Look I haven't said a word about the oot remake bc I was really hoping it was a rumor, but unfortunately I was wrong.
Look, you just can't remake something that is already perfect the way it is.
The N64 graphics gave it its nostalgic charm and I love that. The 3ds version just ironed out a few kinks and that's all we needed. There is no reason to milk out oot this long. Let it have been the amazing and wonderful masterpiece it was.
Nintendo needs to stop cash banking on old concepts. And if they were going to it should have been the Oracle games or 4 swords or Adventure of Link.
“The LEGO Movie was my favorite movie of 2014, but it strikes me that the main character was male, because I feel like in our current culture, he HAD to be. The whole point of Emmett is that he’s the most boring average person in the world. It’s impossible to imagine a female character playing that role, because according to our pop culture, if she’s female she’s already SOMEthing, because she’s not male. The baseline is male. The average person is male. You can see this all over but it’s weirdly prevalent in children’s entertainment. Why are almost all of the muppets dudes, except for Miss Piggy, who’s a parody of femininity? Why do all of the Despicable Me minions, genderless blobs, have boy names? I love the story (which I read on Wikipedia) that when the director of The Brave Little Toaster cast a woman to play the toaster, one of the guys on the crew was so mad he stormed out of the room. Because he thought the toaster was a man. A TOASTER. The character is a toaster. I try to think about that when writing new characters— is there anything inherently gendered about what this character is doing? Or is it a toaster?”
— Bojack Horseman creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg commenting on how weird gendered defaults in entertainment are, and why we should think twice about them. Excerpted from this longer original post.

i want better written non remake games with blurry graphics and no voice acting for an affordable price on reachable consoles and i am not!! kidding!!!
the concept of after botw/totk and echoes of wisdom, perhaps some of the most intentionally stylised games in the entire zelda library, they immediately followed it up with unreal engine slop... we're never making it out i fear
in light of switch 2 direct and as an advocate for playing windwaker: if you have a low-end laptop/pc and a wired controller you can play ww HD for free, let alone gamecube ww. download dolphin. go to r/roms. save yourself 600 dollars
OCARINA OF TIME ALREADY HAS A REMAKE THAT LOOKS FINE, WHY ARE WE DOING THISSSSSS
Remaking loz1, taol or oox to make them more accessible to a fanbase who’s scared to play them? Nooooo, let’s just make this popular game look like shit 😒
also what the fuck is this excuse me. listen i dont gaf if they switch up their lore from game to game based off of whatever whims they have well and truly i think the lore should be in service of whatever is best for that particular game's story but like are they radically rewriting the story for the remake it should be literally not possible for link to have the mark of the triforce before the doors to the sacred realm are opened and ganondorf makes his wish and the triforce splits because nobody has the triforce at this point in time and also the triforce is whole and stable in there so nobody can be a champion of any particular piece
botw was Divisive and understandably so, right. lots of reasons to dislike it, lots to like it. dislike for the change of direction/focus for the series, liking for the exploration and focus on zelda herself. everyones got their opinions.
but like.
it just Sucks that it feels like the last Proper and Good loz game we had was albw. in 2013. which i guess is apt because of it being a follow up to alttp and its impact (that, while i appreciate, i personally dont enjoy playing much😭)
