im very very slowly writing a fic Can call me whatever I guess? (currently going though a name crisis lol) any pronouns are good pronouns but they/it are preferred
Anyway hello. I started this blog bc I was bored and wanted to write a fic. (This is me making more work for myself while posting chapters smh)
Anyway my fic is basically 'what if Morro didn't dissappear after DOTD but only Lloyd can see him' that's it. That's the fic. I also add many silly moments in there too.
This fic is very very slow at updating bc everything is kicking the motivation out of my brain but we can push through. Hopefully.
I'll put all the chapters here at some point soon. I'm just typing this temporarily on my phone rn and I'll make it more official (better) when I feel like booting up my laptop bc it's way easier on that thing
Here it is since everyone keeps asking and I am dumb and keep forgetting
I just realised something. I'm a centipede Kai truther all day, everyday. And I realised something that I learned a while ago about centipedes. Basically their first body segment (right behind the head) doesn't have proper let's that help them move around. Those legs are called forcipules (or poison claws) these forcipules are very strong and sharp and used to stab prey and inject it's venom.
So hear me out. Centipede Kai who's finger tips turn black and hard and slightly longer and clawed. Only after the second knuckle. He has trouble bending his fingers completely because the last knuckle is covered/hindered by the claws. His claws also get venom in them that is like super poisonous to people.
Either that or his fingers remain normal and human and just his thumbs turn into these poison claws and his thumbs are just curved but can still move on the double joint.
I feel like he wouldn't know about the venom thing until he accidentally kills something or harms someone. That would cause his to clip them at least once then he realized too late that it's very painful to do that and just never did that again. Imagine something similar to declawing a cat. It hindered him too much and never did it again (Nya got him claw caps as a joke after they grow back. The growth took months)

Morro was floating in the room where Wu was sipping his tea and talking about random things with Misako. Apparently he had a dream where she turned into dust. Morro wasn't too sure and honestly didn't really care. It was a dream that he didn't even have so it didn't affect his life in any way and it's not like he particularly cared about dreams that didn't happen.
Suddenly he heard Kai yell in frustration and then heard a banging noise. Morro poked his head through the wall, into the library to see Kai hunched over his desk with his head in his hands. The helmet that he was supposedly studying was missing though. He must have thrown it out of the room.
Kai took a few deep breaths to calm himself when Jay walked into the room holding the helmet. “Everything okay?” He asked Kai, placing the helmet back on the desk where it probably was before.
“I can’t find anything about where this helmet came from. I thought I’d be able to find some answers about those samurai but there’s nothing.” Kai complained, angrily gesturing to the scrolls and books.
Jay put his arm around Kai's shoulder and started to lead him out of the library. “Why don’t you try taking a break for a while. You’re probably tired of looking at words for hours.”
“What are you doing?” Morro heard from behind him. It was someone back in Wu’s room. Morro forgot that he was only half way through a wall. Morro went back through the wall to find Lloyd staring right at him.
“I was making sure your brother wasn’t going to burn this whole place down.” Morro was actually just curious about why Kai was yelling and throwing things but nobody needed to know that.
“Is he okay?” Lloyd asked, concerned.
“Yeah. Blue boy took care of it.” Morro did know their names, he just didn’t like using them. Why use a name when you can give them a fun nickname?
They didn’t get to continue their conversation because the other ninja walked into the room, holding the helmet. The entrance of the ninja made Morro look towards Wu, who was just staring at Lloyd.
“Master Wu, this helmet. I feel like we’ve seen it before. Can you tell us anything?” Kai asks in a tone that’s more gentle than Morro would probably ever hear again.
Wu groans while sitting up in his bed. Kai handed him the helmet. He took it and examined it for a few seconds. “Curious.” is all he said.
Wu then started stuttering some sentence before pretending to pass out again, keeping all the important information to himself. Morro was tempted to tell the ninja that Wu was doing that to avoid telling them stuff. Morro had been watching him and he always ‘fell asleep’ when the ninja were in the room and looking for guidance, but he’d stay up and talk to Misako for hours. Morro wouldn't be surprised if this was some weird way of teaching the ninja a lesson.
“Master?” Kai asked their sleeping master. Wu startled 'awake' and asked if it was lunch. Kai looked saddened that Wu didn’t seem to remember the important conversation that they were having just seconds ago.
“No master, it’s not lunch yet.” Kai says, disappointingly turning away from Wu. Morro glared at Wu. the audacity of that man. Hurting his students the way he was. He knew that he was upsetting them too. How could he not know?
Now Morro didn’t exactly like any of the ninja, but they didn’t deserve to be hurt by the one person that took them in. Technically Wu also hurt him emotionally too. Maybe it was just a Wu thing, to hurt his own students because he either gave too much or too little information.
As if Wu couldn’t make it any worse, he took it as a challenge. “Then why did you wake me.” Morro stared at Wu with his fists clenched tight. He would punch Wu right then and there if he could. His students were lost and looking to him for guidance and he was basically telling them to go away.
Lloyd gently guided everyone out of the room, saying that Wu needed to rest. They all make their way to the room that they put Zane in. He was hooked up to some weird wires. Morro wasn’t sure how that would help with the healing process but maybe technology changed more than he’d thought.
“We have to get Zane back online.” Lloyd said, addressing the other ninja.
“I can take him back to the Sam-X cave and reboot him. I could use some help though.” She said, looking at the others.
“I’m in.” Cole agreed, taking a step closer to Nya. He’d most likely be the one to carry Zane since he was the one with the super strength.
“I’ll go too!” Jay also offered. That just left Kai and Lloyd to find something to do.
“I’ll stay. One of us should keep an eye on Master Wu” Lloyd said, looking back at their ‘sleeping’ master.
“I’ll go to the museum and talk to Dr.Saunders. He’s an expert on all things Ninjago. Maybe he knows what Master Wu is too weak to tell us.” Kai said. Lloyd took the helmet from his hands and put it on Kai’s head.
“Good thinking. Go, and see what you can see.” Lloyd went back into Wu’s room and sat down beside the bed. Morro stayed with Lloyd and figured he should probably see how strong his powers were in his ghostly form.
