It’s midnight. I’m laying out in a hammock in the backyard of the house we rented in the Dominican Republic, and it’s beautiful. I’m also not going to talk to my crush for the week, so hopefully that will make me more interesting. It’s what everyone says I need to do. Let’s hope it works!

It's been a long time.

It really has. Years, I think, since I’ve used this place. I’ve just got to voice myself. No idea if I’ll ever use this again. But anyway.

Finally fell for someone again. She’s the first one since I ended my only other relationship, and I’ve told her how I feel. I thought it was a bad idea but her friends said otherwise. I don’t believe them, but I’m also the one who’s invested himself, so I’ll be hypercritical of everything. The thing is that I’m now at her will, having exposed myself, and I don’t like it. I don’t like being the passenger rather than the driver.

But I suppose that’s just how it will be for the moment. Here’s to hoping she feels the same.
