Welcome to the start of my Kold Adventure!
New technology is fun. It’s different, things are not fully known and there are many uncharted parts worth exploring. Such new technology is the Keurig Kold in my mind. Just launching in late September 2015 in the USA and Sometime in November 2015 in Canada. In the run up to me purchasing one at the start of 2016, I found most information about the system was either PR articles or negative impressions posted by people who have yet to even try the system out. Eventually my long desire for the Kold won out and pushed me over the edge to buy one but if not for that, I most likely would have held off till there was more information out there. Thus I though I would start a blog/tumblr about my experience with the system to help out those who are considering it or those who have one and want information/impressions on different flavors.Â
To get the elephant out of the room early, Why spend so much on a Kold over bottled soda or a SodaStream? Well simply put I love soda, specially craft soda. I don’t purely just drink Coke or Pepsi and that is it. I always try to grab something new to try when I see it. I do actually own a SodaStream and find it over all to be a letdown of a product and a company as a whole. I have a dislike for things made with Splenda/Sucralose due to it’s aftertaste and generally can taste the sweater it self when a product is made with it. The company also constantly takes away any good flavors or tampers with them way too much. I use to enjoy their cane sugar cola and while different I found their cane sugar root beer to be unique. Yet no those are gone, Their recently released pepsi at home I also didn’t find it very good (they tampered with the sugar, again). Back on the subject of Keurig, I own their coffee machine. I’ve had one for a few years and I love that it lets me have different types of coffee at home with out having to brew a pot or waste coffee grounds from them going stale. So this is what so excites me about the Kold as a product. I get that the economics/price of it are crazy but given time and Keurig’s frequent webstore sales, It should eventually come down to a more reasonable price by end of 2016. I personally don’t mind being a guinea pig this time around. =)