Morro looked around to try to find something he could try on. He ended up finding a bunch of paper shreds with Wu’s hand writing on it. It would work perfectly. Morro held out his hand towards the paper and tried to use his wind to move it. It moved but just barely. Morro just managed to lift one of the corners.
Morro could feel Lloyd staring at him and didn’t like being watched silently. “So, what’s wrong with Zane?” he asked. Judging by Lloyd’s response, he’d sounded a lot more aggressive than he meant to. That was something Morro would have to work on at some point.
“What does that mean? What, because he’s a robot means something is wrong with him?” Lloyd defended his friend. That was nice and admirable but Morro was focused on something else.
Zane was a robot? That made Morro stop what he was doing and look at Lloyd with an incredulous expression.
Morro didn’t know that technology advanced that much since he’d been dead. Zane acted so human though. “He’s a robot? That explains so much.” He couldn’t believe that Zane was a robot. He’d thought that only humans could inherit elemental powers.
Lloyd had to pause for a minute when Morro was talking about that of all things. It did explain a lot of things for Morro though. Like why Zane was silver, or why he had ‘virtual dice’. Also why everyone was saying that he needed to be repaired and not healed.
“Did you not know that Zane has been a robot this entire time? He doesn’t even have any synthetic skin.” Lloyd chuckled. Morro didn’t like that Lloyd was laughing at him, so he went back to trying to move the paper while he talked.
“Well to me, it’s more believable for there to be some weird new fashion thing than technology being so advanced that it makes a whole person.” Morro defended. He wasn’t going to tell Lloyd that he’d thought that Zane was just a weirdo who painted his skin silver. Morro wouldn’t judge him for it though. He’d done some questionable things because he thought it would look cool too. (Like dying a streak of his hair green). Lloyd didn’t respond to that, he just kept laughing for a few minutes.
When he finally stopped laughing, Morro tried one last time to move the paper but it didn’t work. He’d have to try when he could concentrate more. He turned to Lloyd and just floated a few feet in front of him and asked “Who even created a person out of technology?”
“His name was Dr. Julien. He lived in the birch forest when he built and raised Zane. I don’t know much else about him, but he’s passed now.” Lloyd said. Morro held out his hand in thought. When he had stronger power over his element, he’d usually create a little tornado in his palm to help him think and he still did the gesture even with no powers. It had become second nature to him at this point.
Julien. That name sounded familiar. Someone he knew? When he was alive maybe? No, that can’t be right, most of those people wanted to see him dead. He was pretty sure he’d seen Julien in Lloyd’s memories at some point. He looked pretty old in those memories and Lloyd confirmed he was dead?
Suddenly it clicked in Morro’s mind. “Wait, I knew him. He’s in the departed realm. I would visit him often. He was always building stuff. I’m pretty sure he said his name was something Julien. He would always talk about his son and I just never knew who he was talking about.”
“You knew Zane’s dad in the departed realm?” Lloyd asked “Did you do something evil to him too?”
“No! I would never even think about it.” Morro was slightly offended. Why couldn’t anyone just believe that he’d switched sides?
“I just found his workshop at some point and took a look inside because I hadn’t seen anybody for a long time before that. He was really nice to me so I stuck around him. He even hid me from some of the other people that wanted to get revenge on me for something or other.” Morro reminisced.
“People wanted revenge on you? Does that mean they could hurt you? I thought you were untouchable? Literally.” Lloyd asked. Morro didn’t know why Lloyd was suddenly so curious about the afterlife but he’d answer his questions anyway. He had nothing better to do anyway.
“That’s what I thought too but apparently only dead things can touch other dead things. I could have fought them and won but my wind doesn’t respond in the departed realm so fighting would be harder and less fun.” Morro was mostly joking about the fun part but apparently he sounded more serious than he meant to because Lloyd took what he said seriously.
“You think fighting is fun?” Lloyd asked. Morro decided to go along with it and make up something so absurd that Lloyd won’t believe him.
“The fighting itself isn't fun but when I can use my wind and send people high into the air and put them in a tornado for a few minutes until they nearly puke and then send them hurtling towards the ground and then cushion their fall right before they hit the ground. Now that’s fun. That might just be a me thing though.” He did genuinely do that to somebody once. It was when he was fighting a few people and he found it difficult to focus on the tornado the person was in while fighting the other people so that was something he only did once.
“That actually kind of sounds like fun.” Lloyd admitted. “Why did people want revenge? You didn’t kill anybody, did you?” Lloyd changed the subject. Morro got into a more comfortable position and started floating in slow circles. He was bored and wanted to move. He would have been using his wind to make a mini tornado if he could.
“I personally didn’t but I’m the one who released the Preeminent and I guess they seen that as me being responsible. Most of them lived in Stilt so I’m pretty sure those were all her. I don’t remember killing anyone in Stiix.” He explained. He was pretty sure even the ninja blamed him for the whole preeminent thing when he was just being manipulated the whole time. He didn’t get much of a choice.
“Why did you even follow her? She wanted to destroy Ninjago but you still did what she said.” Lloyd asked. Morro couldn’t fault him for being curious but he didn’t really like talking about how easily he was manipulated by her.
He didn’t want to get into too much detail but he’d give Lloyd a basic explanation of what happened. Talking about his past mistakes always soured his mood, so he didn't want to talk about it for too long. “Well she had all the ghosts in the cursed realm, not just me. She promised me the power I desired and I believed her. She can be very convincing. Maybe manipulative is the right word. Anyway, I realized she wasn’t going to give me what she promised. That’s why I gave Wu the Realm Crystal before she dragged me to my death.”
“Trust me when I say, you do NOT want to be the green ninja.” Lloyd sounded like not even he wanted to be the green ninja, which Morro understood after being in his head for long enough. Lloyd had gone through so much just because destiny said he had to.
“Yeah. After being in your head for so long, it’s no longer a thing I want. Everything bad seems to happen to you and i don’t want that.” Morro joked.
“Wow. Thanks for making me feel special.” Lloyd retorted. It was obvious that he was going along with the joke though
“You know what I meant.” Morro defended himself.
Morro hadn’t noticed Wu was awake, that is until Misako opened the door, holding a cup of tea. She handed it to Wu, who thanked her. “Thank you Misako. Focus Tea might help clear my head.” Then he took a sip.
