This zebra foal has made recent news due to its unique color mutation. He has been dubbed the Polka-Dot Zebra and was seen on Kenya’s Maasai Mara National Reserve. The zebra was given the name Tira by the first person who had spotted him. Tira owes his unique coloring to his pseudomelanism. Also called abundism, this genetic condition is not complete melanism and leaves him a little bit of his white coloration.
