the fact that for my msw application i need to get an academic recommendation is insane given that i graduated in 2014 (crying)

man, i was gonna go get my film developed tomorrow but one of our cars is dead in our driveway and the other has a leaky tire

[rootlessly]

sooo those were some of the (very) few photos i took with my digital camera on our recent road trip to north carolina

i will, however, be posting the film photos i took once i get them developed/scanned/etc

this trip, i decided not to bring the big boi camera and shoot film instead, mostly because on our last road trip (along the california coast) i spent so much time taking photos that i feel like i wasn't totally there

i've been loving film photography lately, mostly because i have to be more intentional with my shots and because of the constraint of 36 exposures per roll, i'm not spending so much time looking through the viewfinder

so expect more of that here, i suppose...

Hello! Your photos are always so beautiful and dreamy! I was just looking at visiting the outer banks and Okracoke, and here you are posting it! Is it somewhere you'd recommend for a vacation? (especially one involving a road trip...) <3

I really liked Ocracoke! We (my spouse and I) were only there for 3ish days but it was the highlight of our road trip (we also visited Virginia Beach, Assateague Island, and Ocean City MD). The ferry was cool, too. We took the Hatteras one.

We didn't spend a lot of time in the rest of the Outer Banks area other than Ocracoke so I can't speak much to that but Ocracoke had a really chill small town vibe that I really enjoyed. The beaches are gorgeous, there was surprisingly a lot of good food, and there were a bunch of cool little shops to peruse. We ended up renting a golf cart while we were there and had so much fun bopping around the village in it. The people were super friendly, too.

Wherever you decide to go, I hope it's a lovely trip!