“Hey Lloyd,” Lloyd looked up at where Morro was floating. “Is my head clear?” Morro couldn’t see his own reflection but his arms and body were clear so surely his head was too.
Lloyd just sighed in disappointment at the bad joke. That seemed to get Misako and Wu’s attention. “Maybe you should have some as well?” Wu offered.
“What?” Lloyd asked. He didn’t seem to be paying too much attention to Wu. His attention was more on Morro who made a stupid joke.
“You seem… distant. Your eyes, not quite focused.” Wu prompted. Morro knew that this was Wu’s weird way of asking what was wrong.
Apparently there was something bothering Lloyd though because he did tell Wu what was on his mind. “Yeah. It’s just that, as a master-in-training, it feels like I should be doing something. But what?”
Lloyd looked hopeful when Wu started to answer. “A true master must always… always…” And then he fell back on his pillow and started snoring again. Lloyd looked down and sighed. He was clearly upset and Wu wasn’t helping at all. Morro could only hope that Misako would comfort him.
Morro’s hopes of that were crushed when she guided Lloyd out of the room, insisting that needed his face when he went to say something.
If looks could kill, Misako would have been dead the second Morro looked at her. He knew she was a horrible mother but did she really care so little for her own son. Not only did she lie to him but she also ignored him while he was clearly hurting.
Morro heard Lloyd’s footsteps retreating from the door. He followed after Lloyd. If his own mother didn't care about him enough to say anything then Morro would.
He stayed silent as he followed Lloyd outside and to the side of the temple. Lloyd climbed up the walls until he reached the very top roof. He sat down on the edge of the roof and just looked out at the clouds passing by.
Morro didn't want to suddenly speak and startle the boy, so he sent as much wind as he could to alert Lloyd to his presence. The wind just barely moved his hair but there was no other wind outside.
Lloyd pushed his hair back into place while Morro sat down beside him. At least it was as close as he could get to sitting when he would just pass through the roof that Lloyd was sitting on.
“You know he’s just pretending to pass out, right?” Morro says after a minute of silence. He doesn’t know if he said that to try to make Lloyd feel better or not but Morro was tired of Wu doing this constantly.
“I know.” Lloyd admitted sadly. “It’s just… I’m a master-in-training and I should be able to figure this stuff out on my own. I know that always relying on Master Wu isn't becoming of a master but I don't know what else to do. I don't know how to be a great master like him.”
Morro didn't interrupt Lloyd’s rant. He knew that he needed to talk about it to someone. Even if Morro wouldn't quite understand what Lloyd was going through, he could still try to help him.
“This whole time, I thought he was training me to be a master for when he… isn't here anymore. But I don't know how. Even now, he's not dead or dying and I still don't know what to do. I feel like I've just forgotten all the lessons he's taught me.” Lloyd sighs and looks down at the ground below.
Morro thinks about his words for a minute, trying to find the right thing to say. He'd never been good with words. He was usually relied on his actions to speak for him, even if those actions were usually violence. Right now Lloyd needed words though and Morro couldn't quite find the right words that would help him.
“When did you start training to be a master?” He asked. Maybe if he got more information, he could help Lloyd better.
“Just a few weeks ago. I haven't learned much yet though. It's not nearly enough for me to actually be a master.” He said, not taking his eyes off the ground.
Morro now kind of realized what was wrong. “Well there's your problem right there.”
Lloyd looked at him confused. “What?”
Morro thought for a second about how to explain his thoughts. “You said that you started this training not long ago. That means you probably haven't had the chance to put it to practice yet. The only way for your mind to turn the teachings into second nature would be experience. Your mind isn't used to thinking that way yet. I'm not quite sure if I said that correctly, but do you understand what I'm trying to say?”
“I think so.” Lloyd said. It sounded more like a question than a statement though.
Morro tried to explain in simpler terms so it was easier to understand. “You know what, I'll give an example instead. It's like with elemental powers. When you first discovered you has them, you weren't perfect right away, You had to train and learn how to properly use them. learning is like one big game of trial and error to see what works. You need to practice before being good at something."
Lloyd didn't say anything to that. He seemed to be thinking about what Morro had said. The silence was making Morro nervous though. Had he said the wrong thing? Surely Lloyd should have said something by now.
“I know of something that would solve all of your problems.” Morro said very seriously. It was honestly too serious for what he was about to say.
Lloyd looked at him curiously. “If you really think about it, You can always solve a problem with murder.” Morro said. He knew that he sounded serious and that was the whole point.
Lloyd’s curious look morphed into an unamused one and it took everything in Morro to not crack a smile. He wanted Lloyd to think he was serious. “Alright. I’ll bite. How would killing someone help me?”
Morro didn’t expect Lloyd to actually go along with the murder thing but he was willing to take it farther if Lloyd wanted to. “If you kill Wu, then you don’t have to worry about being as good as him because you’ll always be better than a dead person.”
Lloyd looked shocked and slightly alarmed that Morro would suggest killing his mentor. “I’m not killing Master Wu! Besides, isn’t he like a father to you or something?”
“No. He took me in but he was never my father. I guess he kind of did act like a dad would but that’s just because I never had a dad to compare him to.”Morro said that way too casually if Lloyd’s pitying reaction was anything to go by. This was why he was never good with emotions.
He didn’t want Lloyd to keep looking at him like that over something he didn’t even remember. “Why don’t we kill Misako then? She dies, Wu grieves, he’s no longer a master therefore you can be the best master in all of ninjago.”
Morro noticed movement below them. He looked down to see Misako looking around. Probably looking for Lloyd but she was too late. If she really wanted to comfort him, she would have come to find him as soon as he left that room.
Lloyd was smiling by now. Apparently Morro’s persistence on the murder was a good thing if it made Lloyd feel better. “I don’t think we can kill my mother.” Lloyd said and that caused Misako to look up at her son in concern. “If we have to choose one then I guess we can kill Master Wu.”
Morro watched as Misako looked confused, then concerned. She didn’t leave though. She just stood there staring. She didn’t call up to Lloyd or even let him know that she was there.
“What if we do both?” Morro proposes. “I’ll kill Misako and you kill Wu. Then everyone is happy.” He smiled like he’d just come up with the best plan in the world.
