Many of you have been interested in finding out how my PCOS diet has been going and whether I have been losing weight. It's been about 18 months since I kicked it off and I've been pretty quiet during a lot of that time.

YES! This is why I find it so difficult to get to sleep!
So true...
My sisters mates photography.
Very very cool photos. Creativity and the moon!
Something interesting that took my little bonce a while to get it’s head round. This doesn’t seem to be discussed that much so here’s a little ramble about it:
PCO = Poly cystic ovaries = ovaries that have multiple benign cysts.
PCOS = Poly cystic ovarian syndrome = ‘syndrome’ means a collection...
Thanks to OvercomingPCOS for writing this. It's so true. I have had a number of friends over the years telling me they have been diagnosed with PCOS and then 6 months later they're "cured". What they actually had was PCO and not the syndrome. PCOS is more than just cysts on the ovaries, in fact the cysts are a symptom of the hormone imbalances in the endocrine system not the cause of the problem.
Britney's Low GI Diet
There's this awful new TV series on Living at the moment - the name escapes me but it involves taking 3(?) people and giving them the training to become celebrity lookalikes (or something like that).
Anyway, I was flicking channels and this week it's Britney Spears wannabes. They were just on the part where they were discussing diet and fitness so I stopped to see what crazy diet she followed. Now, Britney has yo-yo'ed with her weight over the years, but when she sets her mind to it she slims down and has an amazing body - particularly those abs.
I was interested to see that she uses a low-fat low-GI diet when she wants to get into shape. I was a bit disappointed by her supposed portion sizes (especially considering the amount of exercise she must do when preparing for a tour) but was pleased that she doesn't succumb to some of the crazy fad diets that much of Hollywood and the celebrity world seem to follow.
Now, all I need to do is work out if I even have abs under all this fat!!!!

Oh yeah!
The Seven Guidelines of the Low GI Diet!
1. Eat seven or more servings of fruit and vegetables every day (apples & citrus fruits have the lowest GI, citrus such as oranges and grapefruit also stone fruit , such as peaches and nectarines).
2. Eat low GI breads and cereals. Examples of low GI...

Tough Times
You may have noticed things have been a bit quiet here over the last 2 weeks. My dad is now extremely sick so I have relocated to my mum's house to offer her support in his care. Food and exercise-wise I'm not doing well as we can't leave the house much and we eat what's available. But, that said, I'm not stuffing my face all the time. I am drinking far too much coffee but will have to deal with that once this episode in my life is over. I'm working from here so will try to add some more posts once I have settled a bit
