I'd like to think my recent fixation with her as my beauty muse must have come from my frequent nightly reruns of Passions in the past month. If you were a teen in the early part of the 2000's you are probably familiar with this soap; I used to run home after school only to catch the final fifteen minutes of each episode with the hope that I would see Ethan and Theresa share some valuable screen time PDA. As Theresa Lopez-Fitzgerald Crane Winthrop, (try saying that five times really fast) her hair was always perfectly coiffed, skin naturally tanned and makeup nothing short of impeccable; easy for someone who has such natural beauty!

Foundation
Lindsay never looks as if she has a ton of makeup caked onto her face. Her secret? Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Liquid Makeup, which stays in place all day and doesn't bleed off or smudge. The natural finish of the foundation makes it difficult to tell if you are actually wearing any and is perfect for a day or night look.
Eyes
Ever notice that one of the focal points on Lindsay's face happens to be her eyes? With the right eyeshadow and mascara, you can have wide-eyed gazers too! Opt for a subtle color on eyelids such as a muted brown or shimmery hue. A few of the colors we've seen on Lindsay have been similar to that of Lancome eyeshadow in Pink Zinc, MAC eyeshadow in Retrospeck and Two Faced eyeshadow in Pebbles. For megawatt lashes, swipe on two coats of Benefit's They're Real mascara. I also suggest filling in brows with MAC Prussian eye pencil for a more dramatic brown. Don't forget to apply a black eyeliner to your waterline!
Cheeks
Lindsay always has a bronzed glow on her cheeks that looks completely natural. NARS bronzer in Laguna is the perfect choice when attempting to recreate her makeup look. If you want to dramatize an evening look, layer NARS blush in Orgasm on top of the bronzer.
Lips
To attain a pout a la Lindsay, stick with neutral colors that enhance your natural lip color. NARS lipgloss in Supervixen and Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss in Brown Panama are excellent choices that are close to her actual lipgloss shade. Give me one lady who doesn't love Chanel. Just one. This is the bag that I am perpetually drooling over. Besides the timeless feel of Chanel, this bag is always "in" and goes with literally anything you own. The steep price tag may deter most but remember who we were dealing with here: Santa. If he can deliver a car to those who ask for it, we'll expect one of these badboys nestled under our trees come Christmas morning.
Now I'm usually not one for things around my wrist, but I am loving this Hermes cuff. The simplicity of the cuff and the iconic "H" are enough for me to scoop this up. And guess what? It's the perfect size to fit in my stocking!
Since this is a dream wishlist, I find it appropriate to put one of the most whimsical confections ever concocted by Dior. This vintage gown was from the Fall/Winter 1949-1950 collection and simply put, it is to die for! I just want to have this dress displayed in my wardrobe so I can stare at it all day. Hey...a girl can dream!

So this is going to be an unconventional blog post that I felt compelled to write after weathering out one of the worst, if not thee worst storm in the history of New York City; Hurricane Sandy. I wanted to explain my experience to you because if you did not actually live through it, you have no idea of the devastation it has caused to our area. Now, you may be saying to yourself "Florida has hurricanes all the time, who cares about a hurricane in New York". Yes...Florida does have hurricanes quite often, however New York City is not used to such violent and catastrophic weather conditions like 80mph winds and unimaginable flooding.
For the entire week leading up to the hurricane, newscasters were forecasting brutal weather conditions. Most people did not heed the warnings that were given, party because Hurricane Irene was hyped up last year and did not hit us as hard as predicted. Come Wednesday morning (October 29), the winds had picked up tremendously and the sky had darkened. My grandfather had prepared his home a day earlier with buckets, tape to the creases of the door and blockades around the garage. Neighbors mocked him and scoffed at his efforts, presumably because they felt he was being way too over-dramatic with his preparations.
By 8:00pm, things took a turn for the worse. My entire block became engulfed in water and many of my neighbors were outside trying to brush away the cascading water with brooms but their efforts were thwarted when they could no longer control the pool of water. I then noticed a thick burning scent in the air, only to realize that a transformer was on fire a block down from my street and a house was on fire two blocks in the opposite direction. Yes, you can say that mayhem was ensuing, considering no phone lines were working and people were running through the street-turned-river without any real destination.
About two hours later, the water started to recede. We did not lose power during the storm, however many around us did. The winds were still whipping like crazy and I kept receiving messages on my iPhone to remain indoors until the morning.
The next morning, I woke to fallen trees and tons of debris on the pavement. A quick survey of the neighborhood next to me showed damage of epic proportions that would take weeks to repair. A friend's house is ruined due to flooding and she is now trying to figure out what her next move will be. People in Rockaway and Breezy Point have no where to go, some of them without a house at this very moment due to the incredible fires that were ablaze on numerous amounts of homes last night. It's safe to say that area looks like ground zero...a war zone.
I only have God to thank that my friends and family are okay, however some of them are facing the harsh effects of the storm. Our lives are more important than any material or item that we have and sometimes it takes a hurricane to make you realize all of the blessings in our lives.

I'd be lying if I said to you that September was my least favorite month. You've heard it time and time again; the sun damages your skin and can cause cancer. Applying sunblock takes all of three minutes to do so don't skimp on this important step! Opt for a high SPF like Banana Boat Sport Performance Continuous Spray, $10.49 on Walgreens.com, to steer clear of a bad sunburn.
A super chic pair of shades is a must to protect your eyes. Did you know that you can get melanoma in your eyes? It's a scary fact but you can protect yourself and look great at the same time by wearing a pair. Urban Outfitters Death By Stud Cat-Eye Sunglasses, $16.00 on UrbanOutfitters.com, will protect your peepers and keep you looking fabulous throughout the summer months!
Big floppy hats are all the rage this season and you've got a perfect reason to wear one! It can be difficult to protect your scalp from sunburn so put on a hat to protect your head and tresses! A good read is almost as important as the bathing suit you're wearing. I am so excited to get my hands on the newest summer novel On the Island. It's about a guy and a girl who are stranded on an island and slowly fall in love- a total must read if you were a Lost fan. Out in stores July 10th.

Network, you'd probably know Khloe's entire life story. The loudest of the Kardashian sisters spills on her downward spiral after her father passed away, how she catapulted into fame and her very special "outfit" she wears while cooking for Lamar. Beauty Q&A On Page 110: A good selection of questions were answered via Cosmo's Primping Pros. I especially thought this one was worth noting:
Should I apply eve cream just underneath my eyes or on my upper lids too?: "It depends on the formula, so read the usage directions", says NYC derm Dianne Madfes. In general, fast absorbing gels and lotions (like Garnier's Ultra Lift Eye Cream, $15.00) can go on both areas. The oils and emolients in heavier creams and balms, however, could migrate into your eyes, causing irritation and swelling to use those on the under eye area only."
If you read any article in this issue it should be The Search for the Baseline Killer by Jennifer Bleyer featured on page 191. This article is a must read which chronicles the search for a sadistic serial killer who raped and murdered several women. There was not enough DNA evidence on the women he murdered which slowed the process of bringing him to justice. Bleyer captivates her audience with this astonishing article about how Mark Godeau was able to get away with his crimes for as long as he did to his ultimate arrest and prosecution.