Lloyd sighed in a dramatic way. Morro was glad that Lloyd was willing to go along with his little joke here. It clearly got him into a better mood which was the whole point of it. “That would be a good idea but I think the others would be upset if we did that.”
Morro honestly kind of forgot about the other ninja. “Shit, you’re right. I don’t want to deal with Kai crying every second. Maybe we should just keep our parents alive to keep everyone else happy.” Morro said, pretending to be annoyed at the outcome.
Lloyd stared at him, surprised. Morro feared he knew what it was about. He called Wu his parent. He also knew that Lloyd was going to say something if he didn’t say something first. “Not a word about that to anyone. I know what I said but I’m not about to get into it either.”
Lloyd was grinning. It was the type of expression that said he wasn’t going to be letting this go anytime soon and would bring it up anytime he felt like it. “My lips are sealed. Unless I happen to slip up and accidentally mention it to the other ninja. It would be an accident and you can’t be mad at me over an accident.”
Morro was going to say something back but they heard the distinct sound of airjitzu. He and Lloyd were sitting on the back of the temple so Morro looked over the peak of the roof to see Kai, Cole and Jay walking towards the temple. He wanted to make sure Lloyd was okay now before he interacted with others. “Fire boy, bluey and the black one are back.” He said, watching as they walked out of his line of sight.
Lloyd took a deep breath and put on a forced smile. He probably didn't want the others to think anything was amiss. “I guess I should go find out how Zane is doing. See if Kai found anything from Dr Saunders.”
Lloyd stood up and was standing right on the edge of the building. If he were to fall, he'd probably be fine if he just used airjitzu to stop his fall.
Morro went to push Lloyd off the roof. Only problem with that was he couldn't physically touch Lloyd anyway and every time he did touch Lloyd, he seemed to possess him. He kept forgetting that little detail.
Morro accidentally possessed Lloyd again. He didn't mean to but now he had to stick with the possession because Lloyd was barely responsive now. It was better than the first time but still inconvenient. Morro didn't like being physical. Being able to feel things wasn't enjoyable after so long of feeling nothing.
Morro jumped off the roof and used his wind to cushion his fall. He could hear the ninja inside, looking for Lloyd. Well, Cole and Jay were. He couldn't hear Kai’s voice calling for Lloyd, which was strange. Kai was usually the one that was always most worried about the kid.
Morro goes through the front door and finds Kai sitting off to the side, staring at the snake samurai helmet. Kai didn't even look up at him or anything. He would question Kai on it but it wasn't his business and he didn't care about the red ninja enough to ask.
“Lloyd?” Cole asks as he comes into the room. His eyes brighten a bit when he sees Morro. “There you are. We thought you went missing.” Cole went to put his arm around him and Morro just ducked under his arm and backed up so Cole couldn't touch him. Cole looked at him, confused. Morro just scowled at him, disgusted at even the thought of being touched.
“Lloyd? You okay?” Cole asked. Apparently Lloyd didn't ever deny their physical affection. Cole also still thought that he was Lloyd. “Not Lloyd.” Morro stated as if it should have been obvious.
That seemed to catch Kai’s attention and snap him out of his daze. He got up from where he was sitting and took a few steps towards Morro. “Give Lloyd back.” He seethed.
Morro was unimpressed with his attitude. He'd already proven that he didn't plan to hurt any of them. He did try to push Lloyd off a roof q few minutes ago but that's besides the point.
“Would if I could. Sadly Lloyd isn't very responsive right now so he wouldn't even be a good conversation.” Lloyd apparently thought he was perfectly fine because he tried to tell Morro that he could easily hold a conversation with the others.
Morro turns away from Kai to talk to Lloyd for a minute. “Tell me which of your friends are here then.” Morro challenged.
Lloyd was silent for a few seconds before responding. ‘Kai and… Cole?’ He answered.
“And…?” Morro prompted.
Lloyd didn't respond to that. Morro didn't think he even knew which three of the ninja returned.
Morro sighed. “Okay. You're still not in the best shape right now so what were going to do is, I'll stay in control until you feel better and can tell me the third person that's here. Deal?”
Lloyd took a few seconds to answer, Morro thought that he was going to argue with him about it. ‘Fine. But only because I feel like you’re not going to let me either way.’
It had been an hour and Lloyd still couldn't name the three that were at the temple with them. Morro had just been sitting on Lloyd’s bed, reading a book. Well, trying to read a book. Lloyd kept talking and trying to convince Morro that he was perfectly fine now.
He was starting to get annoyed at Lloyd constantly interrupting his reading.
Morro finally had enough of Lloyd's pestering and slammed the book shut. He could feel Lloyd’s curiosity as he stood up and left the room. Morro walked down to where he knew the freezer was. He grabbed a handful of ice cubes and unpossessed Lloyd.
Lloyd dropped the ice he'd been holding. “You weren't supposed to drop them!” Morro scolded, annoyed.
“I know what you're doing and I told you earlier, I'm fine.” Lloyd sounded mad. Morro didn't know why Lloyd was suddenly mad at him. He was trying to help but apparently his help wasn't wanted.
Morro just sighed in frustration and left to go find whatever the others were doing. He didn't want to talk to Lloyd if he was just going to be mad at him for trying to help.
He found the other ninja in the Wu’s room. Kai was sitting by the window, looking out into the distance. He looked like he had a lot on his mind. Morro wondered what Saunders possibly could have told him that made him so quiet.
Jay and Cole were talking with Wu. They were updating him on Zane’s condition. It didn't sound good. He'd apparently woken up just to spout some random numbers then went back offline
Lloyd walked through the doors and barely even looked at Morro. He just greeted the others and asked Kai to tell them what he'd found out at the museum. Apparently Jay and Cole already knew. Kai didn't answer immediately after Lloyd was done talking so Jay told him. He actually yelled it. Right in Lloyd's face.
"Dr.Saunders is actually Krux. He's been alive all this time and now he's got a snake army and is kidnapping all the builders in Ninjago!" Jay yelled in Lloyd's face. Lloyd looked like he didn't quite catch what Jay said, it was probably because he screamed it in his face.
