Now that I have had a week to process lotm and stew in it (and the fic side of things), I am once again astounded by how despite being a relatable and genuinely likeable guy, Klein is also. A freak. Like. My dude. No normal person would adapt half as well to these eldritch horror paranormal setting as he did. Those connections and conclusions he draws so quickly? I don't think I'd be able to do that even if I had all that information.

And all this didn't strike me until the last 2 volumes because the way Klein frames his reactions, they are, ahem, very reasonable. But then you look deeper and realise "oh this guy isn't normal at all"
