[CQ Scanlation] One Year Anniversary Appreciation Post
So it has been a year since Captainâs Quarters Scanlation is founded by me and @fairluck! A new beginning full of laughter, joy, happiness, hurdles, goals and deadlines. We went through a lot, bonding personally with all the staffs, working on the djs, reviewing each shipper who want to join our community, posting everything, making sure itâs secure, etc. Itâs tiring, it takes lot of time yet itâs still fun and brimming with warmth.
Iâm very proud to be a part of this big family, Iâm proud when I say Iâm a member of CQ Scanlation. Everything that we released is full of love, from the doujinka that made them to the staffs that make time to actually do every steps of scanlation so non-jp fans could read them. A year have passed, so I want to appreciate and do a shout-out to all the people that has helped to make CQ happen and go this far.
(I also want to do a small event/giveaway of sort but I have to see for that.)
First of all, I want to thank @fairluck, whoâs currently missing (? Or no longer into snk maybe ;;; ) for being very supportive and who is also the founder of CQ with me. A big fan of Idea/Rin Seina who I met because of that very doujinka. Is a raw provider and also a typesetter in the group. (If youâre seeing this, weâre still waiting for you to come back xD).
Then @mynameismonn, who is our main translator 80% of the time even though sheâs not officially affiliated with the group (a freelance translator). Met her through Fairluck (indirectly), since I found their Ideaâs doujinshi scanlation at first. From there she started helping me translate my rivaere djs until now. By some turn of event, we found out that weâre actually from the same country (big surprise) hahahaha. We also share fic recs most of the time, is very recommended to ask her for recs because her taste is A+. Weâre always thirsty for more good rivaere fics really. Is a dear friend, and really is a person I can talk to about anything.
The first ever âstaffâ of CQ Scans, @nori-cat (which I still canât mention for some reason). She came volunteering to be a cleaner, that went from 0 to 100 in the course of one month where she cleaned RockânâDollessâ Border15. After that, she kinda became our specialized RnD djs cleaner! Not to say that she didnât clean djs from other doujinka which she did. Is also a dear friend where I could go to talk about bunch of stuffs, especially to gush over our djs collection and gossip about drama. Lots have happened during the course of almost-a-year since I first know her, but you need to know that sheâs a really cool-headed and patient person overall, a person that I could went to when I want to vent or fangirl. She also draws so check her out!
@rivaerelicious, who came volunteering to be a cleaner too. She did an amazing and thorough job in her cleaning, and although I halted the projects I gave to her because of her hectic irl, Iâll certainly wait until everything is sorted out for her. Weâll be waiting for you!
@corporaljaegerssweetass, a die-hard rivaere shipper that have helped me in cleaning one of CQâs project. She also translate djs from Spanish to English, draw lots of rivaere and write fics so you can check her out!
@needsmoretea, Triste, a member who happily give us the raw of the djs that she scan. We always share the pain of buying djs, the pain of that shipping expenses and all the stuffs that went to have a physical book of the doujinshi in hand. She also write at AO3 with the username Triste, though she havenât write for RivaEre⌠yet.
Pokarin, who doesnât have a tumblr that volunteered to be a translator. Has helped in translating an ongoing doujinshi series weâre currently working, and is currently translating more doujinshi!
@xxicedteaâ our daddy. Jk she also helped in translating some of our projects, and help proofread some that she didnât translate! @jazd801â, whom I recently met with her applying to be a new member in CQâs livejournal. Sheâs certainly not ânewâ in the fandom though ahahaha. Is a donator, currently a cleaner too in the team, sheâs super ready to give raws and typeset too! Weâre so glad to have you here.
Last but not least, thank you so much to all of the readers/members of CQ Scans who supported us all this time! Without the love from you guys, we wonât make it this far. Please continue to support us! I love you all from the bottom of my heart <3.
I hope we can survive another year, still going strong and could still make this kind of appreciation post next year xD. (Also since season 3 is upon us too).
Erenâs birthday is soon, and Iâll release a new doujinshi for him just like last year.