Lloyd put his hands on Jay's shoulder. "Okay wait." He paused to process what Jay said. "So, Saunders, the guy that knows everything at the museum, is actually Krux, who's been here the entire time and never went through the time vortex?"
Kai was the one who answered Lloyd this time. "Yeah. When I went to ask about the samurai helmet, they attacked me and then Nya and I had to fight them. They got away but we discovered that they have been creating this huge army of snakes for years. Krux has been planning this the whole time."
Something Kai said must have caught Wu's attention because he sat up slightly so he could actually see the ninja and not just the ceiling. "That's impossible. I watched both of them go into the portal to follow the time blades."
Morro never trusted that weird museum worker. He never even seen the guy but 'Saunders' seemed like a very deceiving name. What kind of name was Saunders anyway? Sounded like they combined three different names.
"Krux confirmed it himself. He'd been disguised as Dr.Saunders for years." Kai confirmed.
"What was that thing you said about the snakes kidnapping people?" Lloyd asked Jay. Morro almost forgot that Jay mentioned that when he was yelling.
"Oh yeah. When me and Cole were going to help Kai at the museum, we seen the samurai snake guys taking innocent people. They were all holding swords and threatening the people. The samurai were the ones holding the swords by the way. not the civilians, They wouldn't be kidnapped if they were holding swords. especially if the samurai didn't have swords but if everyone had swords, we'd get to watch a sword fight between untrained civilians and snake samurai and I think that would be pretty cool but we'd have to intervene." Jay probably would have kept going on his tangent if Cole didn't put his hand on Jay's shoulder to stop his rambling.
Morro didn't know that Jay could get so distracted by something so simple. Morro had always been able to tell people things without having to go on a million tangents. He used to as a kid but grew out of it when everyone would get annoyed at him for it.
Cole continued where Jay left off before getting distracted with sword fights. "We had Nya drop us off where we seen them getting kidnapped and we fought the samurai but they still got away. They took the citizens into the sewers, so I'm thinking they have a base underground somewhere. All the civilians seemed to be builders or construction workers. We're assuming they're building something big if they need that many people."
"That is strange. I don't know what they could possibly be building. If Krux really has been here all this time, he'd had time to plan and it can't be anything good." Wu said. That made Morro give him a skeptical look. He knew that only Lloyd could see it but he didn't care.
'Why is Morro giving Wu that weird look, like he doesn't believe what Wu is saying?' That's probably what Lloyd was thinking in that moment. And Morro had his own reasons for not believing Wu. It was mostly beaus Wu never told them the whole story even when he had the option to, he never did.
Everyone was quiet after that, lost int heir own thoughts. Lloyd decided to break that silence. "It's getting dark and you all had a rough day, so I think we should all rest and come up with a plan tomorrow." He didn't wait for anyone to answer before turning and leaving.
Morro hated it when they would sleep. He didn't need sleep so he had nothing to do for hours on end. Maybe he'd explore the land below them or he could meditate and try to connect with his element more in his ghostly form. He wanted his full power back but that would take a very long time and a lot of training on his part. Luckily he was dead and had nothing but time.
Been watching the Lego livestream on yt on a lot of my free time just as background noise and I was watching the part with Morro and paying attention to it very closely(bc of course I was) and he said something about how betraying Wu was his greatest regret and my immediate thought was "how can I overanalyze this a bit."
So, I'm think that betraying Wu was his greatest regret bc when he left Wu and he was still alive, he possibly didn't care about him. In s5, we see Wu rescue Morro a bunch of times before stopping I guess(???). And then he died and maybe Morro thought that Wu was letting him die by not rescuing him (might have to write a little one shot for this now) but like, if Morro thinks that Wu doesn't care about him by letting him die in the caves. Then at the end of s15, he realizes that Wu did care for him and Morro was the one being the asshole in the situation and that's why he gave Wu the realm crystal.
Ever since then he's had a real tough time redeeming himself and then while he's the protector of the dead. He does this to make sure nobody he knows (the ninja and Wu) passes through the spectral lands and he doesn't move on because he feels like he doesn't deserve it. I noticed that when Morro was talking with Arin, a lot of what he was saying was mostly "I must protect others", "[insert soul sucker info here]" or "I have regrets."
Maybe. Just maybe, he's trying to make up for all the lives he ruined when he released the preeminent. S5 wasn't really his fault bc he was manipulated into doing all that but he still blames himself for everything.
He also probably feels guilty about trying to protect some people bc I imagine some ppl from Stiix or cloud kingdom have died and needed to be guided by him to the well but they refuse to follow him bc of what he did and then that soul ends up getting eaten and he feels like he needs to redeem himself from those people too
I swear. I need to write like 2 more paragraphs to finish the next chapter of the fic but like, my motivation has been so low.
It's not that I'm not motivated to write. I really really do but I just can't seem to figure out how to transition time skip parts without making it sound the exact same every time. I also just wanna write the bits that I wanna write but I gotta get there first.
Also also. I may or may not be planning to write a Kai centric fic as well. Because of course I'll start a new fic before continuing the other one. What kind of person would I be if I didn't.
Okay I've finally finished it. I planned out a fic for monstrosity. I just wanna read it tbh so if anyone wants to write it, lmk pls
Lloyd somehow figures out that they need to travel to the realm of monsters to find something that will eventually help them and their bigger goal. Everyone else is like “What’s in that realm?” “Where is that?” “That doesn’t sound so bad.” and everyone is talking about it except Kai, who just stays quiet the whole time. Maybe they need to find a guardian dragon for something. They figure this out because there's a scroll or something that tells them they need a guardian dragon for the next step in their plan. Kai knows that the guardian dragon is Daidan and he's kind of happy for a chance to see an old friend again
Everyone is wondering how to even get to this realm of monsters and expressing how they don’t know how to get there but then the source dragon is like “One of you knows and will guide you.” and everyone looks at Kai, who hasn’t said a word since the realm of monsters was mentioned. Kai still doesn’t admit to knowing, he just tells them to start packing.
When everyone is done packing, Kai tells them all that they all packed too much. Kai just has his Monstrosity sword and a small pack with food and water in it. He’s also got a compass and that’s it. Everyone else packed way too much of everything and wondered why Kai packed barely anything.
