strand of hair around her finger a time or two. she had the look of someone who got caught sneaking into the cookie jar late at night. "this may or may not be my third time in line," she confessed. "but - apple cider this time around. what were you thinking?"

@rescriptedstarters leave it to ivy to come to this event late.. it was only by an hour but.. more fashionably late than anything else since it had been a very last minute plan. she'd passed a few of the activities she'd been eying and thinking about doing. "oh gosh, please tell me i'm not extremely late to this.. did i happen to miss anything.. interesting ? or has it already gotten boring ? i'm hoping not because i could so use a decent evening out."

"guess it depends if you are one for awkward catch up conversations. i'd say at least, you got a pass on that one and can make your way to the fun stuff. when you first heard about the festival, what were you looking forward to most?" a curious mind danced for the other woman's interests. "i wanted to go ice skating myself but i'm waiting for the littles to get their turn in before i get out there." mykhala hands rubbed together in excitement.

          ϟ       she  squints  at  the  gingerbread  man  like  it's  personally  wronged  her.    ❝ listen, ❞    she  whispers  to  it,  adjusting  her  grip  on  the  piping  bag,    ❝ you  and  i  are  gonna  look  adorable  in  our  matching  outfits  whether  you  like  it  or  not. ❞    a  careful  squeeze  before  the  pop  of  an  air  bubble  is  heard;  the  splatter  of  red  icing  rivaling  that  of  a  crime  scene.  avery  gasps,  thankful  her  mess  has  stayed  contained  to  her  work  area.  she  glances  at  the  person  next  to  her,  shoulders  lifting  sheepishly.    ❝ is  it  just  me,  or  are  these  things  fightin'  back? ❞    a  nervous  laugh.  what  if  she  ruins  the  experience?  everyone  knows  she's  not  meant  to  get  it  wrong.    ❝ please  tell  me  you're  havin'  better  luck,  because  negotiatin'  with  royal  icing  is  not  part  of  my  skill  set. ❞

mykhala was navigating her way through her own gingerbread man creation. she was lost in thought, not making her completely attentive to the dialogue from the other. mykhala had never been one who could create without making a mess either, smiling internally as she made glances upon the red icing. a short giggle escaped her lips at the same time she nodded slowly. "Decorating can get pretty gruesome. One Christmas I swear I wore more icing than I had on the cookies." her head titled to the side, moving her view to be at different angles. "similar luck - i'm on my second attempt," she admitted.

@rescriptedstarters alexis turned to the other that wasn't too far from her, glancing around at everyone that was just now starting to arrive at the festival. "you know... i really was debating on coming to this thing at all, really. don't know how i got persuaded to come. and now that i'm here . . . ? i don't even know what i want to do first. i'm torn between the scrapbook making stand or the hot chocolate. then again... how could you really go wrong with hot chocolate, am i right ?"

it didn't take much for mickey to pull her own arm about getting to the festival. her features beamed against the multi-color lights and classic holiday tunes. "soak it all in, lovey. look at what this town did," she sighed deeply with gratitude as her eyes scanned each station within visual range. "i'm gonna be counting gumdrops and candy canes in my sleep, for days" she inserted before finalizing a response to the conundrum at hand. "i say start with the hot chocolate, then scrapbook making. the hot chocolate really kicks off the spirit of the season."