While they’re on their way to the realm, Kai gives them a pep talk like “You listen to me while we’re there okay. If I tell you to stop moving, you become still as a statue. If I tell you to hide, you make yourself scarce. Because if you don’t listen, it could put all our lives at stake.” Cole tries to lighten the mood by making a joke of “I’m sure we can take on whatever monsters are out there.” and Kai glares at him and completely shuts down his joke and mentions the giant monster that nearly killed him that Daidan was fighting in the beginning of monstrosity. Cole understands how serious Kai is about this realm. He also gets very concerned.
Kai parks the Bounty at the edge of the realm because he knows it’ll draw too much attention and the others wonder why they’re going down instead of forward and they find Kai landing the bounty. They ask why he did that and Kai tells them that it would draw too much unwanted attention. They argue that it would be easier for everyone if they just took the bounty and flew over all the monsters and a few refuse to leave the ship and Kai really really doesn’t want to take the bounty bc he knows it'll get destroyed but he’d rather stay with his family even if they’re making bad decisions.
Kai was right because the bounty does attract unwanted attention and they all have to jump off in order to save themselves. Before that though, Kai doesn’t leave the deck. He has to see everything going on at all times or he doen’t feel safe. Plus anything could attack them at any time and he doesn’t want to risk something suddenly attacking.
The way the bounty gets destroyed is that giant monster but it’s the thing’s baby. The one Daidan was trying to kill in the beginning. But it’s huge now but not as big as it’s parent. It’s still quite small but still big enough to take out the bounty while in the air. They all end up having to jump off the ship to save themselves and when they’re safe, Kai glares at them all in a “I fucking told you” kind of way. And nobody but Kai was prepared for that so nobody has anything but their weapons, except for Kai who has his little bag of food and water.
Kai is annoyed that nobody listened to him and is like “So are you going to start listening to me? The one who knows the most about this land?” and everyone kinda looks ashamed for not listening in the first place.
They wander around for a few hours and encounter a few different monsters and Kai has to carefully instruct them on what to do and has to remember how to handle each monster.
Eventually they find a cave with a shrine outside it and Kai knows exactly where he is. It's the Cave of Change. Everyone goes inside and expects something to come out and attack them but Kai insists that it’s safe. They don’t trust Kai on that one and remind him that he was the one that told them not to let their guard down ever. Kai just knows that there’s nobody or anything in the cave because it’s technically his cave.
Kai can’t explain why but he gets an odd feeling telling him to go check on all the eggs. He does and the smell alone almost makes him turn back and close off that part of the cave. He needs to see the eggs though so he goes further in. The ninja follow him because they don’t know what else to do even though the smell is terrible. Turns out all the eggs are rotten and there's just a bunch of segments of a centipede that are just dead and rotting.
Kai becomes sad at discovering the eggs are all dead but he doesn’t really know why. He’s not fully a centipede creature and they weren’t his eggs so he doesn’t know why he’s sad. Nya comes up to him and comments on how horrible the smell is and Kai is just like “Well if it’s so bad then why don’t you just leave.” and nobody, not even Kai knows where the sudden aggression came from. Kai immediately regrets it and apologizes, explaining that he didn’t know why he was feeling that way.
Kai tells the others that they could go back to the main room and wait for him and that he just needs a minute so they leave him for a bit. He sheds a few silent tears because the eggs are all dead. He then goes deeper into the cave and finds the cavern where he originally found Rusty and he just sits there for a bit, thinking.
When he goes back to the main room, he finds everyone examining the burnt carapace of the previous FM and the others are all amazed at its size and the fact that there's nothing but ashes inside it. They all ask Kai questions about it like “I can’t believe you defeated this thing.” or “This is massive. Good job on defeating it.” and Kai just looks away, saddened all over again “I didn't." and that’s all he tells them on the subject.
Kai eventually starts a small fire and tells everyone to sleep while he keeps watch. They listen and then Zane wakes up and finds Kai staring out the entrance of the cave, with his antenna out so he could better sense things around him. Kai doesn’t bother hiding them, forgetting they even exist. He usually hides them in his hair because he doesn't want his family to know he's become a monster.
Kai is just staring at the shrine for the previous FM and Zane asks about it and Kai tells him about it. Zane then asks about the antenna and Kai reaches up to touch them before kind of explaining why he’s a buggy boy now “Remember when I said this was kind of my cave now?”
Zane doesn't really respond other than acknowledging the fact that his brother is a centipede now and then offers to take over watching. Kai tries to decline but Zane reasons that he's a robot and doesn't actually need sleep and that he'll wake Kai up if anything moves outside. Kai agrees to that and goes to sleep with the others. He doesn't cover his antenna and nobody mentions it in the morning. Cole just thinks it's some weird bits of his hair.
Kai burns all the eggs and centipede parts before they leave
The next day they come up to a place that’s surrounded by stone lanterns and Kai insists they go around it but the others argue that going through would be faster. Kai has to take a deep breath “Fine. But you follow me and get out of sight when I tell you to.” They then follow a path of lanterns until they start lighting up and Kai tells everyone to hide. Nobody questions it until the monster comes out of seemingly nowhere.
This happens a few times until there isn't a place for them to hide and so they all kind of start running away except Kai who stands between the ninja and the creature. Kai is doing a threat display and also holding his sword which is flaming. This is the part where everyone discovered all the bug features he has. Two sets of teeth mandible things come out of his mouth (2 sets of Maxillae). Poison claws also pop out from his jaw(When they’re hidden, they kinda just tuck into his face and follow the curve of his jaw). He’s also got 24 centipede legs going down his sides(12 on each side. There’s one on each rib and go down his body directly on the side, under his arms). Those have ripped through his clothes and are splayed out to make him look bigger.
Kai ends up having to fight the thing and has to paralyze it with his poison in order to Kill the monster and burn it's body to make sure it never comes back
He forgets to hide his centipede bits before he looks back at the others to make sure they’re okay. The only people who has seen him is Lloyd and Nya. He would hide the little legs under his clothes again because that's how he's more comfortable but it would take too much time and be too much of a hassle to have to take off his shirt and everything just to hide them from people he planned on telling anyway.
Cole ends up internally freaking out and staring at Kai like he's crazy and Kai feels like Cole doesn't like him anymore. Zane doesn't have much reaction other than a nod in acknowledgment. He's got a lot of questions but understands that Kai might be overwhelmed in the moment so he doesn't voice his questions.
Cole on the other hand, voices all his questions and Kai just says he'll tell them everything once they're somewhere safe. Kai ends up tucking his maxillae into his cheeks because he can’t talk properly with them sticking out of his mouth. He also tucks his poison claws back into his face but those leave a seam on his face unless he fiddles with them in the mirror for ten minutes. He doesn’t bother hiding the rest because everyone already seen him so there’s no point in hiding it
Cole just stays quiet until they do get somewhere safe and then Kai explains. “Well do you remember that cave? With the other giant centipede creature? Yeah. After the merge, I had to fight it and then got trapped inside one of those eggs. I busted out before it could complete whatever process it was doing but I guess there were still some lasting effects.” He splayed out his little legs to show them. “But yeah. That's why I was saying that that cave was mine now. I guess I inherited the centipede creature title from that previous fire master.”
That opened up so many more questions from everyone because not even Lloyd or Nya knew about that part of it.
The entire time, Kai doesn't even look at Cole because he seemed so shocked when Kai killed that monster. Kai ends up convincing himself that Cole was scared of him. Cole isn't scared of him. That's just Kai’s anxiety talking.
Cole ends up having to tell Kai that they love him no matter what he looks like. As long as he still acts like their brother then he's happy. He also mentions how none of them are fully human so Kai has nothing to worry about. (Cole is still slightly a ghost, Nya is still part ocean, Lloyd is Dragoni and Zane is a robot)
Kai still tries to hide his buggy bits and behaviours and they all notice and tell him he doesn’t have to hide it from them but Kai tells them that it’s a him thing and it would be accepting that the realm kind of claimed him by making him a monster physically.
After that, the others also notice small differences in Kai and his behavior and stances. He holds his arms a bit away from his body, like more than any other person. He also holds his head up whenever he hears anything, his antenna twitching, trying to sense something. They also knew that Kai made repetitive noises when he would focus or was worried about something. Just because he can’t stand silence (Which is why he liked being with Cole so much. He’s always playing music). Anyway, Kai starts making a clicking noise with his mouth to fill the silence or when he’s just thinking. He mostly does it when he’s thinking or trying to remember something. When it’s too quiet, he'll just make clicking noises repeatedly. Half the time he doesn’t realize other people can even hear him until someone gets annoyed and tells him to stop. He doesn’t make noise when he thinks they might be in danger though unless they’re in the middle of a battle. He does make everyone be quiet and closes his eyes so his antenna can feel if there's anything strange around them. He just makes everyone stand still and stay quiet. He sadly can't get mad at them for breathing.
After another day of walking, they come across this monster that can’t see but navigates through sound and a bit of echolocation when there is no sound around it. It’s a fuzzy beast that's about bison sized and its body is also bison shaped. But its head is devoid of any fur and is shaped like a bear shape. Its head is made of bone and it looks like it used to have 6 eyes at one point but the bone bits grew over them. It has a bunch of holes in double lines following the middle of it’s head. Those holes are all so it can hear. There’s nothing to really catch the sound so when it uses its echolocation , it clacks its jaw together to make a noise and then puts its head down in the direction it wants to hear.
Kai’s seen this before but not the echolocation thing before so he just tells the others that they need to be absolutely silent when passing this creature. While passing the thing, it starts tilting its head in their direction and Nya gets the bright idea to throw a rock away from them so it goes in the direction of the rock. It tilts it’s head in the direction of the rock but doesn’t follow it. It clacks it’s teeth together, making a deep, hollow sound. It tilts it’s head in the direction of the rock but doesn’t move from where it is. Then it starts clacking it’s teeth and very slowly making it’s way towards the ninja. Kai doesn’t know what to do at this point. Lloyd is grabbing at his arm, looking to him for guidance. Kai doesn’t know what to do though because if they move then that thing will hear them and attack. Zane ends up throwing up a thick ice wall between them. It makes noise but it buys them time to run. The thing shatters the ice on the second impact but quickly gets disoriented when small ice chunks get into its ear holes. They lose it pretty quickly after that and continue.
When they eventually find Daidan, she’s in a cave and Kai tells everyone to stop for a minute and he goes to the entrance of the cave and calls into it to make sure it’s safe. It’s dark so kai can’t really see what would be approaching and pulls out his flaming sword when he hears something approaching. Turns out Daidan didn’t really recognize him when he doesn’t look like shit and was about to attack until she seen the sword and realized it’s a friend. Kai was the first to realize that Daidan didn't recognize him and just does the “wait wait wait.” That he did in Monstrosity and that gets Daidan to recognize him.
“Ninja, I didn’t think I’d see you again.”
“I didn’t expect to ever come back.”
“What brings you here then?”
“Me and my brothers are here to protect you. There are people after the guardian dragon so we came to protect you.”
“Brothers?”
This is where Kai has to introduce Daidan to the others
Daidan starts heading inside the cave and the 5 start to follow but Daidan tells the other 4 to stay out of her cave and that only Kai can follow her. Kai wonders why so she explains that she is no longer the guardian dragon. Kai asks her to elaborate but she just says something like “You’ll see” and leads Kai further into the cave.
They come to a cavern that’s barely big enough to fit Daidan and it looks like she turned it into a nest. Turns out she had another child. Idk what it’s name would be but yeah.
The title of Guardian Dragon got passed down to her kid. That’s also why she didn’t want the others, who she doesn’t know, coming in her cave.
Kai ends up having to practically cuddle the baby because it’s attracted to his heat and warmth. All while explaining that they need the Guardian Dragon for something . He then looks around and notices how small the cave is and there’s no other exits and then he gets an idea. He knows of a safer cave where there are plenty of other exits. Daidan notices him looking around with a pensive face.
“Is something wrong ninja?”
Kai thinks of if he should offer or not but decides it wouldn’t hurt to try.
“Have you heard of the Cave of Change?”
“No.” Daidan says with finality. “That place is home to a horrible monster and i do not wish to run into that again.”
Kai then has to explain that that monster is dead and he’s the creature now and that the cave is safe.
They decide to journey back to the Cave of Change. Daidan is on very high alert the entire time and Kai is also very protective over the baby dragon.
Before Daidan and the baby come out of their cave, Kai leaves and explains the plan to everyone and explains that nobody is allowed to touch the baby under any circumstance. Like even Kai can't touch the baby unless it initiates the touch. Daidan is very protective over her baby after what happened to her last one. She's also feeling more protective since they have to leave the safety of her den.
The ninja all agree and Kai calls into the cave for Daidan to come out and they can start their journey.
Their travels go mostly good. They have to defend the baby from a few monsters (obviously) but it's not too bad. Nothing they can't handle. It's when they get to the cave is the problem.
They're about to enter the cave when Kai stops them. He senses something in there that isn't supposed to be there. Apparently the smell of the rotting eggs was keeping the other monsters away and now that Kai burned the eggs, other monsters decided to take over the cave.
There's an invasive species of bird that is like a combination between a mosquito, a humming bird and a remora. It looks like a hummingbird but has the little suction on its head like a remora. It's also got wings and a long thin beak that's serated. It auctions onto walls and roofs and stuff to sleep and rest or wait for prey. It eats meat. Like living things. That's where the mosquito thing comes in. They inject their victims with a poison that just numbs the area (like a mosquito does) and then uses the aerated beak to knaw off bits of flesh and meat to eat.
There's a lot that took over the cave and Kai tells Daidan to stay outside the cave with the baby dragon while him and the ninja deal with the little monsters.
The ninja go in and try to fight them off and eventually win but Kai does most of the work because fire. Cole helps to make sure none of them are sticking to any of the cave walls. Kai asks him to do this because he had to get out of a cave they'd invaded before and they were sticking all over the rocks
Kai tells Daidan that it's now safe for them to enter the cave and they do. Kai asks Daidan if she likes the cave and she does but is acting nervous about there being more than one entrance so Kai takes Cole to close them all because Kai knows where they all are.
They come back to find Lloyd playing with the baby dragon and Daidan looking at Lloyd like he's also her child and she wants to protect him (he told her about being part dragon).
Lloyd explains to Daidan that the source dragon tasked them with getting something from the guardian dragon but only told Lloyd what it was. Turns out, they need a whole horn from a guardian dragon. Daidan immediately pulls her baby away from Lloyd and gets between them. Kai starts to panic and gets between the two and asks what happened.
Daidan is ready to blast Lloyd into oblivion and Lloyd is just confused as Daidan tells Kai what Lloyd told her. Lloyd explains that he planned to just wait until the baby shed a horn or something like most dragons do and Daidan has to explain that that's not how guardian dragons work and they don't she's their horns.
Lloyd realizes his mistake and apologizes. Daidan still kind of keeps him in the corner of her eye and keeps her baby away from him. The baby wants to go see Lloyd to play but she just picks it up and gives it to Kai.
While they sleep that night, Lloyd stays up for watch and questions why the source dragon would want him to harm a baby dragon. Kai ends up waking up and asking him why he seems so zoned out. He tells Kai that the source dragon told him it was for some conduit thing he needed. Kai tells him that if his gain is supposed to come at the loss of others, then it's probably not worth it. Lloyd agrees, he just didn't want to anger a source dragon.
Idk if I wanna add a final battle or something or change the plot to be something more along the lines of “Ras is after the guardian dragon for reasons and then he attacks them while they're in the cave of change and that's the final battle” idk. I would write this myself but it would take me forever but if someone else wants to write it, pls let me know. I'm not gonna be pissy about credit but just lmk if you wanna write it bc I wanna read it.
Who was gonna tell me that acetone melts Lego. There was a pair of legs I wanted the print off of and then I remembered in the Lego Movie when they took off the print with nail polish remover and hey, guess what? I have nail polish remover and a print I don't want. It was luckily a pair of legs I don't care about but I didn't know that the stupid stuff would eat through the plastic. I assume it's the acetone but idk. Kinda sad about it bc I was trying to make my own little minifig out of random parts I don't care about so it's not a total loss.
I also wanna know what happens to the plastic so the legs are now sitting in a little container of the nail polish remover. I wanna know if they'll melt or something. It's been like 10 minutes (if even that) and it's already turned the liquid dark blue.
It's goop. All the Lego I put in there is now goop. The only plastic that doesn't turn into goop is the flexible plastic that Lego uses for sharp or spikey pieces. It's kinda gross and idk how to get rid of it.

Okay so it's taken over my brain at this point so now I'm gonna attempt to write a monstrosity fic. Like I'm at least planning it out but who knows if I'll actually get around to writing it.
It'll be Kai centric and it'll be like, the source dragon told the ninja to find Daidan bc she's the guardian dragon or something along those lines and then they have to go through the land of monsters to find her and everyone discovers how much Kai went through bc he just goes into like leader mode and protects everyone and gets mad at them if they don't listen to him bc he knows what's in that realm and just wants to protect them.
Idk. Rn it's a very rough idea but it's currently being planned. Maybe I'll post the planned bits but not the writing bits bc I'm shit at writing.
Okay so I just had to post about this somewhere but I feel like the fire mech dude (does he have a name?) wouldn't have been able to resist the lake monster unless he killed his master himself.
Cause like, he accepted that the centipede was his master but wasn't anymore and accepted that he had to kill his master.
But with Kai and Daidon (the dragon) they didn't accept their losses yet. Kai's was understandable, he wanted a way back to his family and Daidon wanted revenge for her child and hadn't accepted her child's death at that point.
Idk where I'm really going with this but yeah. Those are my thoughts on that
Okay I lied. I know I said I'd try to work on it but I ended up having to work overtime. I will work on it tomorrow or the next day tho and hopefully finish the chapter
I know this next chapter is taking FOREVER to post but I'm horrible at writing dialogue and that's like 90% of the chapter so I am struggling but I'll try to work on it for a while tomorrow and I think I'll try a different style of writing for the chapter after this one. It's mostly written, I just gotta finish it up and then go through it. It's way shorter than the other 2 chapters but that's okay. I'm trying not to care. Like I said, I'm shit at writing dialogue
